How much of the governments income is gained through taxation?
This bar chart race shows tax revenue in percentage compared to OECD countries respective GDP, 1965-2018, highest and lowest.
Definition of Tax revenue (OECD):
Tax revenue is defined as the revenues collected from taxes on income and profits, social security contributions, taxes levied on goods and services, payroll taxes, taxes on the ownership and transfer of property, and other taxes. Total tax revenue as a percentage of GDP indicates the share of a country's output that is collected by the government through taxes. It can be regarded as one measure of the degree to which the government controls the economy's resources. The tax burden is measured by taking the total tax revenues received as a percentage of GDP. This indicator relates to government as a whole (all government levels) and is measured in million USD and percentage of GDP.

Tories borrowing £55bn in May2020, gov debt record 100.9% of GDP (19June20)
Conservatives set new records with amount of debt they are racking up ujnder pretext of tackling coronavirus. £55bn in one month for May 2020, and now over 100.9% of UK GDP. And to top it off, this BBC economics "reporter" tries to make light of it all, by coming up with crap like the post World War 2 Atlee government went on a spending spree to set up the NHS / welfare state... but he didn't say he begged the Americans for money at ridiculous interest rate because the UK was flat broke.
Recorded from BBC News Channel HD, 19 June 2020.
Most of our economy is based on individual consumption, which is why universal basic income would boost the economy.

Watch China...
Russia appears a few times but no very often
Double-click the image to bring it to full screen and let it play...
Given the ideologies of both Russian and China, can you see why China - just from this graph - is the enemy and not Russia? China has the resources to do what Russia cannot - Russia has to rely on wit and limited technology why China can rely on both with and an expansive technology. How important is technology? Portugal, one of the smallest countries in Europe, was able to maintain world domination through technology for 450+ years... They BECAME accustomed to being first, they stopped doing research, Spain took over... How accustomed are you to the U.S. being first and how anti-research are you? Doesn't mean we have to accept every technology that comes along, it does mean we have to use wisdom with it...
