Phoenix police are asking for the public's help identifying four armed men who attempted to rob a Phoenix homeowner.

HOUSTON – A heart-pumping moment for a man who said an intruder came into his home Monday night and started shooting.
Investigators said gunfire grazed the leg of a woman who was inside the home. Meanwhile, the victim, who did not want to reveal his name, said he was able to wrestle the gunman down, grab his weapon and shoot at him in self-defense.
“Just happy to be able to walk away from it, you know,” the victim told KPRC 2. “It was crazy. I mean it all happened so quickly. One minute you’re eating cookies, and the (next) second, you got people coming through your door!”
In court on Thursday, the suspect, 22-year-old Matthew Castaneda, was charged with burglary with the intent to commit a felony. This comes after court documents allege Castaneda unlawfully entered the home with the intent to commit aggravated assault.
Castaneda “forcibly entered the residence and told the residents it was a stickup,” court documents stated.
The victim said the shooter started shooting right when he opened the door.
“He started running, so I didn’t see a sense for an overkill. I was just more focused on anyone else coming in at the second. But they had run off the scene, so I left it at that, locked the door, and called the cops,” the victim said.
The magistrate judge set Castaneda’s bond at $80,000, and a new order.
“Prohibiting you from having any contact at all with the complaining witnesses in this case,” the judge said Thursday to the suspect.
The judge also said that if Casteneda makes the bond, Castaneda would have to have a GPS monitoring device and would not be allowed near the victim’s home. Castaneda would not be allowed to possess or use a firearm when out on bond.
As for the victim, he said he is just glad no one else was hurt.
“I’m just happy to be alive and see another day,” the victim said

Homeowner exchanges gunfire with intruders in Kentucky
A Kentucky sheriff’s office released video of a home invasion where the homeowner and one of the intruders exchanged gunfire.
Both men were wounded.
Warren County deputies responded to the home Wednesday night after receiving a call about shots being fired. When they arrived, they found the homeowner had a gunshot wound to his right hand. He was transported to Jewish Hospital in Louisville for treatment.
The wounded suspect was also taken the hospital.
Investigators reviewed home security video showing the moment someone kicked the door in, and four intruders entered the home. You can see gunfire being exchanged when the lead intruder enters the doorway where the victim was.
The other intruders ran from the scene. If caught, they will face charges of attempted murder and first-degree burglary, authorities said.

ELK GROVE (CBS13) – Three home invasion suspects are in custody after a neighbor armed with a golf club chased them out of an Elk Grove home.
The homeowner ran out of the house, officers say, while the neighbor confronted the suspects in the home – thinking they had a gun.
They got into a fight and the suspects tried to strangle the neighbor – and stabbed him twice – before running off.
All three suspects were found with a pellet gun a few blocks away and arrested. The three have been identified as 21-year-old Ivory Spratt, 20-year-old Kymon Anderson and 19-year-old Zamir Alshabazz.

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) — A man has been found guilty of killing five people in 2014 during a rampage in a quiet Kansas City neighborhood.
Howell allegedly shot and killed the Taylor's neighbors -- Lorene Hurst and her son, Darrel Hurst, and Susan Choucroun -- as Howell drove off in one of the Taylor's vehicles, a Toyota SUV. He was later arrested near Interstate 29 and Barry Road in the Northland.

Mass shooting events in suburban settings such as Parkland, Fla., get a lot of public and political attention. They involve multiple victims shot by the same person at one location — a shattering blow to a single community.
Yet the urban toll of gun violence is much higher — and in Philadelphia, a frequent event. Shootings in the city often take place in different neighborhoods and involve different residents. But for the victims’ communities and the hospitals responsible for treating them, having multiple bullet-ridden patients come to the emergency room all at once from various locations can be as devastating as the more widely reported single-site mass shootings.
A new study from Temple University found that Philadelphia has seen 244 clusters of three or more gunshot patients rushed to a single hospital at once in an 11-year period. On three occasions, six or more patients were brought in as a single cluster.
The study analyzed data from the Philadelphia Police Department on more than 14,000 firearm injuries between 2005 and 2015. Researchers looked at how many patients arrived at the same hospital within 15 minutes of each other — considered a patient cluster.
Seeing clusters of gunshot patients is a near daily occurrence in Philadelphia, said Jessica Beard, a co-author of the study and a trauma surgeon at Temple University Hospital. Doctors call the influx of patients “an everyday mass shooting.”

Wendy Collins, of Stafford, is concerned that the two men being linked to her aunt and uncle’s murder in Louisiana may be in Houston.
Law enforcement officials out of Jefferson Davis Parish, Louisiana, are looking for two men, Jordan Legros and Javari Guidry.
Authorities say the two men, who are linked to the crime through physical evidence, are considered armed and dangerous and could the rest of their lives behind bars.
The duo is no strangers to crime, according to authorities.
Legros was arrested in 2017 for armed robbery and Guidry was convicted of attempted murder after a 2015 shooting in Lafayette.
In February, Guidry was transferred to a re-entry program and paroled in June.
Collins said that her aunt and uncle, Walter and Darlene Gotreaux, were good people. Their murders have left her and others in her family speechless.
Collins said her aunt and uncle, had cash inside their home, which is why she feels they were targeted. The two were shot multiple times in their own home days before Christmas.
“When my cousins told me what happened to my aunt and uncle I couldn’t believe it, because these are small Cajun towns,” she said.
Law enforcement believes the suspects may be driving a silver vehicle.
Guidry has a tattoo over his left eye. They are believed to be hiding out in southwestern Louisiana or potentially Houston.
