Completed the Deep Magma Bog world. The levels here were challenging due to all the lava pits. The boss battle against Bowser Jr was interesting - he clones himself and spins around and in the final faze you have to find the original in the darkness. With all the Royal Wonder Seeds gathered it was finally time to confront Castle Bowser, but not before completing a bunch of 4-star levels. Even at this stage the game throws surprises at you like having to ride missiles to progress in one level and avoiding seeker Bullet Bills in another. Then the final battle against Bowser starts. First you have to reach him by completing a level with a lot of Wonders activating one after the other. It's quite unpredictable, but not brutally difficult. Before you reach Bowser you are taught how to use a timed platform to boost and charge your jump. This was brilliant level design since you'll need that charge jump to do damage to Bowser. He is a floating head with a weak spot underneath his chin, but he also has a bunch of hands which throw stuff at you. The general strategy here is to eliminate all the hands and then go for the head. Eventually a button similar to the ships' cores will appear on to of his head, so you'll have to scale the platforms, destroy the hands and jump on top of it to win. Bowser then loses his Wonder power and you get a generic happy ending. The credits were also fun since you have to collect the names of the developers while stuff happens around you.

Then I went and tried one of the levels in the special world and it was brutal. All of those are 5 stars difficulty and give you some end-game content along with collecting missing Wonder seeds and big purple coins. Finding those is a great application for the Sensor badge.

Super Mario Wonder is a fantastic game. The platforming is solid and the level variety is amazing. The Wonder Flower effects give each level a fresh feeling. The game is a bit on the easy side, but the later stages provide a decent amount of challenge. I wish the same variety was present in the boss battles. Having to defeat Bowser Jr 4 times wasn't all that exciting. Some of the worlds didn't even have a boss battle which was bizarre. This was compensated in the final fight against Bowser, but some more different bosses would've been appreciated. The new power ups fit well even if the elephant form may be slightly OP. The controls are solid and the visuals are great. If you are looking for a good platformer Mario Wonder is an easy choice.

Super Mario 64 (スーパーマリオ64, Sūpā Mario Rokujūyon), commonly abbreviated as SM64, is a Super Mario series game for the Nintendo 64. It was released as a launch title for the console in 1996 in Japan and North America and in 1997 for the rest of the world. On July 18, 1997, a Rumble Pak-compatible re-release of the game, titled Super Mario 64: Shindō Pak Taiō, was released in Japan. This is the first 3D installment of the Super Mario series, let alone the Mario franchise in general.

At the time, it received widespread critical acclaim and has been often said to have defined its genre by being one of the first well-made games of its type. The game has since received a remake on the Nintendo DS in the form of Super Mario 64 DS. There was also going to be a sequel made, called Super Mario 128, but it was canceled. The Super Mario 64: Shindō Pak Taiō re-release is the version included in Super Mario 3D All-Stars for the Nintendo Switch, though with upscaled graphics and a redrawn HUD. At 11.89 million copies, Super Mario 64 is the best-selling Nintendo 64 game.

After spending a ton of purple coins on standees, it turns out that you can get duplicates, which is annoying. It does give you extra things to do with your that currency in the end game, but it's still a lame system. The next world to explore is the Deep Magma Bog. One of the wonders here turns you into a spiky ball of destruction demolishing everything in your way. Some of these wonders are so fun, I wish there were more levels with them. Bowser's flying battleship attacks you again at one point and the Wonder here is that its head will fire at you and you have to dodge it until you get the Wonder Seed.

An interesting new creature I encountered was a tadpole, which eats goombas and you. They open their mouths and charge at you, so you have to make a high jump and a subsequent stomp to kill them. The Wonder Flower in one of the levels turns you into a goomba, so you'll have to avoid these new monsters by hiding behind trees. Another cool wonder was some chompers eating everything in their path, which are only stunned by POW blocks. The next world to explore was the Fungi Mines. There was a cool dark mansion level where there are a ton of boos, which can only be killed by lights activated by switches. for a brief period of time. The Wonder Flower here summons a giant King Boo and you have to escape him. Looking directly at him only slows him down, so you have to balance between avoiding smaller boos and holding off their king. In another stage you have to move through gello pools and you are turned into a slime which can stick to walls. A new action badge I earned was the Grappling Vine, which pulls you towards the surface you are currently facing and sticks you there. Its range is a bit limited, but it gives you a free wall jump. This world also didn't have a boss battle, which was weird. You just get the Royal Seed at the end. Another badge I acquired was the Boosting Spin Jump, which is essentially a double jump and is the best badge so far. The floating jump can screw you over when you have to do mid-height jumps on disappearing platforms, so this one is absolutely better, giving you more control.

