"Beautiful Ones" is a personal favorite of Simply 80's as it encompasses the raw emotion delivered brilliantly by this amazing performer!
"The Beautiful Ones" is the third track on Prince and the Revolution's soundtrack album Purple Rain. It was one of three songs produced, arranged, composed, and performed by Prince, the other two being "When Doves Cry" and "Darling Nikki". The song was recorded at Sunset Sound in Los Angeles by Peggy Mac and David Leonard[2] on September 20, 1983. The song replaced "Electric Intercourse" on the Purple Rain album.
The version on the Purple Rain album is slightly cut; a longer version of the song exists.
"The Beautiful Ones" was originally said to be written for Susannah Melvoin (Revolution band member Wendy's twin sister) to woo her away from her then-boyfriend. The timeline fits, as Susannah was seeing someone else when she met Prince in May 1983. The notion that the song was written for her was also confirmed by engineer Susan Rogers. Melvoin has admitted that she isn't completely sure about the genesis of the song: "I can't say that the song was exactly our story, but he wrote it during that time," Melvoin says in Let's Go Crazy: Prince and the Making of Purple Rain. "He wasn't always specifically writing about what he was going through, because he also had to be consistent with the Purple Rain storyline, but he was drawing from things that had happened in his life."
Only much later, during a 2015 interview with Ebony magazine, did Prince finally identify who the beautiful one really was: Denise Matthews aka Vanity, his one-time protégé and girlfriend. The pair had met in 1980, with Prince bestowing the stage name Vanity, as he felt looking at her was like looking at the female version of himself. She would go on to inspire some of his biggest early hits. He also created a band around her, Vanity 6, for which he wrote songs and produced.
Prince Rogers Nelson (June 7, 1958 – April 21, 2016), known simply as Prince, or Logo. Hollow circle above downward arrow crossed with a curlicued horn-shaped symbol and then a short bar, was an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, actor, and director. Widely regarded as one of the greatest musicians of his generation, he often played most or all instruments on his recordings. He was known for his flamboyant and androgynous persona, eclectic work, and wide vocal range, which included a far-reaching falsetto and high-pitched screams.
Prince's music incorporated a wide variety of styles, including funk, R&B, Latin, rock, new wave, classical, soul, synth-pop, psychedelia, pop, jazz, and hip hop. He pioneered the Minneapolis sound, a funk rock subgenre that emerged in the late 1970s. He had a prolific output, releasing 39 albums during his life, with a vast array of unreleased projects left in a vault at his home after his death. It is believed that the vault contains dozens of fully produced albums and over 50 music videos that have never been released, along with various other media. He released hundreds of songs both under his own name and multiple pseudonyms during his life, as well as writing songs that were made famous by other musicians, such as "Nothing Compares 2 U" and "Manic Monday". Estimates of the complete number of songs written by Prince range anywhere from 500 to well over 1,000.
Born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Prince signed a recording contract with Warner Bros. Records at the age of 19. Prince went on to achieve critical success with the innovative albums Dirty Mind (1980), Controversy (1981), and 1999 (1982). His sixth album, Purple Rain (1984), was recorded with his backup band the Revolution, and was the soundtrack to his film acting debut of the same name. Purple Rain spent six consecutive months atop the Billboard 200. Prince won the Academy Award for Best Original Song Score.
In April 2016, at the age of 57, Prince died of an accidental fentanyl overdose at his Paisley Park home and recording studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Prince sold over 150 million records worldwide, ranking him among the best-selling music artists of all time. His awards included the Grammy President's Merit Award, the American Music Awards for Achievement and of Merit, the Billboard Icon Award, an Academy Award, and a Golden Globe Award. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2006, and the Rhythm and Blues Music Hall of Fame in 2016.

