Today, we are going to learn about proportional modelling, to make some interesting shapes out of things.
We are also going to learn some new modelling tools in Blender.
We are going to learn how to add curves into our scene, namely circles.
We are going to turn those curves into a mesh.
Then we are going to emit the asteroids we model from those mesh circles, to add realism to our solar system.
We’re on the home stretch guys. We are more than half way done this tutorial set. Today, we help make our solar system even more realistic, by creating asteroids for it.
While our solar system has 10s of thousands of asteroids, nobody would even want to model each and every single one and placing them around in the asteroid belt. So how can we have a realistic amount of asteroids in our scene.
In 3d programs and game engines, we have a system called particles. We can spread particles all around in our scenes or game engines, that will spread what we want to spread.
So we only need to make a few asteroids and then use the particle effects to spread our asteroids all across our solar system, but emitting them from other objects.
