As I've said before in past videos, as our society declines further and further, as sin becomes more accepted, and righteous morals become laughed at, and frowned upon. And with the steady decline we have been witnessing over the past years, it's safe to that if we continue on this decline, we will once again witness the days of Nero, or the days of Sodom and Gomorrah... the days of Noah.
It is said that in Jesus' return the times will once again be as it were in the days of Noah...

For generations, the nightmares of millions have been fueled by the demons of one man —The Biography of Edgar Allen Poe
Growing up, I was an avid reader of Edgar Allen Poe. Something about the darkness on his pages beckoned and so I eagerly took his hand as he led me down the kind of dark forlorn roads a vulnerable teenager should never dare to tread. Over time the shadows lurking in the dark corners of these tomes ended up taking root in my mind. Black thoughts commandeered and held great sway over sizable swaths of my cognition and writing. It wasn’t long before this dreariness spilled into my relationships. Here is a conversation from ages past:
I have an old friend who says i'm too cynical. He says i'm a decent conversationalist, but that I waste my time on negative drivel. “The world”, he says as he sips his coffee, “has only one side according to tritorch”.
“Nonsense” I say, (it's hot coco for me), “it's just that my darker side is louder than my brighter side, and it – to your displeasure – has more to say about everything”.
“Nonsense”, he says putting down his cup, “you're just not trying. It's always easier to talk about the darker side of life, but it takes real effort and – dare i say courage – to keep things tilted toward the good. Everyone loves a scandal, and it's always the simplest thing to appeal to ones ego by giving them reason to feel good about themselves at the expense of others. The hard part is making them feel good about the world.”
The conversation went on but by the end he still hadn't convinced me, and the hour came when we had to go our separate ways. “Think about it”, he said wrestling his way into his coat, “the sun clears the shadows in the daytime, yet there is only darkness on your pages. Let the light shine through and a new world will be opened to you”.
“I'll think about it”, I said noncommittally, making no guarantees, "but the darkness intrigues me. However”, I said, slapping my old friend chummily on the back, “I will try”.
We walked out into the night and strolled along our separate paths. I, as always, walking in shadow down dark roads forlorn where old buildings loom and streetlamps flicker few and far between. My friend went his, carrying his own light along with him.
I summon this fragment of my past into this part of the story to illustrate two things:
1) That, for most, the mind is a garbage-in-garbage-out ecosystem (the importance of this will become clear in the second part of this series), and
2) That while Poe’s mind did indeed have a great influence over mine - and significantly darkened my outlook of the world - I also learned a great deal from the wisdom that was overflowing in equal measure as the gloom on those pages. To wit, one of the greatest lessons of my young life at the time, was inspired by the professional detective, C. Auguste Dupin, from the novella, ‘The Murders in the Rue Morgue’. From him I learned this:
Critical thinkers tend to act with reason and logic. Non-critical thinkers tend to react with emotion.
It was from this simple lesson in that grim murder story a handful of decades in the rear-view mirror that I learned to not allow my emotions to rule me, and this epiphany has stuck with me ever since. Decades later as my son grew older a common refrain could be heard throughout our household: “son, control your emotions, do not allow them to control you.”
Who could a guessed this morbid tome held such deep wisdom for a 15 year old
So if we are able to agree (and I think we are) that emotional mastery combined crystal-clear reason and discernment - rather than say… blinding anger and envy - are indeed valuable ideals worth working and striving for, you can be sure that in today’s backward world these virtues will be scorned while the aforementioned frailties are elevated and celebrated. Indeed, as you will discover in Part 2, this abhorrent predatory philosophy has been infecting classrooms all across America.
Final Words
Through his black tales Poe’s words poured both garbage and wisdom into my psyche. Fortunately for me, in the end, the wisdom gained shone bright enough to extinguish the acquired darkness. But what of those less fortuitous minds who are given only garbage? Without the counterbalance of enlightenment, under what rock must such a malnourished, malformed, and broken mind scurry? And where will such a dark and forlorn road lead us?

