Another important aspect of World Building is creating animal life in your world. The more unique and interesting we can create them, the more we create something realistic. When you're thinking about animal life, think about every part of it - livestock, pets, beast of burden, wildlife, predators and prey. And the best way to do that is to have a writer's notebook and go to all kinds of natural places and look at what happens there.

The more you do and the more you think about that natural world, the better and more rounded the world you will create.

Flora, the plant world all around is important. It gives us oxygen to breathe, materials for shelter, food to eat, gardens to amaze. In speculative fiction, they can create all-new possibilities, flowers with magical properties that heal, cure disease and many other things. Some clone humans, others take over their minds.

I mainly worked on weapon controls like shooting, hit detection, fire rate, reloading and so on. To deal damage I wired up my system to the UE built-in damage system. This way the AI perception can react properly when being shot.

Also I worked on the AI a bit. I switched it to using the Detour AI Controller so that enemies stop bumping into each other when trying to reach the player. It works, but it introduced a weird rotation glitch, where the enemies are rotating like crazy when trying to face the player.

Also on that note, I switched to C++ for writing the AI Controller. I noticed that the more complex the behavior got the more the blueprint looked like a bowl of spaghetti.

What I have been doing

Good morning!

This year has been great for me for my projects, for Tales from Trinity City, I'm almost done the 3rd draft for the rulebook - it should be out by the end of this week. I've made some major progress in marketing art for the game. I also have some great feedback on the lore book, which will appear in version 0.5, which should be out summer/fall 2021. I'll get more into it when I do a video on finishing the third draft for 0.25 of the rule book, which I will create next week.

Next year, I am converting entirely from blogging. There is no good free speech alternative to WordPress, so I am going to focus on creating a brand new channel starting next year. This is the year I am also going to create a group on MeWe for a new creative community. One that is resistant to the - that shouldn't exist in 2020/2021 crowd.

I'll create much better videos on writing, productivity, world-building, game development - because stories create culture. The more compelling our writing is, the more we reach people and the more we take our culture back from these cry bully snowflakes.

This game is awesome. I mean, it's just a demo, and I played it 3 times despite no save feature. I didn't expect much from this game but it definitely surprised me. In fact, it's probably my favorite game of this year, from the demo alone. It's simple, but dang, it's really fun to control. If there was a save feature, I would have finished out the demo.

My only critique is that the sprint wasn't as obvious to perform as I thought it would be. A little tutorial for that would be cool in the final game! :D

I think my favorite part of the game was... well I'm having a hard time picking one thing. I love the chain, I love the interaction with that character that digs a hole. The game direction is really awesome, and the characters have interesting dialogue. I even laughed out loud at the lines "my parent's are playing the screaming game" and "I have fall in a dark hole and break my neck-phobia." xD My favorite song was the cave's song. I actually had to pause and listen to that one.

I have some ideas buzzing in my head. I imagine a volcano or breaking down factory where you have to outrun fiery debris and jump across falling platforms. Here's a more obvious one - different blasters! Imagine a charge upgrade where you can shoot a huge blast! :O Or what about a quick shooter upgrade? You could have them as attach-able upgrades. Maybe the charge upgrade could blow up cracks in walls or something? Just some ideas :D

I love it Arthur! I'm so glad you didn't give up on this. I really hope you don't, because I will absolutely buy this game and show it off to everyone I know!

Did some more work on the UI. Made title cards for the stages, made a speedometer and timer for the player's HUD, these will all likely see changes.
I'm currently focusing on the parts of the development pipeline I've never done before, to get the uncomfortable stuff out of the way asap. (I'm an artist first, programmer entirely by necessity.)

Currently working on my game's pause screen.
The camera still rotates with RStick while the game is paused, this is because the camera rotation follows RStick absolutely instead of using Time.deltaTime.
Right now, I'm considering either getting rid of the black overlay during the pause screen, OR disabling the ability to rotate the camera while the game is paused.

So, we've talked about the theme of Positive Character Arcs, which contains the thematic truth of the story - which the main character must discover as they experience the hardships of cleaving onto the lies they believe. In Red Dead Redemption 2, Arthur's blind loyalty to Dutch traps him into one bad decision after another. The truth that will set him free is rejecting Dutch's leadership and becoming independent.

But why does he need to do that?

Now we talk about the story arc - which is the Antagonists' story. For a story to be dynamic and entertaining, you need a powerful antagonist that keeps the protagonist on his toes. In RDR2, that is Micah. He is selling the gang out to the authorities, hoping he's the last man standing to take the stash. This is why Dutch's leadership was compromised. Micah was feeding the authorities all the information that would lead to the gang's destruction.

