"Elvis by Request - Flaming Star & 3 Other Great Songs" is the 6th soundtrack album by Elvis Presley at RCA.
It was released on RCA Victor, catalog number LPC 128, on April 21, 1961.
The album represented the soundtrack for the movie "Flaming Star" and was Elvis' only 33 1/3 RPM release.

Soundtrack recording sessions took place on August 8-11 and October 7, 1960, at Radio Recorders.
Initially, four songs were composed for the movie, but only "Flaming Star" and "A Cane and a High Starched Collar", were used.
The title track and a rejected song, "Summer Kisses, Winter Tears", were released in the 1961 EP. The B-sides were "Are You Lonesome Tonight" and "It's Now or Never".
The other two were released in the late 1970s, and an early version of "Flaming Star," using the film's working title "Black Star", was released in the 1990s.

The EP peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100.
In Germany, it was released on RCA Victor, catalog number EPA 9011, in May 1961 and again as EPA 9011 in December 1961 with "Frankfort Special" and "G. I. Blues" on the B-side.
The 1982 re-release of the EP in UK, catalogued as 45-RCX 7205, was the first to bring all 4 songs from the soundtrack together in an album.

Here we bring you the full 1961 EP and a few bonuses. We hope you like it. Enjoy!

*** Recorded March 25, 1961 ***

Unsurprisingly, Elvis adopted Hawaii as his haven in the beginning of his career. He first performed there in November 1957, and since then he never lost an opportunity to revisit the islands.
In March 1961, nearing the 20th anniversary of Pearl Harbor's attack, Elvis was called in to do a benefit concert to raise money for the construction of the USS Arizona Memorial.
As part of the concert's promotion, Colonel Parker paid for a radio program to be broadcasted on March 18, 1961; "Elvis Salutes the USS Arizona" presented Gospel tracks from Elvis' records interleaved with narrations by reporter and DJ Tom Moffat.
Elvis' benefit concert was aired live on March 25, 1961 and was and had a good profit.
Up until 1977, Elvis donated around US$ 64 thousand for the memorial.

Here we bring a new edition with the show and radio program mentioned above, plus some extras. We hope you like it. Enjoy!

"Elvis Presley Dans G. I. Blues ("Café Europa en Uniforme")" is a RCA promotional EP for the movie "G I. Blues" (titled "Café Europa" in Europe) released in France in 1961.
Recording sessions took place on April 27 and May 6, 1960, at RCA Studio C and Radio Recorders in Hollywood, California.

"G. I. Blues / Café Europa" was Elvis' first movie and soundtrack after returning from Germany in 1960.
As the movie would be released in France only in March 1961, RCA created a marketing strategy of releasing an EP with 4 songs from the soundtrack to attract people to the movie and its songs in February.
For the work, the first two songs were the reissue of the 1960 UK single ("Wooden Heart / Tonight's All Right For Love"), followed by "G.I. Blues" and "Didja' Ever" on the B-side.
The EP was a huge success in France and today it figures among the most searched albums by collectors.

Here we bring you the full 1961 EP. We hope you like it. Enjoy!

*** Recorded December 21-31, 1958 & April 1959 ***

Elvis spent less than 18 months in Germany, but his presence left an indelible mark on the small town of Hesse.
Sometime around December 25, 1958, Elvis and his friends sat in the living room of his Grunewald Hotel suite and Charlie Hodge turned on his personal recorder. Two one-hour tapes were recorded, featuring the boys having fun with a few songs.

In 1959 Elvis was already living in a house at 14 Goethestrasse in Bad Nauheim. By that time, RCA had pressured Colonel Parker to ask his protege for new recordings, so the agent sent a microphone and a professional recorder to Germany.

These three tapes were never officially released in full until VIK's "Are You Lonesome Tonight? - The Uncut Bad Nauheim Tapes" in 2018 and MRS' "Made in Germany - The Complete Private Recordings" in 2019.

Here we bring you the complete Bad Nauheim tapes. We hope you like it. Enjoy!

*** Recorded May 17, 1958 ***

While stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, Elvis used to pay almost daily visits to DJ Eddie Fadal, whom he have met in 1956, in Waco.
In one of these meetings, in the last days of his stay in Texas, shortly before returning to Memphis to then go to Nashville to record new songs, Elvis took Anita Wood to a birthday party at Fadal's house.
Eddie then turned on his recorder and recorded one of the greatest moments in the singer's amateur recording history during his time in the Army.
In it you can hear the King of Rock singing and playing the piano with his friends in more than 30 minutes of non-stop music.

