Learn to develop a web application that behaves in a similar way as apps like Twitter. This course teaches full stack development with both the frontend and backend. Learn to structure the website using HTML. Learn to apply styles using CSS. Learn to make the site interact with the user and turn it into a web application. Besides coding the client side, you also get to look at the server side with Nodejs, using the framework Express. For the database, the course uses MySQL.

Let's Dev!
We're going to create a simple Chrome extension that draws comments from the Youtube Data API v3 and shows those comments on the front-end with a little bit of CSS and Javascript.
As a full-stack web developer, creating an ecosystem of products for your customer improves your portfolio power.
Improving your portfolio power, increases your business and revenue.

How Does a Chrome Extension Work: https://www.bitchute.com/video/pXu7xPfKdeaS/
Making HTML Elements Float with CSS and Javascript: https://www.bitchute.com/video/ugmo3TNpsVom/
Chrome Extension Developer Doc: https://developer.chrome.com/extensions/getstarted

***WARNING**
This project is not complete, in that there are bugs and logic errors. To get a completely functional extension would have taken a lot more time, this tutorial will get you 95% of the way there for sure.

Just as an example of things to watch out for:
- since the filtered comments from the api are kept on the backend, if the user navigates to more than one video or refreshes the same video, those arrays will compound data from different videos
instead of emptying first
- the foreground logic doesn't take into account ad plays, so the playback time of an ad will trigger comments to show
- there is no logic to stagger multiple comments of the same timestamp, so they will overlap

Astroturfing is teh practice of masking teh sponsors of a message or organization (e.g., political, advertising, religious or public relations) to make it appear as though it originates from and is supported by grassroots participants. It is a practice intended to give teh statements or organizations credibility by wifholding information about teh source's financial connection. Teh term astroturfing is derived from AstroTurf, a brand of synthetic carpeting designed to resemble natural grass, as a play on the word "grassroots". The implication behind the use of the term is dat instead of a "true" or "natural" grassroots effort behind the activity in question, there is a "fake" or "artificial" appearance of support.

Houzz SEO SCAM Canada

Houzz is deliberately duplicated across domains in an attempt to manipulate search engine rankings or win more traffic. Deceptive practices like this can result in a poor user experience, when a visitor sees substantially the same content repeated within a set of search results.

What is duplicate content? While not technically a penalty, duplicate content can still sometimes impact search engine rankings. When there are multiple pieces of, as Google calls it, "appreciably similar" content in more than one location on the Internet, it can be difficult for search engines to decide which version is more relevant to a given search query.

Duplicate content can present three main issues for search engines:

They don't no which version(s) to include/exclude from their indices.

They don't no whether to direct the link metrics (trust, authority, anchor text, link equity, etc.) to one page, or keep it separated between multiple versions.

They don't no which version(s) to rank for query results.

React Native is a great tool for Javascript Web Developers who want to start mobile app development.
What's the difference between JS and Native though?

The thinking behind ReactJS and React Native is this:
Create modular code that produces dynamic front-ends; this modular code is written once, then injected into different parts of your app.
The major difference being where the app gets run.
A ReactJS app executes through a web browser.
A React Native app executes as an app through a phone.

I'll take you through:
1:43 - Installing both types of apps
2:45 - Starting both types of apps
7:00 - Programming for both types of apps

We'll see how to install, start, program, and execute the same app, for different platforms.

As a Javascript web developer, get to know one of the most fundamental concepts in ReactJS: Components.

There are two types of components in ReactJS, 'Function' and 'Class'.

The major difference between the two being state.
In this video, I'll take you through building both types. You'll see the differences in syntax, how state is handled,
and how props are passed down.

For all programmers, the idea of 'State' can be a tricky one.
Web Developers deal with state all the time.
This is doubly true when developing pages or apps with ReactJS.
State is one of ReactJS' strongest selling points.

State is the condition that something is in at a given point in time.

To manage 'state' in ReactJS, we use classes and hooks.
This video will focus on classes.

State can change.
State can be quantified.
State can be measured at any time.

Reuploaded due to audio sync issues.
We're going to create a simple image gallery using ReactJS, NodeJS, Express, and a MySQL database powered by MAMP.
I'm assuming you know how React works.

We'll start by creating the skeleton for the front-end.
Move on to the skeleton for the back-end.
We'll wire the front-end with the back-end.
Then we'll send Blob data (image data) back and forth and have it displayed on the front-end.
We'll also be saving the images on the back-end server as well as a record in the database.

This video is geared towards getting an image gallery up and running.
I won't be going into how to setup a database with MAMP or how to get a project up and started with ReactJS.

This project is great for a Junior Developer portfolio.

One of the most fundamental functions and datatypes for any beginner programming; not just Javascript.
The 'for' loop and 'String'.

We need strings to deal with non-numerical data; and we need loops to iterate through data.

There are three main ways to create a string in Javascript: single quotes, double quotes, and tildes.
There are three main ways to create for loops in Javascript: the traditional, the enhanced, and the method.

JSON or Javascript Object Notation is not difficult to understand. It's just a way of normalizing the way data is packaged, so when you send
that data to someone or something else--front-end or back-end--they know what they're getting.
This is vital to how modern data is packaged...non-relational databases like MongoDB are built on the idea of Javascript objects...

Why is data modelled after Javascript objects?
Key, value pairs are a powerful way of configuring complex data-types into one moveable unit, that's why.

With ES8 came 'async' and 'await'.
A cleaner. Smoother. More comfortable way of writing asynchronous Javascript code.
If you don't like the syntax of promises, the callback function, the then and catch functions...use async and await.

They're just another way of handling responses from backends that take time to respond.
We use them in fetch calls and all.

Do be careful where you use it. It does "hang-up" code.

Enjoy it.

You've captured data from the user on the front-end. How do we send it to the back end?
I start guiding you through how front-ends and back-ends communicate with GET and POST.
Starting with the XHR object.

For Junior Developers just getting into web development, understanding the fundamental back and forth of both the client
and server is nothing short of necessary.

The XHR object is what gets us started.
XML - a scripting langauge like HTML, but with the ability to create your own tags (we don't write the object with XML; we use Javascript)
HTTP - a ruleset for how clients and servers, backends and frontends, should send data back and forth
Request - the object sent by your browser to the backend; this tells the backend who you are and what you're doing there

We create this object and send dummy data to a dummy site that'll respond back.
This is how we'll know if we're successful in communicating with the backend.

These are the first steps in executing on the request and response nature of web development.

In my continuation of beginner full stack development for junior developers, I take a look at how we use Javascript to capture
data from a form once the user clicks submit.

I review from the previous video what we learned about the method, action, and onsubmit attributes of the HTML form element;
how these attributes...
told our form what code to run once the form was submitted...
whether or not to redirect or refresh after the data had been submitted...
and how to submit that data: the GET or POST methods.

I then take a look at how to replace these HTML solutions with Javascript.
How event listeners can replace 'onsubmit'...
the event object can replace 'action'...
and DOM manipulation can replace 'method'
