"On a distant planet, LV 263, the Weyland-Yutani Corporation has established a mining and research facility. The planet's rich mineral deposits made it an ideal source for
scientific development. However, the mineral mining facility has simply been a front for public and military eyes. In truth, the Yutani Corporation has discovered a subterranean
xenomorph hive on the planet, and constructed the facility to gain access to the hive and conduct experimental research. Now, during one of the most critical experiments, the
facility has suffered a power loss. Something has gone wrong. Unable to mount a timely investigation themselves, the Yutani Corporation has asked the marines to investigate the
situation. So, after arriving to the planet by dropship, your marine team has set course for the mining facility via APC. Just another routine mission to restore communications at
a mineral mining facility and clean up after the Yutani Corporation again.....or so you thought."
BioWeapon is a long singleplayer map. It will take you about an hour or so to complete. I point this out because there are long cutscenes, long elevator waits and some backtracking for
keycards and items. It is indeed a good map, you just need to take this map slow not to miss anything. The map does a lot of cool things with unused AvP2 characters such as the striker, rhinog and ceti. Level design is also pretty good as you will go from a Weyland-Yutani facility, to an underground lab, to an underground dig, to ultimately an alien hive. The new voice acting is also done really well and is a welcome addition.
BioWeapon has some major flaws though. The first flaw is the serious lack of ammo. Every bullet you have in this map is precious. If you waste any ammo shooting the extra ai in the labs you will be doomed by the end boss predator fight. Furthermore, if you miss picking up the minigun or shotgun (like I did at first) you will struggle to defeat the ceti, praetorian or boss predator. Health is also scarce, but you can manage without it if you quick save often. I've played this map three times now and each time I play it I seem to miss some ammo pickup or crucial weapon mainly because the keycard system is confusing. The storage lockers that don't open rely on keycards to be opened. There is no indication to let you know this. So when you come across a locked locker, it is easy to forget about it and continue on with the map.
Moreover, it should be mentioned that you MUST get the dynamite near the elevator at the bottom of the dig to complete this map. The map does not tell you you need dynamite until you get deep in the hive with little ammo/health with infinite respawning aliens. If you forget the dynamite you will be screwed. If you manage to reach the final boss predator, be sure to have a good amount of ammo. He can't be defeated head on as he constantly jumps away when attacked. You need to use his same cheap tactics to beat him by playing cat and mouse. I've defeated him with a knife once when I ran out of ammo, but just barely.
Once again, BioWeapon is a cool map. It just has some issues with the difficulty balance.

"You are Dimitri and landed with your team on TC3 to steal some secret documents. Marines want to get you and the heat on TC3 and the screams of death and pain makes some other guys want to have some fun too. This volcanic planet is known for its violent
history. Some people tell stories of monsters and ghosts making trophy of men. MUAHAHAHAHAHA."
Snakebite is one of my personal favorite maps due to the large size and its unique desert look. Due to the large size of the map, the player can take approaches from different directions to get past the apc. Furthermore, depending on your approach, some other ai will spawn such as another predator and some aliens. The player can also attempt to save the corporate allies if fast enough, but I let their fight play out to see what happened. The difficulty of the map is on the high scale, with many traps and enemies that can quickly kill you via long range. I haven't played this map in a long time, so I died in a few sections. This is a highly recommended map.

Bar is not a full map, but more of a demo as there are no real tasks to accomplish. The map is a big bar/club with a another club in the basement. The player can walk around, but the ai doesn't really respond or react to anything you do, even if you attack them. The map is good for a few laughs.
Note: I removed the music from the map as the video would be blocked in many countries if not removed. The map originally had Nine Inch Nails playing at the bar/club area and Darude playing in the basement.

Predator's Endgame is one third of the three Endgame missions; the others being for alien and marine. The predator version of the map is probably the worst of the three simply because there are not many opportunities for stealth in the map design layout and you have very limited weapons at your disposal. Your goal as the predator is to reach the end of the map and defeat the queen. Once at the end of the map, you will get your other weapons, but for the first 90% of the map you won't even get to use those weapons. Overall, it's not terrible, but the limited weapons hinders the enjoyment of the map. This of course, can be remedied with cheat codes if you choose to use them.