Such a gem would be hidden from the world for a long time until it was released on an LP under the title "Forever Young, Forever Beautiful" by the bootleg label Memphis Flash, in 1978.
The record was very successful in the USA and attracted international fans, since the release of unknown recordings of Elvis were really rare in that period.
Over time, he would become a collector's gem.

Here we bring you Eddie Fadal's tape in its entirety. We hope you like it. Enjoy!

"His Hand in Mine" is an album by Elvis Presley at RCA.
It was released on RCA Victor, catalog number LSP 2328, on November 23, 1960.
It was the first of three Gospel albums that Presley would issue during his lifetime.
All the selections for His Hand In Mine were completed in one fourteen-hour session on October 30 and 31, 1960, at RCA Studio B in Nashville, Tennessee.

The songs "Surrender" and "Crying in the Chapel" were recorded during the session, but were withheld for later issue as singles.
"Surrender" would be his first single of 1961 and top the chart, but "Crying in the Chapel" would wait until April 1965 to be issued, going to #3 on the chart.

The song "In My Father's House" was arranged and adapted by Elvis Presley which was published by Elvis Presley Music.
Presley later re-recorded "Swing Down Sweet Chariot" (not to be confused with the popular "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot") for the soundtrack of his 1969 film, "The Trouble with Girls."

Here we bring you the full 1960 LP and a few bonuses. We hope you like it. Enjoy!

Much has been written about the "decline" of Elvis Presley in the 1970s and although the facts are clear that he died at the age of just 42, the reality was that during this time the King of Rock and Roll was still a clear presence in the wider pop scene. Elvis was arguably one of the early pioneers of what would be considered today as Adult Contemporary - a maturing artist who continued to sell records and sell out auditoriums right up until his untimely demise in 1977. This is a period of his life and career that is overdue for reconsideration.

"G.I. Blues" is the 5th soundtrack album by Elvis Presley at RCA.
It was released on RCA Victor, catalog number LSP 2256, on October 1, 1960.
The movie and soundtrack album were titled "Café Europa" in Europe.

"Wooden Heart" was released as a single in the United Kingdom, where it was number one for six weeks. It also was number one in Australia. RCA Victor later released "Wooden Heart" as the b-side of a single twice, once in 1964 and again in 1965.
Due to copyright reasons, the European version of the soundtrack album and film substitutes the opening track "Tonight Is So Right for Love" with the song "Tonight's All Right for Love", adapted from a melody by 19th century waltz-king Johann Strauss II, "Tales from the Vienna Woods". The melody for "Tonight Is So Right for Love" was taken directly from a barcarolle composed by Jacques Offenbach, one of Strauss's contemporaries. An American release of "Tonight's All Right for Love" did not occur until 1974.
The version of "Blue Suede Shoes" used on the soundtrack is a new recording of the song Presley first recorded in 1956, and is one of only a few re-recorded by Elvis.

The soundtrack album was nominated for two Grammy Awards in 1960 in the categories Best Sound Track Album Or Recording Of Original Cast From A Motion Picture Or Television and Best Vocal Performance Album, Male.[8]

It topped the Billboard Top Pop Album chart. The album remained at the #1 spot for ten weeks.
It was certified Gold on March 13, 1963 and Platinum on March 27, 1992 by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Here we bring you the full 1960 LP and a few bonuses. We hope you like it. Enjoy!

In 1968 Elvis made his comeback on a live stage and that was his first live performance in seven years. This happened just a short time after the assassinations of MLK and RFK and the the song "If I can dream" was a response to these assassinations. I'm quite sure it was the same dark forces, who was behind those assassinations, who is behind todays mass murder by injections. So this song performed by the greatest artist of all time is relevant today as well.

*** Recorded March 20 & 21, April 3 & 4, 1960 ***

"Elvis is Back!" is a LP album by Elvis Presley at RCA.
It was released on RCA Victor, catalog number LSP/LPM 2231, on April 8, 1960.

"Elvis is Back!" is Elvis' first album on his return to the US after serving two years in the army in Germany, and his tenth LP for RCA.
This was RCA's first release of only unreleased material up to that point, as no single from the tracks on the LP was sold.
It represented a new sound for Presley and took him more towards the pop music side, a direction he continued to pursue for much of the decade.
The album features a mix of genres including rock, R&B and pop ballads, with Elvis giving his voice a deeper, more sophisticated quality.

