Aliens vs Predator 2 single player custom map titled "Primal Hunt Star Wars Standoff".

When I was making Star Wars Mod v2.0 - Special Edition for Aliens vs Predator 2 Primal Hunt, I reached out to DooomGuy and asked him if he would like to contribute a map to the mod and he graciously agreed. The guidelines were, it had to be Star Wars related and fit in the Star Wars universe; the rest was up to him. He winded up porting a section of the predalien campaign map and making it his own.

This is a Primal Hunt exclusive map. The player spawns as a stormtrooper with two stormtrooper allies. These allies can be "activated" to change their guns that they carry. The player is immediately exposed to a full armory of weapons, sentry guns and a mounted turret. The player must be quick to arrange the sentry guns before the aliens begin their assault as they entire through the shielded off corridors. There is additional backstory onto why the player is in this situation via the memo on the floor. If the player survives long enough with the aliens, the player will then encounter a surprise guest.

This map is a hybrid style map. It's one part skirmish in that the player can fight aliens infinitely. It also has some elements of tower defense with strategically placing the sentry guns that are spawned on the map from start. Then the map also includes an objective to complete the map.

This map can be hard if sentry guns are placed bad. The allies can easily die from aliens or the player's crossfire. I show in my video a few ways to keep them alive longer. I should note that there are many easter eggs in this map. I won't spoil them here, but you may come across them in the map itself.

I admittedly have a bias grading this map as it is included my mod and I helped contribute some ideas to it. Regardless of that, I love this map. It's tons of fun to play on gameplay alone. Watching the stormtroopers jump around is hysterical. There are also numerous tactics the player can use to win and all the extra easter eggs are the cherry on top.

I highly recommend the map.

The History of the World: Every Year (Incomplete, Beta Version)

I've been working on this for about a year. With the font change option on Mapchart coming, I thought that I actually lost the old font I used. Thankfully, it still can be recovered. Nonetheless, I plan to redo these files you see here for two reasons: #1 - I simply have a lot more things I want to show, and #2 - I do not have links (updated save files) for all these years up until the year 1000 AD.
There is still more to adapt up until the modern day.
The downside is that will take even more time. The upside is that with a proper saved file for each year, this map will be literally perfect.
Given that I'm going to be updating this entire project, and still need to finish the rest, I wanted to show you where I was here, because the final will still look quite different in many areas.
Thank you for all those who've waited for this project as it's been worked on. It is coming to its end.

Map review:

This is the best singleplayer custom map bundled with AVP Movie Mod. I have to admit that I love skin testing maps because they let me mess around with the npcs in ways I typically can't in the singleplayer campaign. In "Skin Test", the player spawns as a predator in a map inspired by the AVP pyramid from the AVP film. The design is very basic, but there are plenty of npcs to view and target for weapon testing.

Included are all the alien and predator types, also multiple Weyland-Yutani npcs. There is something bugged with the first human npc on the left though. After that npc is killed, the map tends to end and the singleplayer marine campaign starts. The aliens in the hive area are extremely hostile and can easily one hit kill the player. Since this map is part of a mod, there are new weapons to choose from, as well has new skins for many of the npcs.

Unfortunately, I was unable to pick up the spear a second time after throwing it. Therefore, I used a cheat code to give unlimited spears. It's extremely fun to throw. Overall, this is a fun map for messing around in.

Map review:

This map is an exact copy of the second half of the "predator missions" map, except here the player plays as a predator instead of a marine. There is a predator npc acting as an escort or ally to the player. The escort is a bit buggy in following the player but it does attack the enemy drone alien npc well. The drones can be spawned via the various switches in the small map. There is not much else to this map as it is a test demo for the escort and the new predator weaponry. It's worth checking out with the entire mod as a whole.

Map review:

"Predator Missions"is a two in one map. The first is a predator map based on the AVP movie. Due to the map being included in a mod, there are new character skins, weapons, sounds, etc. It's all pretty accurate to the film and fun to play. The predator map has two predator ai that should be able to assist the player, but both are fairly broken and won't really help the player. There is another AVP campaign based on this scene from the film and it is better, but this map is fun to play because of the mod changes, despite being relatively short.

The second part of this map starts immediately after the player enters the tunnel. Somehow the player transforms from predator into marine. This part of the map is really a test demo to spawn an alien drone ai to fight against the marine ai. Fortunately, the ai respond much better in this map and the player can test out the new guns.

This mod is worth looking at to try all the mod changes in addition to the map itself.

Campaign review:

This is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to maps. "Hadley's Hope Campaign" mod aka "HHC" comes with 11 maps. It should be noted that this mod is released as a beta. However, all the maps are so unfinished and buggy that they are alpha at best. The first few mission maps are somewhat there, but the remainder of the maps are completely broken. Ok, every map is broken to some degree.

Each map has missing textures, doors that won't open, areas to fall off the map, ai that gets stuck, ai that doesn't move, ai that is missing, lack of lighting, lack of sound, etc. I decided to show all the maps in this mod in one quick compilation because of how short many of them are. I also had to enable all ammo and invincibility cheats just to see areas of some maps that were inaccessible without them. Furthermore, the crosshair was removed in this mod. I don't know why as there is no readme file included with the download.

If all the time spent on these collection of maps was focused on one individual map, there might be a good map here. While the maps aren't good, this mod does have some good marine skins. Some of them only appear in singleplayer. There might be some other changes in gameplay in regards to characters, but I didn't notice them except for the lack of guns on the maps, even after enabling cheat codes.
