This is not meant to replace practice, and certainly not professional training. I want to discuss dressings in general and compare yet another of the most common type seen.

Be sure to read the blog describing these dressings.

DO NOT USE THE TAMPON BY ITSELF EVER!!!! This is an emergency improvisation to control the bleeding to try to keep the casualty alive and try to save the limb. Your fist choice should always be the compression dressing, combat gauze, and/or tourniquet to control arterial spray.

These are a Nato issue Burn Dressing that can be found with Sportsman Guide. They are apparently for sale in their outlet store only. But if you call and ask during ordering who knows.

These are a cheap but usable field dressing currently on the market. They can not be cranked down hard like an Israeli Dressing or Compression Dressing. But they have 2 gauze pads which can be used for entrance and exit wounds with a long length of gauze roll for holding them in place.

You have a casualty that needs evacuation for medical care but you do not have a litter. The casualty can not evacuate them-self so you need to improvise a litter. Here are 3 ways to construct an improvised litter.

The USGI Triangular Bandage (crevatt) is an incredibly useful piece of gear. Maybe the single most useful trauma first aid item, and it's not just taking up space while waiting till someone gets shot.

One of the most important life saving tools you can have on hand, but next to useless if you don't practice with it.