The first single linked to "Elvis is Back!", "Stuck on You", was released two days after recording with "Fame and Fortune" on the B-side, attracting 1.4 million pre-orders, and being the first Presley's single to be released in stereo.
The full LP hit stores on April 8, 1960, in stereo and mono versions, reaching number two on the Billboard Top LPs and topping the chart in the UK.
Despite this, its commercial performance was a disappointment, with less than 300,000 copies sold in the United States.
Abroad, the EP "Such a Night", which featured four songs from the album, helped boost sales.
The album was certified Gold on July 15, 1999 by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Here we bring you the full 1960 LP and a few bonuses. We hope you like it. Enjoy!

There were quite a few questions I was asked in the YouTube comments after making my opinion video about the Super Mario Bros. Movie Teaser Trailer. So I decided to make a new Mike's mailbag episode to address your concerns and also answer a few other questions I saw in the comment section.

"Elvis' Gold Records, Vol. 2" is a compilation LP album by Elvis Presley at RCA.
It was released on RCA Victor, catalog number LPM 2075, on November 13, 1959.

Following the line of "A Date With Elvis", it consists of both sides of five singles released during 1958 and 1959.
Two sides made number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and six others reached the Top 10.
The album peaked at number 31 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart.
It was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on November 1, 1966.
A Platinum certification followed on March 27, 1992.

There has long been some confusion over the actual title of this album.
The title is shown on the original record's labels as "Elvis' Gold Records, Vol. 2", with a comma and an abbreviation of "Volume", but on the jacket, it appears as "Elvis' Gold Records – Volume 2".
The phrase "50,000,000 Elvis Fans Can't Be Wrong" does not appear on the labels on any of the original records, and it is the title of the records on the labels — not the jacket — that is usually given preference when conflicting titles appear on albums.
Therefore, it's right title is "Elvis' Gold Records, Vol. 2".

Here we bring you the full 1959 LP and a few bonuses. We hope you like it. Enjoy!

These are songs from the 1964 movie, they used to be in mono sound, now they are in stereo sound. There are scenes in the movie that are not music also, but the main reason I made this was for the songs to actually be in stereo sound. Songs are 01. The Lady Loves Me-duet with Ann Margaret 02.C'mon Everybody 03.Today, Tommorrow and Forever. 04.What'd I Say 05.Santa Lucia 06.If You Think I Don't Need You 07.Appreciation-sung by Ann Margret 08.Viva Las Vegas. 09.I Need Somebody To Lean On. I hope you Elvis fans like this. A lot of work went into it.

"A Date With Elvis" is a compilation LP album by Elvis Presley at RCA.
It was released on RCA Victor, catalog number LPM 2011, on July 24, 1959.

Like its predecessor "For LP Fans Only", this album featured tracks that had been issued on Sun Records with limited release, and were almost impossible to locate beyond certain parts of the south.
However all 5 Sun singles were reissued by RCA Victor in November 1955 and remained in print through the 1970s.
The remaining five tracks derived from three different EPs issued in 1956 and 1957.

Even by the standards of the late 1950s and early 1960s, where long-playing albums often ran to only about 35 minutes, this was a very short album at twenty-three minutes, and as such became the lowest charting Presley LP of the decade.
This album also folds out to be a calendar for the year 1960.

A different version of the album, duplicating six tracks from the American release, but expanding the track list to a healthy fourteen, was issued in Australia on vinyl in September 1959.

It reached number #32 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart.

Here we bring you the full 1959 LP and a few bonuses. We hope you like it. Enjoy!

"A Touch of Gold, Volume I" is an EP by Elvis Presley at RCA.
It was released on RCA Victor, catalog number EPA 5088, on April 21, 1959.

The album had on its cover one of the photos of the iconic photo shoot with the now famous Gold Lame Suit.
The EP's 4 tracks were chosen to benefit the present without forgetting the past, placing the recent hit "Heard Headed Woman" as the opening track and then returning to a Sun Studio classic, closing with 2 singles from 1957.
Excluding "Good Rockin' Tonight" which had already gone Gold the previous year, the other three singles rose to that level in September 1959 thanks to their appearance on this EP.

Here we bring you the full 1959 EP. We hope you like it. Enjoy!

However all 5 Sun singles were reissued by RCA Victor in November 1955 and remained in print through the 1970s.

After becoming a worldwide star, Elvis went to Tupelo to perform for the first time in his hometown as a solo artist.
Around 50.000 fans crowded the little city to see his two concerts at The Mississippi-Alabama Fair & Dairy Show on September 26, 1956.
They were benefit concerts for the construction of the Elvis Presley Youth Center, a recreational complex for the poor kids from East Tupelo.
Elvis did a third benefit concert for the complex on September 27, 1957.
It was built and inaugurated in 1961, after Elvis threatened to withdraw his contributions due to the many delays since 1956.

Here we bring you both 1956 concerts in full and 2 bonuses. We hope you like it. Enjoy!
