TITLE: Love and Power In the first episode, Curtis traces the effects of Ayn Rand's ideas on American financial markets, particularly via the influence on #Alan #Greenspan. Ayn Rand moved to New York and set up a reading group called The Collective where they considered her work. On advice from a friend, Greenspan (then a logical positivist) joined The Collective.
When published, although critically savaged, Rand's Objectivist ideas were popular, and influenced people working in the technology sector of California. The Californian Ideology, that computer networks could: - measure - control - stabilise societies - remove political control People would work only for their own happiness, a utopian belief that became widespread in Silicon Valley.
Greenspan entered government in the 70s, and became Chairman of the Federal Reserve. In 1992, he visited the newly elected Bill Clinton. He persuaded him to let the markets grow, cut taxes, and to let the markets stabilise themselves with the help of computer technology, to create the New economy. This involved using computer models to predict risks and hedge against them, in accordance with the Californian Ideology.
On this episode I am joined by Quentin Ferreira, a Clinical Psychologist working in the Space Industry, Libertarian, and Portuguese South African.
We discuss the psychology and often psychopathy of ideological possession, the Capitalist Party of South Africa which Quentin has been advertising, as well as the psychology behind the phenomenon of increasingly hostility towards political opponents in the battle of ideas.
Published on Sep 3, 2018 #Communism has caused more than 100 million unnatural deaths in the last century, and has pushed programs of economic slavery, cultural destruction, and forced atheism. Beneath its facade of "liberation" and "equality" is a system that aims to destroy the foundations of social harmony, pushing instead an #ideology of hatred and struggle. To understand the nature of communism, we take a look at the #Satanic writings of Karl Marx and at the nature of moral inversion inherent in its doctrine.
Correction: Two quotes in the images have the wrong name attributed to them. They state Marx, but should state Mikhail Bakunin, who was one of Marx’s partners in the First International. These quotes are “The Evil One is the satanic revolt against divine authority, revolt in which we see the fecund germ of all human emancipations, the revolution. Socialists recognize each other by the words ‘In the name of the one to whom a great wrong has been done.'” And, “In this revolution we will have to awaken the Devil in the people, to stir up the basest passions. Our mission is to destroy, not to edify.” We apologize for the error.
