Concept EP “Wolves of Hyrkania (Gothunni Metal Cut)” is inspired by the tales and history of the Goths and the Huns — the former hailing from Scandinavia and the latter from the Eurasian steppe — these groups fought each other, lived with each other, and died together.

The might and kingship of the valiant Goths and the archery of the horse-born Huns came to be known, respected and feared across Europe as the Gothunni (also known as the Ostrogoths.)

This song is like a breath of fresh air

===

► Lyrics:

In every corridor that shifted the maze
No single part of you was ever the same
Now we're so tired by the things we have seen
All we've forgotten only visits in dreams

How I misunderstood
Here I stand undressed
Here I confess my doubt
Did you know that I would
From this fractured lens
We're unveiled again and again

Sometimes I get the feelin' I'm lost
Just hidin' it is never enough
Now I find in every mirror a ghost
Only once I saw the killer
Once I saw the killer up close

Heaven's over now
I know it's gone
I know it's over now
If colder heavens come
Carry me further down
Where our madness rests
Where I'll have less to doubt
All I misunderstood
My abandoned friend
Our parade has already left

Sometimes I get the feelin' I'm lost
Just hidin' it is never enough
Now I find in every mirror a ghost
Only once I saw the killer
Once I saw the killer up close [x2]

Heavens over now
Gone away
Heavens over now
Gone away
Away
Gone away

I love the primal instrumental rhytm and voice of Eivor's musical pieces and while listening to her it suddenly dawned on me how people have been kind of spellbound and bewitched by the sorcerers of the modern medial age. The electronic programming, predictive programming spreading of lies, propaganda utilizing hollywood magical effects embedded deep within entertainment and music as to muse and enchant us.

Two versions included; Live and Studio version. Eivør sings in Faroese which is a Norse / Saxon / Scandinavian language dialect spoken primarely by the people living on the Faroe Islands. It's closely reminiscent of the present day Icelandic language. With the addition of traditional tribal instrumental rythms which immediately brings to mind a simpler way of seeing things in our world in our time. --- Lyrics in Faroese ---

Trøllabundin eri eg eri eg
Galdramađur festi meg festi meg
Trøllabundin djúpt í míni sál í míni sál
Í hjartanum logar brennandi bál brennandi bál

[Faroese throat singing]

Trøllabundin eri eg eri eg
Galdramađur festi meg festi meg
Trøllabundin inn í hjartarót í hjartarót
Eyga mítt festist har iđ galdramađur stóđ

[Faroese throat singing]

--- English translation ---

Spellbound / Bewitched am I, am I
The witcher has fastened me, fastened me
Bound deep in my Soul, in my Soul
In my heart a bonfire burns, bonfire burns

[Faroese throat singing]

Spellbound / Bewitched am I, am I
The witcher has fastened me, fastened me
Bound in the heart's root, the heart's root
Eyes of mine are Fastened to where the witcher stand

[Faroese throat singing]

Linguistics: Faroese is spoken on the Faroe islands located between Scotland and Iceland and is a norse (northern saxony/germanic) language dialect. This dialect have remained quite intact over the decades and even longer (dare I say millenia?) primarely I presume due to its isolated location. The mainlanders languages and dialects differ quite a bit from those dialects today. Like with modern Norwegian, Swedish and Danish mainstream dialects. But this older dialect still persist and are spoken by a few even today. You can see a similar phenomenon in Ireland with the Gaelic language dialects. Please comment if you can help better the translation. Any Faroe speaking poeple out there? The original english translations online are waaay off according to the few faroe/icelandic speaking people out there who cared to comment on it.

Norse Lore: The word Trolla / Troll also refers to beings called trolls. Trolls are mythical beings out of stone and mineral that avoids the light and live in dark places often located under mountains, large rockformations or caves ergo, in dark, shadowy places. They were believed to possess the ability to magicly shapeshift into animal or human form possessing and utilizing great beuty and charm. They were said to be able to bewitch / bind humans (troll-bind) and kidnap them by using their troll-magic. The norse word 'trolla' still mean - performing magic. They were also believed to be thieves and barterers but one could only deal with them If one was also protected against their powers by wearing special troll-protection charms (search for an image of it) One could then communicate with them safely. They were also known to possess great quantities of gold, silver and jewels which they presumably hid in their shadowy dens. Search for John Bauer and his books and illustrations of trolls and fairies (elves) which are based on old norse folklore tales.

Enjoy!

A song by the German Neofolk / Pagan folk band Falkenstein based on a poem by Ludwig Uhland, written in 1834. Album: The Great Goddess, released in 2011. Johann Ludwig "Louis" Uhland (born April 26, 1787 in Tübingen, † November 13, 1862 ibid) was a German poet, literary scholar, lawyer and politician (Member of the first pan-German parliament, the Frankfurt National Assembly). He also wrote the poem "The Good Comrade", which is also known today under the title "I had a comrade".
Ein Lied der deutschen Neofolk-/Pagan-Folk-Band Falkenstein nach einem Gedicht von Ludwig Uhland aus dem Jahre 1834. Album: Die große Göttin, veröffentlicht 2011. English translation below. Johann Ludwig „Louis“ Uhland (* 26. April 1787 in Tübingen; † 13. November 1862 ebenda) war ein deutscher Dichter, Literaturwissenschaftler, Jurist und Politiker (Abgeordneter im ersten gesamtdeutschen Parlament, der Frankfurter Nationalversammlung).
Er hat auch das Gedicht "Der gute Kamerad" verfasst, das heute auch unter dem Titel "Ich hatte einen Kameraden" bekannt ist.