The Shining Falls world had a bunch of new creatures including green bugs (I think) which jump when you jump and flying fish. Some of the Wonder Flower effects were related to them like turning the former giant or giving you a bunch of the latter to use as platforms. In several other levels you are turned into the green bug. Weirdly at the end of this world there was no boss battle and you just get the Royal Seed. The next world I reached was the Sunbaked Desert. As the name suggests there were a lot of sandy levels filled with mummies and other vaguely Egypt/arab-related themes. One of the most fun levels was called Ninji Jump Party, which is a musical stage where the ninja-like creatures shout to the beat. This somewhat reminds me of the musical stages in Rayman Legends, which were one of the highlights of that amazing game. A new badge I unlocked was the Crouching High Jump. While it does give you a lot of verticality, it's too situational for general use. In the first 4-star level I tried you had to survive by bouncing off of balloon fish. The palace level was also tough, mainly because of the Wonder Flower effect, which first sped up and then slowed down time, leading to quite a few deaths. This level had a boss fight against Bowser Jr and this time he used water to move around. He wasn't particularly difficult, so I obtained the next Royal Seed.

After several somewhat challenging water levels you get to a cloud world called Fluff-Puff Peaks in search of another Royal Seed. Here there are a bunch of ice levels with slippery surfaces and creatures kicking ice blocks your way. There also was a Search Party level, where you have to find 5 Wonder Tokens, but I have a feeling that for one of them you need to have a friend. I also discovered the Floating High Jump badge, which gives you that ability when you hold on the jump button. That's extremely useful for when you need to make a long or a high jump. At one point a flying battleship attacks you and at the end of that level you have to destroy the Bowser engine. It spews bombs at you and I initially assumed you have to return them to its mouth, but it turns out that there's a big red button you have to press to win. The boss of the world is Bowser Jr. again, but this time he has a different wonder power, which turns the floor into a different material, so you have to be constantly on the move to avoid his attacks. Eventually I beat him and got the Royal Seed removing another Piranha Plant protecting castle Bowser.

Super Mario Bros Wonder is the newest 2D Mario platformer from Nintendo. Like most Mario games the plot isn't anything mind-blowing. Mario and friends are invited to a party in the Flower Kingdom by Prince Florian, who is a caterpillar. Bowser immediately crashes the party, but when he touches a Wonder Flower he is fused with a castle and causes all sorts of mayhem. Our heroes vow to stop him and the game starts. You get to pick from a cast of characters including Mario, Luigi, Peach and notably Daisy, who has her first appearance in quite a while. Then there are the Yoshi's and Nabit, who are impervious to damage, but don't get powerups - I guess those are for the kids playing the game. The controls are pretty standard for a Mario game - you get a jump and a run button, you can slam the ground from a jump and there is an extra button doing a vertical high jump. There are classic power ups like the Fire Flower allowing you to throw fireballs, but also a new one like the Elephant Fruit, which transforms you into an elephant. In that form you can attack with your trunk and if you pass through water you can spray at enemies. There are wonder flowers in some levels and when you pick them up something weird will happen. Maybe the pipes will start moving, or the Piranha Plants will start singing. Perhaps a horde of bulls will charge your way. These changes are pretty much unique for every level. Usually at the end of the effect of the Wonder Flower you can get a Wonder Seed as a reward. You also get those for completing levels and they are necessary to progress further in the game by unlocking new levels. Plus finding all of them gives the level some replayability. Aside from the classic gold coins you can also gather flower coins, which are used to purchase items at the market like extra lives or badges. The badges give you and extra ability and you can equip only one at a time. For example one of them allows you to glide in the air while another enables you to jump off walls.

The first boss of the game is Bowser Jr, who you face in a fun size shifting battle. Once you defeat him you proceed to the next world, which has its own separate colour of Wonder Seeds. The game is incredibly fun and unique so far and I'm looking forward to play more of it.
