A little before Halloween in 2003 (on October 17), Future Games released the first part of their dark family history series, The Black Mirror. Published by The Adventure Company, the game was criticized rather strongly in the United States, with many faults being cited, including the English voice-over actors' performances. However, a strong darkness to the atmosphere and the initial build-up of the mystery has equally been praised as high points of the game.

As a point-and-click, there is a minimal interface for the game: LMB and RMB handle most controls, including a context-sensitive mouse pointer to indicate differences in actions (like examination of an object vs. obtaining an item). The game is old enough that it doesn't play well with modern technology. It took quite a bit of doing, but I *believe* I've finally got it running decently on Windows 10 (via Steam).

When Samuel Gordon returns to his family's manor following the death of his grandfather, William, he soon discovers a series of others' actions and a strange, oppressive weight hanging over the place may have contributed to William's death . . . at least in part. Can Samuel discover enough clues during his time back to determine what *actually* happened? Let's play The Black Mirror and see whether we can avoid a similar fate.

Vincent Lade released his two-part game, Deathbloom, on May 16, 2019 on the Steam PC platform. The game has garnered high praise generally, with specific mentions of its tension, music, and combat. Although a relatively new developer in the horror genre, Lade has released a few other games in addition to Deathbloom. The gameplay style of this particular game differs somewhat from others of the developer's projects.

The typical W, A, S, and D are used for movement, with mouse movement handling the camera. F is used to interact with or examine objects. Mouse buttons are used when a weapon is equipped — RMB blocks (mêlée weapons) or aims (firearms) and LMB attacks or shoots. H is used to holster a weapon or to put it away. This is a playthrough of the Master System version of the game "Earthworm Jim", playing on the Normal difficulty. It is actually a very truncated and lazy port of the Game Gear conversion, removing a huge portion of the game leaving only 4 main levels total (without the "What the Heck" boss sections but it includes "Andy Asteroids" in-between stages) and poor optimizations overall. This is from a failed recording of the game "Duke Nukem II". In Level 5 of Episode Three, if you jump over the pillar in the upper right corner of the level, you will be trapped in an area with no escape unless you happen to have the flamethrower weapon on hand. Thankfully I saved so I had to start this level from the beginning again and finish the episode from there.

This game can get pretty weird sometimes lol, I think one of this game's bigger flaws is that it takes itself a little too seriously in some areas.

Eleventy8 plays God of War (2018) on the PS5. Only took roughly two years to get here but we're as curious as a prepubescent teen holding their first porn mag!

God of War is an action-adventure game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE). Released worldwide on April 20, 2018, for the PlayStation 4 (PS4), it is the eighth instalment in the God of War series, the eighth chronologically, and the sequel to 2010's God of War III. Unlike previous games, which were loosely based on Greek mythology, this instalment is rooted in Norse mythology, with the majority of it set in ancient Scandinavia in the realm of Midgard. For the first time in the series, there are two protagonists: Kratos, the former Greek God of War who remains the only playable character, and his young son Atreus. Following the death of Kratos' second wife and Atreus' mother, they journey to fulfil her request that her ashes be spread at the highest peak of the nine realms. Kratos keeps his troubled past a secret from Atreus, who is unaware of his divine nature. Along their journey, they encounter monsters and gods of the Norse world.
