Spent one night at pink house. Got mowing done just in time before the rain. Managed to get some flower seeds picked then next day picked flowers for my aunt who had knee surgery and then for parents. Hopefully can stay longer and get more done next time.

Today I am doing a little housekeeping in the garden. The weeds coming up in between the cracks in the pathway are bothering me and I want to clear the path so we can enjoy the beauty of our garden. I actually enjoy weeding sometimes so I just take my time and enjoy the afternoon. The results were worth it and it actually took me 2 afternoons. Enjoy my garden!

"A Touch of Spring" - 12x9” - Acrylic on Canvas -

My niece asked me to paint this flower that she found. I haven’t done anything close to portrait work in a while, so getting the tones right in the fingers was a small challenge. Overall I enjoyed the simplicity of this piece.

"The Myrtle Tree" - 12x16” - Acrylic on Canvas -

This is the companion piece to “Old Train Car,” another commission by a client. The most difficult part of this painting was dividing the foreground from the background while still creating a sense of depth. That made this one of my most interesting paintings to date and gave me more confidence to experiment with similar scenes in the future.

Now that the thief has assumed his stolen position at the desk in the Oval Office, we can rest assured that his presidency shall be nothing less than a colossal disaster. That's good, because if it wasn't a total disaster, then we'd know that the universe itself would be entirely unworkable. Lies don't work, and that's why the presidency of Skeletor's grandfather is doomed from the beginning.

When, and if, things ever calm down a little to where I can think more clearly, they deserve to have proper pots, especially the runt in the corner.

I put a coat of resin on this CUP BOTTOM reverse dip on WOOD PANEL acrylic pour painting. Wasn't sure how it will dry, but there is no cracks.
I like those panels, because they have an edge and it easy to resin them.
PROCESS:
- Pour your base on canvas
- Put your cup on the canvas with bottom up
- Pour paints on the bottom and use pearl white or some metallic paints between each colour to create petal - lacing effect
- Take off the cup
- Use skewer to draw some petal shapes
- Gently put paper napkin or towel on canvas ( You can use dry or damped napkin)
- Lift one corner at the time and then gently lift it (the middle last)
- Torch it for air bubbles and to activate pearl white and metallics
- And here is your flower :)

TECHNIQUE: Reverse flower dip with paper napkin, Cup bottom pour

MATERIAL I USED:
- 8x8 inch Cradled Wood Panel
- Acrylic paints mixed with pouring medium
- Flower shaped desert cup
- Paper napkin or towel
- Wooden skewer
- Palete knife
- Torch

COLOURS I USED:
- Boesner black for the base coat
- Amsterdam pale violet
- Vallejo fluorescent violet
- Vallejo fluorescent magenta
- Amsterdam persian rose
- Vallejo fluorescent blue
- Amsterdam sky blue light
- Pearl white

My pearl white mixture:
1 part Vallejo pearl medium
1 part titanium white
2 parts pouring medium
All my paints are mixed with Boesner Guardi acrylic binder and acrylic emulsion.

A wild flower punk travail
Hertfordshire, England, 2020..Is there a spirit in the land? Is there a connection, an energy, imperceptible yet real? Traverse the land on foot, get lost, wander, go walkabout. Where the hell is there to go anyway? Take a track, a path, and turn off it into the unknown. Isn't there a pleasant surprise around every tree, bush or hill? Beauty lives in the tiniest of things. Relate to them, smell them, just behold; the most common are yet the most exotic. Sculpted by man yet always falling slowly to wilderness, we live in between worlds of our own creation and of natures desire. In fact we bridge those worlds in a perfect harmony, if we listen, if we look, if we feel, I swear it comes alive on wafts of fragrant fresh air..

Music by Chelsea: No Flowers

No flowers were harmed in the making of this video

A nice and easy practice project. Reference photo, for those wanting to paint at home, is at royalty free Unsplash. Photographer Wilfried Santer, link https://unsplash.com/photos/ntyvHRFuptw

I tend to paint a bit loose. I like to.

I think when people are self taught, they have tendencies to develop their own style faster, because nobody is teaching them another person's technique, to do things another way.

I used 100% cotton paper and Turner Artist Grade watercolor, which is extremely affordable, great quality, lightfast, and very pigmented. Jerry's Artarama sells it, dirt cheap. I get nothing for sharing that, other than maybe helping you find an extremely high quality watercolor tube paint at a very affordable price.

I only buy watercolor in tubes. I did when first starting because it's flexiable. You can paint straight from the tube or make your own custom palettes in any size. I like making my own palettes. I don't paint from the tube, but some do. If I'm going to pay for some decent watercolor paint, I want more options that come with it. I like making my own set ups.

Abandoned farm begins to heal itself over 5 years fallow. Many pioneering species of plants have came in. Some of the plants i came across Bidens Elba, Lantana, Noni, Lucana, Moonflower, Saw Palmetto. Moonflowers are the perfect complement to this gorgeous time of day. As you might guess from the name, they are night bloomers. Their large white flowers open at dusk, releasing a sweet smell for your sunset views in the garden. It's a great choice for late night-strollers or night owls who might be taking in the garden under the moon.
They like heat and sun and don't mind dry soils where other plants may not grow. This makes moonflowers fairly easy to add to your garden, as they need little maintenance. They are climbers, though, so be sure to plant them where they have room to rise to the moon.

http://www.gardenandgreen.co.uk Mid August is the height of summer when the weather can be at its hottest, (or of course here in Britain it can also be torrential rain, or perhaps both in one morning) The late summer flowers are out and annuals are at their biggest and best. However, amongst all this vibrant colour there is also the first few signs that Autumn is not too far away with some early flowering plants shedding their petals.

Rochester, NY has an annual Lilac Festival that draws visitors from all over the world. Mattering on the weather, to avoid the crowds and parking situation, many of we locals go to Highland Park just before or after the 10 days of the festival.

Here's BITCHUTEBENNY's video slide show w/background music of The Lilac Festival's iconic pansy bed and a few lilac scenes (the lilacs were just beginning to wilt but still had their intoxicating aroma.)

Enjoy and help keep Benny's masterful content coming to you for your enjoyment ;)

Summer plants inspiration. Even if you have just a wall, or a window sill, you can create a colourful display using a mix of plants such as geraniums, fuchsias etc. http://www.gardenandgreen.co.uk

Wild Snowdrops (Galanthus) are the first bulbs to flower, their small white flowers bloom in wintery late January / February and are the first sign that Spring is on its way. They appear on woodland floors, and the edges of hedgerows. http://www.gardenandgreen.co.uk

Yellow and orange flowers look great when planted alongside each other. Use a mix of perennials and annuals. Knopfias, more commonly known as Red Hot Pokers, is a fantastic perennial that gives some height to the border, and they have exotic looking flower spikes. There is different varieties, some are bright yellow, some orange, others a mix of the two colours, as well as red. http://www.gardenandgreen.co.uk
