Repossessing a motorcycle is more complex and dangerous than a car. If the repo man does not return with the motorcycle, they won’t get paid. Motorcycles may be recovered less than 10% of the time. People in the repo industry says that Harley Davidson expects them to basically work for free.
Harley Davidson provides lending for customers to finance their purchase. When customers don’t pay their loan, Harley will contract with repossession agents to tow away the vehicles.
The company is reporting a credit loss rate of 3.2% in the first quarter versus its typical rate of 2%. However, they claim Q1 is the worst because custoemrs tend to make their payments during riding season in the spring and summer, then becoming delinquent in fall and winter.
The workforce in the repossession industry may have shrank by 40% over the last few years due to stimulus and other benefits that helped customers pay bills, as well as repossession moratoriums. Many repo men switched to roadside assistance.

The Isle of Man TT, the deadliest race on Earth, returned this weekend after two consecutive COVID cancellations. Sadly, so did the fatalities.
Driving the news: Five competitors died at this year's event, the second-most ever behind 1970 (six). Among them were Roger and Bradley Stockton, a father-son duo from England. Bradley was just 21.
There are calls for the race to be banned, but competitors say they know the risks — and even families of the deceased want it to continue.
The family of Mark Purslow, a 29-year-old who died this weekend, said they take solace in knowing that "if he was going to go this would be the way he would want to, and that he would be smiling."
The big picture: Overall, 265 competitors have died in races on the island's infamous 37.7-mile Mountain Course since the TT's 1907 debut.
The race lost its world championship status in 1976 after a particularly bad spate of deaths (20 from 1970 to 1975), but the participants' love of the event has kept it going strong 50 years later.
Another key to its survival is the economic boost it provides the small island nation. 46,000 visitors spent $46 million during the 2019 event, which is about one-third of the nation's annual tourism income.
How it works: This year's event comprised eight races across six different vehicle classes: five single-rider motorcycles and one with a passenger riding in a sidecar.
The format for all races is time trial, with each competitor's start staggered by about 10 seconds. Schools are closed during race week and the day of the Senior TT is a public holiday.
Prize money is paid out based on how you finish each lap, with more money awarded later in the race. If you win all six laps of the most prestigious race, the Senior TT, you get $22,000.
Between the lines: Plenty of motorcycle races feature riders streaking along at speeds that rival the 200 mph that competitors can reach at the Isle of Man TT. So why is this one so much more lethal?
The primary reason is the course itself, which is not purpose-built for a high-speed motorcycle race.
It's a 38-mile circuit through the mountains filled with blind turns on tree- and stonewall-lined roads, leaving little margin for error.
The bottom line: "The concept of mortality underpins everything here," per NYT. "It gives the race its prestige, opens it to criticism, makes it exhilarating, makes it terrifying. It puts the island on the map."

cooked up some corn beef with extra corn, diced red onion, bell peppers, chili peppers, taco seasoning and habanaro sauce.. topped with lettuce and shreddy cheese with a sriachi mayo for one tasty taco....
used the left over cornbeef mix mixed with a diced tater and topped with shreddy cheese for breakfast...

What an amazing weekend for November.. loaded up the bike and headed north 2 hrs to some crown land full of hunters and a few die hard campers ... I don't think rifle/shotgun for deer opens until monday.. I think there was some target shooting going on or something...
got the high ground right by the boat ramp.. an amazing view up there from my Haventents hammock.
didn't know there was a severe wind warning in effect until after I was into my ceasers... everything was soaked from driving rains by morning.. so I hung out at camp longer then normal while things dryed.. had a big breakfast and did some exploring...
I think this is my last one for the season as my next chance out is the girlfriends birthday and I probably can't sneak out for that one.. so it would be December before I get out again... unless we get some weird warm weekend....

4 day weekend on some crown land with Mike and Richard camping beside a 16' cliff over looking a beauty lake. Some fishin, swiming and drinking... a great time as always...

didn't video much this weekend... took a few nice photos.. but just enjoyed the lake and whiskey.... #shorts
did a overnight moto camp this thanksgiving weekend at a lake back on some crown land I've been meaning to get to for almost 2 years now.
cooked up a instant thanksgiving dinner with canned turkey, stuffing, mash taters, corn, gravy and a pumpkin beer.
was a horrible 2hr ride up in the rain at 10*c and got down to -2c over night.
just a mashup of pictures from this years camping trips on the bike.. what an amazing season... time for me and the bike to go into hibernation until spring.
Trying out a tarp/shower curtain super shelter in the bush.. had a long fire out front and a wood reflector to try and keep warm at night... had my 5x7 survival tarp folded under my insulated haven sleeping pad.. me hotcore200 sleeping bag.. was good and toasty..
Had fish tacos for lunch, dinner and breakfast the following day..
Out for a camp with Mike n' Richard on Paddys Lake.. Haven't filmed the past 3 camping trips... just been relaxing and enjoying camping.... also been down with the sickness..'rona for a bit...
SORRY ABOUT THE SHITE AUDIO....... I was trying a new shotgunn mic.. it didn't pick up worth a poo when I was behind the camera, and picked up alot of my hand on the stick noise.... ill go back to my omni directional movo mic for the future....

Bike kept cutting out. Engine kept croaking. Instruments went silly.
Had wired-in some extra V-Sys cameras and mucked around with powering 'em. Turned out I had not tightened a battery connector! Oops!
The FJR 1300 Yamaha still got me there and back though.
Whether this was intentional or not this is terrible. By the looks of it both were riding on the line and were not going to move. Was this a game of chicken? Wtf
