A look at audience reviews of 'The Visit' (2015) on Rotten Tomatoes. This film was not quite scary, and the 'found footage' style of camera work did not add anything to the experience. Perhaps it is worth watching one time, if your expectations are not too high.

A look at audience reviews of 'Jack the Giant Slayer' (2013) on Rotten Tomatoes. This film had all of the ingredients to be something great, but was let down by its PG-13 rating and its inability to decide between horror and comedy. The CGI is the least of this film's problems.

A look at audience reviews of 'A Wrinkle in Time' (2018) on Rotten Tomatoes. This film often looks as bright and magical as an ad for fabric softener; but it is chock full of complete logical fail. How does a giant-sized Oprah Winfrey with diamond glitter face paint tickle your fancy?

I look at early audience reviews of Star Trek: Picard on both Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB. There are a couple of main opinion camps, and plenty of passion in both directions. Some would like to see a faithful modernization of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and some would prefer more of a deliberate deconstruction of that material. Your mileage may vary!

I take a look at audience reviews on Rotten Tomatoes to try and answer a troublesome question. Did director J.J. Abrams actually fix the problem with Disney's Star Wars trilogy? I look specifically at 'verified' reviews and also ask if 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' will be as divisive as 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' to the fan base.
