Today on Newstalk Breakfast, an apology was issued to John Waters and Gemma O'Doherty over comments that were broadcast yesterday during an interview about a so-called "anti-racism" rally at Roosky on over the weekend. "Comments were made by the interviewee about online racism that might be feeding into rhetoric of certain people such as Gemma O'Doherty and John Waters. Newstalk insisted they did not stand over those comments and asked the interviwee to retract them immediately. Newstalk also said they they would like to make clear that they believed Gemma O'Doherty and John Waters to be professional journalists with excellent reputations and that the comments were untrue, unfounded and unmerited.