English translation:
Solstice
Now the sun should end
Her longest, most beautiful course,
How she hesitates to turn
After the calm ocean!
Her goddess's youth tilt
Feels the foreboding nature
And it seems to me to be gently silent
All around the evening meadows

Only the quail, which otherwise always
awakens the morning scoldly up,
Calls towards the overtired shimmer
now another wake up call
And the lark rises while singing
High up from the fragrant valley,
To get a look still
Into the already sunken beam.

Text:
Nun die Sonne soll vollenden
Ihre längste, schönste Bahn,
Wie sie zögert, sich zu wenden
Nach dem stillen Ocean!
Ihrer Göttin Jugendneige
Fühlt die ahnende Natur,
Und mir dünkt, behutsam schweige
Rings die abendliche Flur.

Nur die Wachtel, die sonst immer
Frühe schmälend weckt den Tag,
Schlägt dem überwachten Schimmer
Jetzt noch einen Weckeschlag;

A song by the Austrian neofolk band Sturmpercht about an alpine mythical creature. English translation below. English translation below.
Based on a poem by Joseph Victor von Scheffel which he wrote in 1863 for the opening of the alpine inn "Zum feurigen Tatzelwurm". The Tatzelwurm is an alpine mythical animal. It is considered a small relative of dragons and lindworms and is said to occur primarily in the Alpine region and in the Alpine foothills. The name is made up of the German word for paw, which may also mean leg or claw, depending on the context, and worm, that means paw worm. It is a "Semi-dragon" with a snake-like abdomen and two pawed forelegs. According to largely similar reports and myths, the creatures grow to be between 50 and 200 centimeters long and have a reptile-like body and a head that resembles a big cat. They live in tunnels and caves, which they themselves dig into the rocks. Although generally described as relatively shy, they are also considered dangerous and aggressive and are believed to have attacked humans and animals. It has been sighted again and again in modern times. So far there are about 80 eyewitness accounts. In 1935, a tatzelwurm is said to have been photographed in the Aare Gorge in the eastern Bernese Oberland, as the "Berliner Illustrirte Zeitung" claimed. The newspaper also suspended a reward for a trapped specimen. The Tatzelwurm is still the mascot of the Aare Gorge today. According to various zoologists, the tatzelwurm could be the actually existing Gila crust lizard from North America, which can also grow to a length of about 50 cm. Other zoologists were of the opinion that it could be confunded with another type of reptile or even with otters if they were spotted far away from waters in an area where they are otherwise unknown to the locals. A deliberate misleading may also exist in some cases.

Lyrics:
The Dance of the Tatzelwurm
In the time when a mountain lake, clear and big
Was still flowing in the depths of these valleys,
In great splendour here
I have lived, loved and also dragoned
As a Tatzlwurm.

Chorus:
Father, watch from the heavenly tower,
Protect us from the Tatzlwurm!

From the Pendling to the Wendelstein
Rock and air and water were mine.
I flew, I walked and lay in a roll,
instead of hay I slept on gold
As a Tatzlwurm.

Horny skin and scales covered my body
And fire-spitting was my pastime
And everything that crawled up the mountain,
I blew away and ate it up.
As a Tatzlwurm.

Father, watch from the heavenly tower,
Protect us from the Tatzlwurm!
Father, watch from the heavenly tower,
Protect us from the Tatzlwurm!

But when I forgot my manners so much
And ate herdswomen raw,
The great Flood came gruesomely
And extinguished my mountain tavern
"The Tatzlwurm Inn".

Now I adorn as a painting
The new shield of the Schweinsteiger.
The herdswoman is whooping with joy
And no one fears the fire-spitting
Of the Tatzlwurm.

And when one of these very erudite intellectuals repasses
And sneers and says: "It's all over for this one!
It was a prehistoric creature.
But wise men never saw
the Tatzlwurm."

Doubting scepticals! Just stop in,
and drink Tyrolean wine after beer!
No matter if you flee as far afield as Kufstein,
You feel that I have snorted at you
As a Tatzlwurm.

And seriously the innkeeper says:
"Heavens! Where did they stray from?"
The knees are shaking, the head is full of storm,
They all have seen the Tatzlwurm!
The Tatzlwurm!