In positive character arcs, the protagonists have deep wounds that bleed into what they want and the lies they believe. For Arthur Morgan, he believed he needed to be loyal to Dutch (the lie) to escape the law and his past (his desire). He wanted to escape the ghost from his past, losing his wife and child to outlaws. Even if Arthur shouldn't trust Dutch (the truth that would set him free).

When you create a PCA, remember the character will believe a lie that prevents them from achieving their story goal, until they accept the truth. For Arthur, he realizes he needs to separate from Dutch when he learns he has TB. He's about to die, so Arthur can now live his full life. Playing honourably, he works to help anyone he hurt before. In the end, Arthur will sacrifice himself for John and his family.

For John, his wound was being captured during the bank robbery of St. Denis. He can see that Dutch, a person who raised him and took care of him, wasn't the person he claimed. John spent months in a prison camp. Fortunately, Arthur and Sadie break him out. Arthur sacrifices himself later so John, Abigail and Jack can escape. John goes through his arc during the 'epilogue', which is the third act of the story in my books.

He works hard to make a life for him and his family. He officially marries Abigail. And he finds Micah, the mastermind of the gang's destruction, and pays him back for killing Arthur.

INTO DUST is a VR & Non-VR Survival Horror Adventure game with some Roguelike elements. The Adventure characteristics of the game take the form of "Escape Room"-like puzzles, and the Survival Horror ones are hugely inspired by some of the classics like Silent Hill (1-4) and Resident Evil (1-3). As for the Roguelike elements, those are not very prevalent in the main campaign of the game, although there are some here and there! INTO DUST is part of a bigger universe I am creating.

OBS: There are some glitches with the video, they're due to some problems I didn't notice when capturing the footage (some program eating a lot of computer resources). Sorry about that! Those problems also made the game dip in FPS, but I assure you it normally does not. It is only running at 60 fps due to Vsync, if unlocked it goes way past 200!

PS: I realize the flow of the voice overs during the time lapses is a bit weird on this one, sorry about that! I was recording them at 5 am to have this up today. Will try my best to get those flowing better from now on!

اصبح #تصميم الالعاب الالكترونية اسهل في هذا الوقت خاصة مع توفر تطبيقات مع برامج #تطوير الالعاب مجاناً، فهناك تطبيق او برنامج مجاني مثل محرك يونتي وحتى انريل انجن مع غودوت فكلها متوفرة على كل انظمة التشغيل؛ سواء كان تطوير الالعاب في نظام ويندوز 10 او غنو لينكس او حتى نظام ابل ماك كما ان تعليم مع دروس اي محرك متوفر في يوتيوب. واصبح لاعب الجيمر له قدره على تحقيق #ارباح مع الفوز في بطولات اي لعبة وعلى اي جهاز لعب، فكل بطولة ايسبورتس متاحة على جهاز بلايستيشن وحتى اكسبوكس مع نينتندو وايضاً الحاسب او بي سي؛ ويمكن مشاركة لاعبي الجيمرز الان ايضاً في الاجهزة الذكية من الجوال مثل ايفون مع جالكسي وغيره وحتى الاجهزة اللوحية مثل ايباد.

Iv been focusing on game art for a while now. The coding is not done, but I'm sick of looking at white blocks so here we are. Im focusing my efforts on one room for now. Once I get the arts look and feel i can move it to the other parts of the level.

Hey there! In this video, I build a custom TouchScreenButton class that lets me see which direction I swipe on an area. By the end of the video, you'll have an area that when swiped will change the color of a sprite according to the swipe direction.

New enemy types, stubbed-in areas for the Plasma Trail, the Wreck of Demeter, and more! Additionally, the loot system has been expanded to include Modified and Reworked item rarities for debugging and gameplay purposes.
- Protector, Harasser, and Pillager enemies

So after loosing my old project I have been working on another one. I have gotten much further with this one in a shorter amount of time. However it IS a shorter game. So far it's called the Black Pyramid.

Iv worked out most of the mechanics, and Im currently taking a brake from programing to work on the graphics, starting with the monsters, then character, then the level itself. And so on, and so on.

This milestone was focused on an area generation refactor, lots of tools for making the game easier to debug and explore, and a brand new Twitch stream where fans can watch us develop the game live!

- More loot system expansion (modified items, loot drop rates, and tons more!)
- Refactored area generation system
- "Secret" areas in Hephaestus and Trinity with loot caches!
- Credits screen to thank our contributors, testers, and supporters
- Debug tools including a mission state tool and an item generator/inspector
