The earliest Grenades are thought to have been created in the 8th Century AD. Around the 10th Century they arrived in China and they replaced the filler with early black powder. Over time they evolved to include shrapnel material. These crude early grenades are still appearing on the battlefield to include protests here in the USA.

This was a simplified grenade manufactured by the Soviets as a substitute for the complicated RGD-33 stick grenade. They were manufactured also behind German lines by partisans. All the partisans needed was the TNT for the filler and the UZRGM fuse assemblies which was dropped to or smuggled to them. The container was whatever small cans they had available.

These mines are rare in the inventory now. I saw a chart with historic landmine production data and inventory numbers during the mid 90s. It was classified but I had access because of my duty position at the time. There were estimated to be around 60,000 left in inventory 20 years ago according to online searches. They were produced in the late 1950s and were given out in large numbers to guerilla organizations we supported during the Cold War. Easy to use and very hard to detect during that period.

This is the first task performed when putting in any minefield. You need to find the location, site it out, and mark it for the row or mines. You MUST have 2 landmarks for helping locate the locations of the rows of mines. All the information collected in this phase is entered in the Minefield Report documents. Remember you must be hyper-accurate so no mines are missed during removal.

In this video I give a squad battle drill of how a row of landmines is laid in a row minefield according to US doctrine. This battle drill was designed for a 9-man engineer squad. If you are using 10-man squads then place your 10th troop where they are most needed. If you are surface laying the mines (not burying them) your diggers can be split up with 1 as an additional armer and the other on the laying team. To fill 250 meters of the row you need at least 42 antitank landmines spaced 6 meters apart. We usually carried 49 mines for each row during emplacement. In case a mine would not arm we replaced it with one of the extras we carried. The leftover mines after completing the row are returned to the mine dump. Some of the arming wrenches and safety pins or clips should have been kept back at the mine dump for any returned mines (the excess over 42 mines). If the mines are removed years later they will usually be destroyed anyways so being a couple clips or pins short would not be a huge problem. If a unit comes in and removes the mines for reuse after the battle they will destroy any mines they do not have clips, pins, and arming wrenches for.

This video tells about tanglefoot wire obstacles. These were usually found around firebases and basecamps in Vietnam. It supplemented concertina wire fences by filling the space between the 2 belts of concertina wire or provided separation from perimeter trenches and concertina wire. It is meant to trip running attackers, slowing their advance into the trench system. It was also employed by the Bundeswehr during the Cold War around potential helicopter LZs to slow DDR and Soviet heliborne troops from deploying quickly to preform their missions. A variation can be employed during ambushes of dismounted troops. In that case wire or rope is strung between trees and stakes to keep the target in the killzone longer and prevent their assault into the ambushers.

NIKOLAS TESLA: "Genius Inventor & Master of Electricity" - (Full Documentary) + Please let's help support https://www.bitchute.com for their service - thank you.

(About)
Serbian-American engineer and physicist Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) made dozens of breakthroughs in the production, transmission and application of electric power.
He invented the first alternating current (AC) motor and developed AC generation and transmission technology.
Though he was famous and respected, he was never able to translate his copious inventions into long-term financial success—unlike his early employer and chief rival, Thomas Edison.

Nikola Tesla was born in 1856 in Smiljan, Croatia, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
His father was a priest in the Serbian Orthodox church and his mother managed the family’s farm. In 1863 Tesla’s brother Daniel was killed in a riding accident.
The shock of the loss unsettled the 7-year-old Tesla, who reported seeing visions—the first signs of his lifelong mental illnesses.

The JRTC Mine Awareness video has been banned for showing in the USA. For some reason...... Stacked AT mines is just like it sounds. One mine on top of another to multiply the blast effects. This really comes into effect if the mines are older and smaller. They were designed to damage older models of tanks which may have thinner armor and slightly different hull designs. By stacking the older mines with their smaller charges you increase the chances of defeating that newer model of tank.

This would more easily be constructed in fall as farmers are bringing in hay for the winter. At that time it would be easier to construct and conceal. The size would depend on the abilities of the people constructing it, the materials available, and the location where it would be constructed. A concealed entrance should be constructed that would not be easily found during searches by counter-insurgent forces. Ventilation should be planned for for prevent asphyxiation. This could be done using 2 PVC pipes and some wire screening (to prevent easy access by rodents). Comments and suggestion from people that have tried something like this or seen similar (like in Northern Ireland) would be appreciated.

Sappers did not always attack through the wire. On larger bases they often dug tunnels into the base and would use them for multiple attacks. If they did not launch an attack it was very common to use the tunnels to steal weapons, gear, and ammunition without leaving a trace of what happened.

In this video I talk about how the NVA and VC conducted sapper attacks against allied bases. Sappers were extremely valuable in the communist organization in Vietnam. They were not cannon fodder to be wasted. They were employed only after very thorough recon had been conducted. The sappers then penetrated the perimeter and began the attack from inside the perimeter. When they completed their mission they would fall back through the breach points to withdraw for the next attack.

In this task I tell how to do the Battle Drill for breaching wire obstacles like perimeter fences with explosives. In this task there are no landmines but you must always be prepared to include breaching mines with this battle drill. Because it is possible that after the fence is breached the blast will uncover buried landmines. The amount of bangalore torpedoes needed depends on the size of the lane required. If it is for dismounted troops you need only to lay one or a single line of bangalores through the wire. If you are breaching to allow the passage of vehicles you need at least 2 laid in a v-shape to create a lane at least 4.5 meters wide. If trying to open a lane for a mine plow it needs to be at least 8 meters wide. After the breach is proofed (it is checked for exposed mines or UXOs) it needs to be marked to show where the cleared lane is. If mines or UXOs are found in the lane they must destroyed with Pop And Drop charges before the lane is officially open.

This is probably the most common bulk explosive charge used by the German Wehrmacht in World War 2. It was used against fortifications, tanks, groups of troops, etc... If you think about it something like this would be fairly easy for a guerilla to manufacture. i do know the Soviets had their own version using their RGD-33 stick grenades during the war. But I don't think it was as prevalent with them and it does not appear that they removed the handles like the Wehrmacht did.

This is a basic hasty fighting position every troop should know and be able to construct when occupying an area. This position is for occupation times up to 24 hours. Longer than 24 hours it should be improved to a deliberate position by digging it to armpit depth. If the area is to be occupied longer and will be used as a battle position it should be improved from a deliberate to a bunker with overhead cover. Grenade sumps should always be built but the position of the sumps will depend on the phase of construction. The sumps should not be covered by the overhead cover when in the bunker phase. DO NOT put large rocks in the spoil used on the sides for flank protection. They can be used over the sandbags and covered with dirt when constructing a bunker. Rocks will cause incoming rounds to ricochet possibly into whoever occupies the position when used in the flanking berms. Use green wood for limiting stakes. Do not use metal pickets for limiting stakes as they ring very loudly when struck with a rifle. Always camouflage for concealment so your enemy does not see the position until it is too late for them to react. Clear your lanes of fire of excess brush and cut vegetation that is too tall.
