PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- As many Philadelphians prepare to celebrate the holiday, the city continues to be plagued by an unrelenting surge in violence and crime.
Police say 10 people were shot Friday, including two victims who did not survive in separate incidents.
And at least one other person was stabbed following an incident in Center City.
Police were on the scene of a quintuple shooting just before 3 p.m. on the 7700 block of Ogontz Avenue.
Police say a 30-year-old man was shot three times, including once in the face.
The victim, whose identity remains unknown, was transported to Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Four other adults suffered injuries but have been listed in stable condition, officials say.
Hours later, before 7 p.m. in the city's Olney section, police were on scene for a triple shooting on the 200 block of W. Duncannon Avenue.
Police say a 24-year-old man was shot once in the right leg and once in the right foot.
A 37-year-old man was also shot in the right leg, police say.
Officials confirm a 33-year-old man was shot in the left foot and sustained a graze wound to the left thigh. .....

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania — Philadelphia police released body camera video of two officers shooting Walter Wallace Jr. on Oct. 26. The video and audio released captures Wallace's final moments, the 911 calls that led up to it, and the neighborhood erupting in shock and grief after seeing and hearing the shots. Police say Wallace, a 27-year-old man, ignored two officers orders to drop a knife before they opened fire on him during a house call. Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw identified the two patrol officers who opened fire on Wallace as Officers Sean Matarazzo, 25, and Thomas Munz, 26. Neither had more than three years of experience in the department. Ok, here is what I am saying when I call: I would like a little insight into why poll watchers are not being allowed into the polling stations.
They will say "we don't have any information on that". Take the conversation where it goes and hold your ground, telling them they do know. At the end, state "The Jewish community controls the elections, YOU have the answer to this, and then tell them bye.
I have not had any scream "anti semite" yet, as long as they don't do that, then keep it as calm as possible. The call should be as short as you can make it and get the point across.
Demand an answer, but do not make any threats.
Synagogues are easily found, just type synagogue and the city you want to call to into any search engine. Keep it cool, MAKE NO THREATS. Just let them know without telling them we know they are stealing this.

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Two men have been charged for allegedly possessing illegal explosives after they were discovered inside a green van on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway late Wednesday night. Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro says Brian Larue and Eric Murray have been charged with possession of weapons of mass destruction, conspiracy, and risking a catastrophe.
Prosecutors say Philadelphia police observed a caravan of 10 to 15 cars in the city Wednesday night try to ram a Target parking lot barricade.
Officers pursued the convoy to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway where the green conversion van pulled over and removed tape that was covering the vehicle’s license plate.
Officers stopped the van and a search revealed the suspects were holding “a quarter or half stick of dynamite,” a propane torch, a taser and various tools.
Prosecutors say the explosives and tools are commonly used to break into ATMs. Officials say there have been at least 30 ATM bombings in the city during the unrest following the police shooting of Walter Wallace Jr.
