In 1989 two hikers called for help in one of Japan's beautiful national parks. After police searched for them from a sign they had seen from above, investigators learned that two hikers were not responsible for the SOS sign.
The subsequent events would lead down a mystery that is still unsolved to this day.

Here are some thoughts and ideas about the disappearance while on the search. After having searched the area I no longer think it likely Paul was lost there but perhaps in a similar location. Paul Miller went for a hike the morning of 7/13/18 on the 49 Palms Oasis Trail at Joshua Tree National Park and was never seen again. I’m an independent volunteer who occasionally hikes the trail in search of clues. I’m making videos of my searches for the benefit of the Miller family, their friends and my comrades at Websleuths.
At the trailhead of the 49 Palms Oasis Trail on 07/13/19. Paul went missing from the trail one year ago, 07/13/18.
