Bambi updates us from Bambi's Vintage Boutique (located in the French Quarter) about what's happening in New Orleans since we last spoke about three (3) weeks ago. She discusses the Black Lives Matter protests in New Orleans, the pressure in the marketplace; building an online store presence; the restaurant business; her Japanese kimono collection, film and acting and the meaning and order of "The Universe".

Currently, Bambi is producing video stories for French Quarter New Orleans restaurants that have been affected by this current pandemic. The videos serve as a public relations communication tool. Fishing Bayou St John New Orleans July 13, 2019
Hurricane Barry
light to moderate rain
30 mph winds blowing north

Randal was out of town for a few weeks, and he was itching to fish, no matter the weather.
The storm was mild so I decided to join him.
the water was more clean than I expected, the water had a visibility of 24 inches. The water was very choppy and wind blown.

I honestly did not expect to catch any fish at all.
I caught 4 fish and Randal caught two bass on topwater.

Bayou St John, New Orleans, Louisiana

My favorite spot to fish in New Orleans is Bayou St John. After a hiatus for the hottest part of the summer I am ready to go fishing again. It has been about 5 weeks since I last wet a line.

It was a hot fall day leading into a beautiful warm fall night. I loaded up the bicycle trailer and headed to spot on the Mirabeau bridge. I brought my battery and green led light. I brought my blue bait keeper, floating net, to keep live bait fish. I brought a minnow trap to use as a chum bucket, in the chum bucket I placed some dog food and frozen bait fish.

The green LED light attracts beau coup minnows, they just swim circles around light. I’m not sure if the light helps me catch more fish.

90º f, winds out of the south east 6mph. Water temp 80º f. 24 inches visibility.

Early in the session I caught a few small bait fish, sunfish and spot croaker. I would later use these fish to try to catch a gar. I through out live fish under a float. Using the float method, I hooked a big gar, but I was using on 10 pound test leader, that fish broke me off quickly. After that fish broke me off I switched to sight fishing for gar with a lure, a small 1.5 inch crank-bait. I had success hooking two fish. Booth fish were not landed, one broke a treble hook and the other broke my line.

next time I will change my rig and try to land a good size gar.

'Unreal': New Orleans Mayor Blames Trump For Mardi Gras Not Being Canceled (Who Wants To Tell Her?)

We’ve seen continuous examples of Democrats and the media (pardon the redundancy) blaming anything and everything related to the coronavirus outbreak on President Trump. Now that there’s a worsening problem in New Orleans in the wake of Mardi Gras, that city’s mayor is following suit: New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell blames Trump for her not canceling Mardi Gras: "When it’s not taken seriously at the federal level. It’s very difficult to transcend down to the local level in making these decisions." -- Accountability takes another holiday! The mayor of New Orleans blames Donald Trump for not being the mayor of New Orleans? Some of these politicians are getting beyond parody.

Deflecting Blame 101 must be a required course in Politician correspondence courses, cause they all excell in it!!! Do you need Trump's permission to pick up the trash and clean the streets too? It’s funny how Dems have gone from “we’re not going to do what Trump wants” to “we didn’t do that because Trump didn’t tell us to” in record time.
