GAITHERSBURG, Md. -- Body camera videos released Tuesday shows a 21-year-old Black man moving inside a parked car, apparently sitting up from a reclining position, moments before police shot and killed him outside a McDonald’s restaurant in Maryland.
At a media briefing, Montgomery County police Chief Marcus Jones narrated a 28-minute-long compilation of bodycam video excerpts and a recorded phone call between police and the driver, Ryan LeRoux, before the July 16 shooting in Gaithersburg. But the chief didn’t express any opinion about whether the Friday night shooting was justified. Prosecutors in a neighboring county are investigating.
Jones, who didn’t take any questions from reporters, said police recovered a gun from LeRoux’s lap after four officers opened fire on him. The chief didn’t say whether investigators believe LeRoux raised a weapon or posed a threat to police during a standoff that lasted approximately 30 minutes.
Later Tuesday, LeRoux’s mother told reporters that her son was depressed, had lost his job and girlfriend, and was grieving the death of his grandmother last month. Rhonda LeRoux also said her son was living out of his car and had legally purchased a gun to protect himself. “I wouldn’t wish this pain on any parent,” she said. Rhonda LeRoux said the “handpicked” videos shown by police don’t show her son raising his hand with a gun or pointing it at officers. “Ryan was sitting inside his car for over an hour. Clearly, the Montgomery County police failed to deescalate the situation,” she said. “Their way of resolving this situation was just to unload a barrage of 24 bullets into him while he’s sitting in his car.”
Police haven’t specified how many shots were fired by the officers.

Just wanted to show a silly little accessory I bought that I use in my Honda Insight.
In this video I give you a full drive of the Comma 2 in action on a 2019 Insight along with opinions and commentary on it's performance.
Well another drive in the snow with more impressions on how the Insight handles with stock tires.
In this video I tighten my sphincter and take Ruby out for a snow drive home.
Music composed by Lawrence W. Moore
video produced by Liza Seigido
This piece was a collaboration between Lawrence W. Moore (music) and Liza Seigido (video). Moore composed the music in an effort to work with the small, almost instantaneous element of a snapping sound, generated by using an empty sync table. Moore generated the instrument in Csound and applied many parameters to it, which allowed him to create an adventure from using such a simple sound. Seigido created the video from a short, 7 second clip of video footage of US1 on the way back from the Florida Keys.

Today I’m going to teach you how to install Nextcloud in Ubuntu Server 20.04 LTS. I’ll explore it a little bit but I’ll make another video that goes into its abilities with more detail. For those of you wanting to replace Dropbox or Google Drive this is the software for you. It’s pretty easy to setup and should get you going with your own cloud service!

Simply 80's presents it's Number 5 Heartbreak song of the 80's. "Drive" is a 1984 song by the Cars, the third single from the band's Heartbeat City album released in March 1984 and their biggest international hit. Written by Ric Ocasek, the track was sung by bassist Benjamin Orr and produced by Robert John "Mutt" Lange with the band. Upon its release, "Drive" became The Cars' highest charting single in most territories. In the United States, it peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart; on the Adult Contemporary chart, the song went to No. 1. It reached No. 5 (No. 4 on re-entry in 1985) in the United Kingdom, No. 4 in West Germany, No. 6 in Canada and No. 3 (No. 5 on re-entry in 1985) in Ireland.
The music video was directed by actor Timothy Hutton and features 18-year-old model/actress Paulina Porizkova, who would later become Ric Ocasek's wife.
The video alternates between shots of Orr sitting in a disused nightclub, facing mannequins posed at the bar as customers and bartender, and scenes that depict the breakdown of a relationship between the characters played by Ocasek and Porizkova. Ultimately left alone, the woman cries and laughs hysterically for a time before visiting the nightclub. She looks sadly in through a dirty window at the stage, where tuxedo-clad mannequins of the band members are posed with their instruments as if playing a show, and turns to walk away as the video ends.