BIOGRAPHIE de Derek Prince
Né en Inde de parents britanniques, Derek Prince a étudié le grec et le latin dans les deux institutions les plus prestigieuses de Grande-Bretagne: le collège d'Eton et l'université de Cambridge. Il devint professeur de philosophie et, à l'âge de 24 ans, fut élu membre de la confrérie du King's College de Cambridge.
Réquisitionné par l'armée britannique pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, Derek Prince emporta avec lui une Bible pour l'étudier « comme pour un travail de philosophie ». Une nuit, arrivé à la moitié de la Bible, Derek fut confronté avec la réalité de Jésus-Christ, et il s'est retrouvé par terre sous l'onction du Saint-Esprit, riant et sanglotant pendant longtemps, prophétisant en langues et interprétant en même temps.
Voici la prophétie qu'il reçut :
« Tu seras un enseignant dans la vérité et l'amour, pour beaucoup. Ce sera comme un petit courant, et ce petit courant deviendra une rivière, et la rivière deviendra un torrent, et ce torrent deviendra une mer, et la mer deviendra un océan puissant. »
Après sa conversion, Derek a passé trois ans dans le désert d'Afrique, au Soudan, sans aucun contact chrétien, avec juste sa Bible et le Saint-Esprit.
Après avoir quitté l'armée, Derek Prince s'est retrouvé en Palestine, où il a rencontré sa première femme, Lydia, une missionnaire danoise qui tenait un orphelinat à Jérusalem. Agée de presque 35 ans de plus, elle s'est volontairement effacée pour se mettre derrière son mari et son ministère qui se développait. Ils ont eu huit filles adoptives.
Ils émigrèrent aux Etats-Unis en 1963 et Derek Prince devint pasteur d'une église à Seattle.
Profondément touché par l'assassinat de John F. Kennedy, il s'est mis à enseigner aux américains comment prier et intercéder pour leur nation.
En 1973, Derek devint l'un des fondateurs des "Intercesseurs pour l'Amérique". Son livre "Comment façonner l'histoire par la prière et le jeûne" a permis aux chrétiens du monde entier de prendre conscience de la responsabilité qu'ils avaient de prier pour leur gouvernement. Beaucoup considèrent que les traductions clandestines de ce livre ont été un instrument de la chute des régimes communistes en U.R.S.S., R.D.A. et Tchécoslovaquie.
En 1968, il déménagea pour Fort Lauderdale en Floride. C'est là qu'au début des années soixante, il travailla en proche collaboration avec les célèbres enseignants de la Bible que sont Don Basham, Ern Baxter, Bob Mumford et Charles Simpson.
Vers la fin des années soixante, le Seigneur l'a conduit, de façon miraculeuse, dans le ministère de délivrance et il est devenu un pionnier dans ce domaine. De nombreux ministères ont témoigné avoir été enseignés et formés par lui dans ce domaine. C'est aussi dans les années soixante qu'il a enregistré une série de messages radio intitulés : "La série des fondements de la foi", basée sur Hébreux 6:1-2, où la Bible parle de "l'enseignement élémentaire de la parole du Christ". Le contenu de ces messages édités par la suite est devenu un best-seller en trois volumes, traduit en de nombreuses langues et distribué en plusieurs millions d'exemplaires dans le monde. Un classique, outil indispensable pour tout chrétien, qui a posé des fondements dans un grand nombre de vies et de ministères.

Niccolò di Bernardo dei Machiavelli 3 May 1469 – 21 June 1527 was an Italian Renaissance diplomat, philosopher and writer, best known for The Prince written in 1513. He has often been called the father of modern political philosophy and political science.
The Prince (Italian: Il Principe [il ˈprintʃipe], Latin: De Principatibus) is a 16th-century political treatise written by the Italian diplomat and political theorist Niccolò Machiavelli as an instruction guide for new princes and royals. The general theme of The Prince is of accepting that the aims of princes – such as glory and survival – can justify the use of immoral means to achieve those ends.
From Machiavelli's correspondence, a version appears to have been distributed in 1513, using a Latin title, De Principatibus (Of Principalities).[2] However, the printed version was not published until 1532, five years after Machiavelli's death. This was carried out with the permission of the Medici pope Clement VII, but "long before then, in fact since the first appearance of The Prince in manuscript, controversy had swirled about his writings".[3]
Although The Prince was written as if it were a traditional work in the mirrors for princes style, it is generally agreed that it was especially innovative. This is partly because it was written in the vernacular Italian rather than Latin, a practice that had become increasingly popular since the publication of Dante's Divine Comedy and other works of Renaissance literature.
The Prince is sometimes claimed to be one of the first works of modern philosophy, especially modern political philosophy, in which the "effectual" truth is taken to be more important than any abstract ideal. It is also notable for being in direct conflict with the dominant Catholic and scholastic doctrines of the time, particularly those concerning politics and ethics.