Last week, we began sharing insights into the origins and functions of the State gained from studying psychologist Dr. Carl Jung’s last book before his death, The Undiscovered Self. In that article we looked at the way that human minds filter facts discovered through scientific experimentation to fit their personal beliefs and how this leads them to totally misunderstand humanity, which can only be understood at the individual level. In this article we continue to explore the insights that Dr. Jung’s work can provide to us. From page 8 of The Undiscovered Self:
“Under the influence of scientific assumptions, not only the psyche but the individual man and, indeed, all individual events whatsoever suffer a leveling down and a process of blurring that distorts the picture of reality into a conceptual average. We ought not to underestimate the psychological effect of the statistical world picture: it displaces the individual in favor of anonymous units that pile up into mass formations. Science supplies us with, instead of the concrete individual, the names of organizations and, at the highest point, the abstract idea of the State as the principle of political reality. The moral responsibility of the individual is then inevitably replaced by the policy of the State (raison d’état). Instead of moral and mental differentiation of the individual, you have public welfare and the raising of the living standard.”
We stop treating humans as individuals, when we start thinking of humans as we do plant matter or bacteria in a lab experiment. When we do so, it destroys our ability to see humans as individuals and when we do so, we start treating them like objects without thoughts, feelings, hopes, or dreams. We stop caring about whether we are helping a person and start caring about whether the numerical results of our social experiments seem good to us on paper. Like the denizens of Ursula K. Le Guin’s fictional utopia Omelas, we become completely comfortable in torturing, dehumanizing, and destroying individuals as long as the collective appears happy. With such a worldview, a scientific worldview, autocracy becomes inevitable.
“The goal and meaning of individual life (which is the only real life) no longer lie in individual development but in the policy of the State, which is thrust upon the individual from outside and consists in the execution of an abstract idea which ultimately tends to attract all life to itself. The individual is increasingly deprived of the moral decision as to how he should live his own life, and instead is ruled, fed, clothed and educated as a social unit, accommodated in the appropriate housing unit, and amused in accordance with the standards that give pleasure and satisfaction to the masses. The rulers, in their turn, are just as much social units as the ruled and are distinguished only by the fact that they are specialized mouthpieces of the State doctrine. They do not need to be personalities capable of judgment, but thoroughgoing specialists who are unusable outside their line of business. State policy decides what shall be taught and studied. [pg. 8]”
When one holds a worldview that dehumanizes people, ignores the individual, and focuses solely on the collective, the only outcome possible is totalitarianism. Those moral busybodies who believe they are omniscient enough, omnipotent enough, and omnibenevolent enough to rectify all evils and order all things for the good of all, naturally enough try to become omnipresent enough to do so. But, since they are localized and contained by their own individual reality, they must develop a way to collectivize and be everywhere at once. The way they do this is through the Leviathan of the State. Into its power and under its control they place everything, nothing spared for the individual to order for himself or herself.

Some of the humans get the idea. That all of Life on this planet is accelerating into a new phase of Novelty creation in which each small ‘newness’ is not only additive, but a combinoric step for yet more ‘newness’. We are in the ‘virtuous phase’ of the novelty cycle.
This phase will continue for the rest of your life on this earth. As it gains strength over these next 11,000 years, it is likely your next Life, perhaps several, will also be involved in this Novelty expansion.
Universe favors novelty. This you will be able to observe in the behavior, and results, in the lives of those around you. Is a politician supporting an entrenched, low novelty ideology? Well, results will be demonstrated.
As will ‘true novelty’ be demonstrated. Faux attempts at novelty will fail. Verbal labeling is the linguistic equivalent of dying your hair blue, it does not change the novelty potential, merely colors it. If you consider it deeply, you can see that attempts at faux novelty are actually creating pressure for true novelty to emerge in several ways. Suppression of real novelty is very much like a weight adding pressure to the cooking. When it releases, it goes ever so much further.
Within my linguistic analysis work over these last decades, there has been a continuing contention between ‘building emotional tensions’, and ‘release emotional tensions’ language. This was present even at the worst of the censorship. The level of building tension dominated for these last 12 or so years. Now we are into the domination of release language. This is the emergence of novelty. It is when the human expresses it, speaks of it, that they have the ‘release’ of the emotional tension built up around it.
We are now entering a release language dominated phase of Time. Just look around to see that this is correct. Any field, area, interest, that you care to examine, will be dominated by people releasing emotions over what will resolve down to ‘novelty’. This release language is Humanity expressing the ‘shock of the new’.
The ‘shock of the new’ is gaining momentum. Like the first grain of gunpowder igniting within a very very large pile of it, the results of this acceleration of novelty are unpredictable. Or so Consciousness hopes.
Now, what could be more of a shock? Oh, i know, Space Aliens dropping in JUST as we are all acting batshit crazy!
