President Cordon taught how we can receive the gift that is the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ.
The humble shepherds of Luke 2 who “came with haste” to the Christ child show the value of promptly responding to God’s invitation to follow His Son, she said.
“Many times, our still, small impressions from the Lord may not be received because they do not fit cleanly into our calendars, our plans or our timing,” President Cordon said. “The Christmas story reminds us to be like these devoted shepherds who did not delay doing what was needed to come to Him and receive their King.”
The wise men of Matthew 2, she added, watched for the signs of the coming of Christ for many years. They sacrificed and endured much to find the King of Kings.
“We can trust in Him even amid sometimes overwhelming circumstances,” she said. “The guidance, even miracles, that come into our lives will probably not be in the hustle and bustle, nor on stages or in stadiums, but in the quiet places where we live and work ― where we go for help. Wherever our humble needs arise, we can and will receive answers to our whispered prayers.”

San Juan Puerto Rico Temple Open House Offers Hope to Storm-Tossed Island
Inspired by the Spanish colonial architecture of the territory’s historical landmarks, the San Juan Puerto Rico Temple is a single-story, 6,988-square-foot structure that sits on a 2.97-acre site.
The public is welcome to participate in the temple’s open house from December 1 through December 17 (except on Sundays). Admission is free. More information can be found here.
The San Juan Puerto Rico Temple is the first in the territory and the third in the Caribbean.
Latter-day Saints consider temples to be the most sacred spaces on the earth and literal houses of the Lord. Inside these holy buildings, faithful Church members make promises to God, feel His Spirit and come closer to Him through sacred ceremonies called ordinances. One such ordinance is the marriage ceremony (known as sealing), which unites families for eternity.

In his 96 years of life, President Russell M. In an interview with Church News, President M. Russell Ballard, Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, said councils need to include and encourage the voice of women.
“Women are a vital voice,” he said.
President Ballard said he questions how a bishop can administer or minister in a ward without counseling with the sisters who lead the Relief Society, Young Women and Primary organizations of the ward.
“I’ve been an advocate all my time as a general authority that the priesthood leaders ought to help call capable, good, smart women…and then they ought to be a full and participating part of a ward council.”
This video, titled “The Voice of Women,” features President Ballard speaking about the need to include and listen to women in ward councils and other council settings.
“Many, many times, the voice of women in a ward council is the most important voice that a bishop can hear,” he said.

Brother Ahmad S. Corbitt: How activism against the Church can blind, mislead ‘valiant’ souls.
While serving as a stake president, Brother Ahmad S. Corbitt was teaching about The Family: A Proclamation to the World in a sacrament service when one brother very publicly walked out in protest.
Although the member had failed to sustain his leaders, Brother Corbitt counseled with him about the impropriety of his method and help him understand prophetic principles. Church leaders also continued to help the brother financially support his family and regain employment.
“We recognized who he really was, overlooked his lapse in judgment and taught him,” Brother Corbitt said.
Brother Corbitt, who now serves as first counselor in the Young Men general presidency, related the experience to Church-endorsed chaplains in early October as an example of what he called activism or advocacy against The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He titled his remarks, “Activism vs. Discipleship, Protecting the Valiant.”
“I would like to address an especially effective tactic Satan is using to blind and mislead the young, those transitioning from other religious traditions and cultures, and even longtime and lifetime members of the Lord’s restored Church,” Brother Corbitt said.
“In my humble view, it is one of the great mists of darkness of our time. I speak of our enemy’s effort to transform disciples of Jesus Christ into activists toward or against the Lord’s Church and its leaders.”

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is guided as members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles work together to seek the will of the Lord.
Members of those quorums are filled with goodness and spiritual insight. “When we are in council, I can say to you the Church is secure and always will be secure,” said President M. Russell Ballard, Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

The interesting part is the link to Mormonism. The mason murdered for exposing the Freemasons Initiation Ceremony ( which Smith plageurised for the Mormon Endowment) was William Morgan ( who's wife later became another of Joseph Smith's polygamous wives).
Those familiar with Mormonsim will see the obvious link to secret blood oaths as practiced in the LDS Temples until 1990 . Mormons would take an Oath and enact the death penalty of throat slitting for revealing the LDS Temple secrets. It was taken out of TheLDS Endowment Ceremony in 1990 together with the other Masonic ritual of the five points of fellowship at the veil.

Before Jesus Christ appeared to the people of Ancient America, they suffered through extreme disasters – earthquakes, storms and fires claimed countless lives and destroyed entire cities. Three days of darkness began.
During the time of vast darkness, widespread suffering caused the surviving people to cry out with intense sorrow – all of which fulfilled the words of the prophets, foretelling the crucifixion of Christ.
Ultimately, the suffering of these ancient people came to a close. They heard the voice of Christ speak to them. The voice of God the Father was heard introducing Jesus as His Beloved Son. The people saw the resurrected Savior come down to earth and minister to them.

General conferences of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints take place every six months. The five sessions of the October 2022 conference (October 1–2) will be broadcast live from Temple Square in Salt Lake City in 70 languages.
We welcome you to participate in the general conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This global, religious broadcast aims to help individuals strengthen their personal relationships with Jesus Christ to experience the peace, hope, and joy that come through following Him. Join with millions of people worldwide to hear inspiring messages from living prophets and apostles.
The global broadcast will originate from the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.
The conference consists of five two-hour sessions happening on Saturday and Sunday, October 1–2, 2022:

The October 2022 World Report features rededicated historic temples in Washington, D.C., and Tokyo, and President Russell M. Nelson marking the announcements of the construction of 100 new temples over the last four years.
The First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles ministered around the globe. For example, Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf visited Ukrainian refugees in Poland. And Elder David A. Bednar addressed the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. — the first time the organization was addressed by a Church leader since President Gordon B. Hinckley spoke to the journalists in 2000.
The October program also documents the Church of Jesus Christ’s historic contribution of US$32 million to the World Food Programme to feed more than 1.6 million people facing extreme hunger. The Church is also supporting many other initiatives, including global efforts to improve educational opportunities for children.
