We try out the preparation of manganese (III) acetate, a compound containing a very unusual manganese oxidation state, via the preparation of manganese (II) acetate, and then by oxidising this using potassium permanganate.
POTASSIUM PERMANGANATE OXIDATION TEST.......Just showing a couple ways to test a compound before actually doing a reaction. I can not show everything but just wanted to give some ideas..........KEEP IN MIND THIS VIDEO WAS DELETED 6 TIMES AND THEN MAGICALLY REAPPEARED SO POSTED IT BEFORE IT WAS FULLY EDITED AND FINISHED
HOW TO GET POTASSIUM PERMANGANATE. This oxidizer does anything from making aldyhydes, carboxylic acids diols bond cleavage and many other things. Very important for any home lab.... I finally found an MSDS and it says 60 to 100% but there is no date and it does not say what the contaminants are. It sure is purple.........i think the contaminant is greensand.............Glauconite particles are one of the main components of greensand. Glauconite is an iron potassium phyllosilicate (mica group) mineral of characteristic green color with very low weathering resistance and very friable.