Ein Lied der deutschen Neofolk-Band Forseti: Sturmgeweiht.
A song by the German Neofolk band Forseti: Sturmgeweiht (consecrated to the storm).
Text:
Sturmes Boten fern am Himmel
Mit einer dunklen Flut aus Regen
Naht ein tobendes Gewitter
Bringt uns unheilvollen Segen
Wir, die immer vorwärts blicken
Keiner Seele etwas schulden
Müssen jetzt durch Groll und Sühne
Eines Gottes Zorn erdulden

Eines Gottes, der da waltet
Und uns richtet nur zugrunde
Uns nur straft mit seinem Spotte
Unaufhörlich schmerzt die Wunde
Mag es stürmen, mag es hageln
Donner, Blitz und Ungeheuer
Aus dem Himmel auf uns stürzen
Soll es brennen, dieses Feuer!

Soll es brennen und uns schüren
Für den nächsten Opfergang
Kein Gott trübt des Menschen Würde
Wir sind frei ein Leben lang
Ein Leben lang – sind wir frei
Wir sind frei ein Leben lang
Ein Leben lang – sind wir frei
Wir sind frei ein Leben lang
---------------------------------
English translation:
Storm messengers far away in the sky
With a dark flood of rain
A raging thunderstorm is approaching
Bring unfortunate blessings to us
We, who always look forward
Don't owe anything to any soul
Must now through grudge and atonement
To endure a God's wrath

A god who reigns
And just ruins us
Just punishes us with his mockery
The wound continues to hurt
May it storm, may it hail
Thunder, lightning and monsters
Fall on us from the sky
Let it burn, this fire!

Let it burn and foment us
For the next sacrifice
No god tarnishes human dignity
We are free for a lifetime
For a lifetime - we are free
We are free for a lifetime
For a lifetime - we are free
We are free for a lifetime

English below.
A song by the German Neofolk / Pagan folk band Falkenstein, founded in 2007 by Tobias Franke from Allgäu, who is the only band member who always records all instruments by himself. A place of power is a place that is said to have a mostly positive psychological effect in the sense of calming down, strengthening or expanding awareness. Striking geographical locations such as springs, gorges, mountain peaks, caves, rocks, stones, old trees and clearings are often considered places of strength, especially when myths and legends surround them.

Text:

English translation:
Do you feel this place, do you feel this power
The ancestors omnipresent power
Eternal was the time when no one was seen,
who understood the power of the old place.
Exalted old and proud, the holy oak lives
As long as the ancestors spirit wears them.

Refrain:
The old long forgotten story
Revives and heals the wounds of that time
Mysterious looks and faces
Expand your mind, you are liberated

Voices are never silent, the wind blows through their leaves.
The story she tells is old.
Every old stone now shares its strength,
do you see the place's long forgotten power?
Do you feel this place, do you feel this power
The ancestors omnipresent power

Music and lyrics by ForNull.
LYRICS:
We see in your eyes
We see in your eyes
We know all your lies
You know we despise
We're growing the hate
We're growing the hate

Can you see your death coming clearer?
Social justice swinging from a tree
Fuck your games the end is getting nearer
Letting fly your bloody destiny

Your time is all out
The clock's running out
There's nowhere to hide
You're nothing inside
No stopping the train
In comes your pain

Can you see your death coming clearer?
Social justice swinging from a tree
Fuck your games the end is getting nearer
Letting fly your bloody destiny

Rome is a neofolk and martial industrial band founded by Jérôme Reuter.

To a find a cooler place in the grass
To brave my fire
A jury heard, a sentence passed
To brave my fire

We lust for the wine you bolt
Like all things impure, like all things undead
We beg from these swine
Who told you to love and endure
And to live in our stead

The whores of rome and the kings of france
Have tried to brave my fire
Now the snakes curl up, the curtains part
Will you try to brave my fire?

We lust for the wine you bolt
Like all things impure, like all things undead
We beg from these swine
Who told you to love and endure
And to live in our stead

To find a little place in the grass
Tune up for the funeral march
Keep your treason brittle as glass
You could have been the first
Could have been the last, to brave my fire.

We lust for the wine you bolt
Like all things impure, like all things undead
We beg from these swine
Who told you to love and endure
And to live in our stead.

A song by the German Neofolk project Leger des Heils from the album of the same name released in 2010.
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leger_des_Heils

Denn zur Trauer besteht keine Not

Triumphgesang, der hallet überall
Verbannt der Sturm, der unsre Kräfte nahm
Das Leben verschenkt keine Zeit,
Bis zum Tod ist jeder bereit,
Zu kämpfen bis in alle Ewigkeit

Interpret: Leger des Heils
Album: "Über Liebe, Leben Und Tod" (2010)

English translation:
Fresh up for the day, the sun over us
the hearts shine and give new courage
Everywhere this difficult time, we are ready for anything
The new spirit grows on the wings of hope

Blazing goal, the way is still very far
Nothing is stopping us, the gods' strength enclosed
Love is our shield, the soul our spear
So we move forward as a world army

Chorus:
Raise the glasses and sing all the songs
About love, life and death
Let the hearts shine again and again
Because there is no need for grief

Triumphal song echoes everywhere
Banished the storm that took our strength
Life doesn't waste time
Everyone is ready until death
To fight until all eternity