"Little Red Corvette" was released prior to his smash album "Purple Rain". The song combines a drum machine beat and slow synth buildup for the verses and a full rock chorus. Backing vocals were performed by Dez Dickerson and Lisa Coleman and the guitar solo was also played by Dickerson. In the song, Prince narrates a one-night stand with a beautiful but promiscuous woman (the "Little Red Corvette" of the title); although he enjoys the experience, he urges her to "slow down" and "find a love that's gonna last" before she destroys herself. In addition to the title, he uses several other automobile metaphors, for example comparing their lovemaking to a ride in a limousine.
Released as a single from the album 1999 in 1983, the song was his biggest hit at the time, and his first to reach the top 10 in the U.S., peaking at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. It was also his first single to perform better on the pop chart than the R&B chart. The single was released with another 1999 track, "Let's Pretend We're Married". Following Prince's death in April 2016, the song re-charted on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart at number 29. It rose to number 20 one week later. It has sold 1.08 million digital copies in the United States.

I kept the GM2 drums, but layered it with the Session Drummer's nPulse electronic VST2 kit. Added a moog base, a funky rhythm guitar, and overdrive lead. Not sure why, but the old GeoCities MIDIs often liked using flutes for leads. That just didn't sound right to me, especially for a Prince song. The piano and string and hit synths, I left on Cakewalk's TTS-1 GM2 settings.

This is my tribute video to two of the greatest 'Entertainers' that graced Planet Earth (Flat, Round, Square, but in their case Triangle). In April 2016 when Prince was found dead in the elevator of his Minneapolis home of an apparent drug overdose the Entertainment world was shocked and saddened at the tragedy of his death. He was 58 years old and left the world in mourning and some are still mourning today. This past January 26th, the Triangle Earth lost one of the greatest (Masonic GOAT's) of all time in basketball legend Kobe Bryant. He was only 41 years old and had recently only retired from the game he loved - Basketball. The helicopter accident that claimed Kobe and his daughter Gianna also took the lives of seven other friends and the pilot of the ill fated craft. The two death's happened apart and that in itself as we will see in the video will link the two 'Entertainers' forever in death as we look at the true meaning of Prince's 'Purple Rain'. Rest in Peace to these two 'retired' Superstars.

There is a saying that 'dead men tell no lies', unless of course you are Jeffrey Epstein and in his case it would be 'live men do tell lies' (just in hiding). If you have been following the Jeffrey Epstein case you (like me) have probably been asking yourself: why hasn't Epstein's Pimp Mommy Ghislaine Maxwell been brought in for questioning? It has become clear as day that she is a co-conspirator with Epstein and his sex trafficking ring. And with that I say: 'Finally', if it is actually true. I believe that she is a female version of Epstein anyway in that I believe she was part of the Mossad Blackmail Ring. With last weekends BBC interview with Prince Andrew the Duke of York I want expose his Three Biggest Lies that he let out during his Trainwreck of an Interview. The Royal Prince was asked several times if he remembers meeting Virginia Roberts and he denied that he ever met her, yet there are several occasions where Virginia Roberts testified that she, Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein were all together and in Prince Andrew's presence when he had sex with Roberts in London, New York and on Epstein's private island all within a three week period in the Spring of 2001. However, as you will see in this video (outside of Andrew claiming that he can't sweat anymore because of an old War Wound), the biggest LIE that you will see is when Prince Andrew tells the BBC interviewer that he does not like having his picture taken in public and he never shows any signs of PDA or "Public Display of Affection". Bring on the FBI and let's see if Ghislaine Maxwell further protects the names in Epstein's 'Little Black Book' or will she go off and 'play dead'. Like Epstein did? Because 'Dead Women Don't Lie' either.
