Ephesians 2:8-9 is one of the most quoted Bible passages in modern Christianity. Churches love it because they feel it so strongly supports the idea that good works are not necessary for salvation (even though they will usually admit that good works are fine in terms of earning "extra credit" with God). They also use this passage to preach against "working your way to heaven"... the idea that trying to be good actually EXEMPTS you from God's grace and salvation. But does this passage really support such ideas? In this video, we take a closer look at this famous Bible passage, and show you how it is actually one of the best passages in the Bible to support the relationship between works and grace.
We are God’s workmanship. That includes those who may feel they are outside of the favored group, like Hagar or the woman at the well. The God who sees is the God who is watching, who cares, who knows all about us, and He is not done working on us individually or collectively. On this Father’s Day, we remember our heavenly Father, who loves us unconditionally, and with great mercy and longsuffering.

God has sealed us with His Spirit, the Arrabon, a part payment certifying us as authentically His, until we receive our full inheritance. He has granted both authority and power as the equipment for service, and it is important to both know and understand how to use it. This included wielding the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, by which we will make it through.
