Viking inspired Motivational/Inspirational speech for all people of Midgard.
Lyrics by Danheim: Rise now people of Midgard, with dreary eyes awake. Rise to the horn of Heimdal, now is the time to stand tall. Fear not death for the hour of your doom is set and none may escape it.
In the hour of darkness, where are the gods of old? Let me feel and see them clear! - they have gone like the sun behind the mountains, into the shadows.
But they are here, all around us. I bid you stand!- and follow the path of old!
Old tales I remember of men long ago. Without fear, our ancestors stained their spears with bloody shields.
The age of the north is here, now listen to the mighty Aesir.
It is time for victory, it is time to claim your longing and thirst. set your heart ablaze, with the unstoppable fire in your veins.
Let the earth tremble, let the gods know with courage,
Herja is roughly translated to "wage war" and is one of the two new albums by Danheim (2018). Herja contains Viking War Songs and Epic Viking Battle Songs. In contrast to the Fridr album, Herja is based on a darker atmosphere and are inspired by the struggles, battles and hostile times of the Viking Age.
Lyrics (Old Norse): níu man ek heima, níu íviði, mjötvið mœran fyr mold neðan. jörð fannsk æva né upphiminn, gap var ginnunga, níu man ek heima, níu íviði, mjötvið mœran fyr mold neðan.
Lyrics (English translation): Nine worlds I knew, | the nine in the tree. With mighty roots | beneath the mold. Earth had not been, | nor heaven above, But a yawning gap Nine worlds I knew, | the nine in the tree. With mighty roots | beneath the mold.
Before there was soil, sky or any green thing, there was only the gaping abyss of Ginnungagap.
Frost from Niflheim and billowing flames from Muspelheim crept toward each other until they met in Ginnungagap. Amid the hissing and sputtering, the fire melted the ice, and the drops formed themselves into Ymir The Creator of Worlds.
About Danheim A dark Nordic folk project from Danish multi-instrumentalist and producer Mike Schæfer Olsen, Danheim's icy blend of Viking mythology and ambient Scandinavian folk music evokes sonic heathenry. Inspired by runic legends and Danish folklore, Olsen began to explore his heritage via song in the early 2000s. He began releasing music under the Danheim moniker in 2017, beginning with the full-lengths Munarvagr and Mannavegr. In 2018, he launched his own independent label, Fimbul Records, with the intention of issuing future material from other artists in the Nordic folk genre. Herja and Fridr were released that year, with Runagaldr and Hringras arriving in early 2019.