Marine's Endgame is one third of the three Endgame missions; the others being for alien and predator. The marine version of the map is a pretty standard map. Your goal is to make it to the evacuation point, which is at the end of the map. Along the way you will encounter a variety of enemies, but primarily aliens and some POC guards. A synth with a sniper rifle may be the toughest part in the map to get past. Fun map.

Alien's Endgame is one third of the three Endgame missions; the others being for marine and predator. The alien version of the map might be the best of the three. Your goal is to essentially reach the end of the map where must protect the queen from two enemy predators. Along the way you will encounter a bunch of gun wielding enemies and turrets. This is a pretty standard map. However, this is also one of the few alien custom maps for singleplayer, so check it out if you want more alien maps.

The scenario from the author:
"You have landed back on Stranded to check out why the colonist have not responded in weeks. Landing the dropship some distance from the colony, you investigate what appeared from above to be some sort of swamp. The vibration from the dropship must have weakened some rocks and they give way blocking you off from the ship. There are no survivors on Stranded, and neither spider colonies have enough power to pilot the ship. A windmill shaft is broken on one spider station, and a radar disk is out of alignment on the other. The radar base will also need to be tack welded into place. Both stations must be running in order to support the power needed to communicate to the dropship because the signal has to travel to a relay station some distance away. Once repairing the above mentioned and hacking into the spiders control panels to get the power back on, you will be able to remote pilot the dropship to another safe landing place. (Keep your eye on the computer screen until the dropship safely lands. The camera will exit you after it lands.) Fight your way back to the dropship and you're home free..."
Stranded 2 is a fairly good, objective based map. You play as a marine trying to repair some equipment to evac. As usual, you will be under duress as you are being chased down by aliens in the process. Every time I play this map, I get a bit confused as to how to repair the radar disk. The areas that need to be weld by the torch are not always completely obvious. Coty has included screenshots with the map, as a guide to do your repairs and beat the map. I recommend viewing them first before playing to help.

The premise of Gas Facility is the following:
"Your squad of Marines have been sent to investigate various SOS calls made from a Weyland-Yutani facility which uses aliens' acidic blood to create poisonous gas for use in warfare.
If things get bad, your priority is to evacuate personnel and activate the self-destruct sequence to destroy all the evidence."
Gas Facility is a fairly good map. It has some scripted sequences with the ai to give some life to the environment. Gameplay is primarily navigating through tunnels and encountering various aliens.

Friendly Welcome is one of the more unique maps for AvP2. It is somewhat of an on rails shooter, as the player must jump on a fleeing truck while be chased down by aliens. Once on the truck, you can move about a little bit, but it is better to stay still as the trucks are buggy and you can easily fall off and die.
The map is a bit laggy in some of the tunnels, but it is a fun map nevertheless. Be sure to quick save often, as you will randomly be killed by fellow marines or jettisoned from the truck quite often. See my video "Unfriendly Welcome" for examples.

This map is a port of Doom's episode 1, map 1. It has pretty much all the Doom textures and is a near perfect port in terms of level design. Many of the secrets or hidden areas of the Ultimate Doom version of the map are not here though. While the map looks cool, it does not play as fun as the original Doom. The pistol and shotgun feel tremendously under-powered compared to Doom's weaponry.
This is not a fault of the map, but it's two different games. In Doom, it's a lot easier to shotgun enemies from long distances. In AvP2, you must be REALLY close to make shotgun blasts work. However, the enemies in this map are far more lethal with the shotgun than the player. You will have to use your pistol a lot more and run around in circles to evade enemies.
For some unknown reason, the famous E1M1 music is not included in the map. I've added the song to my gameplay video because the map feels wrong without it. If you choose to play the map, note that there will be no music at all.

AVPMarine is a four map campaign loosely based on the AvP movie. The first map takes place at the Razorback Point outpost in Antarctica where the player must find his tools to progress to the next map, all while being attacked from enemy aliens and predators. The second and third maps take place underground near the underground pyramid. Lastly, the fourth map takes place inside the pyramid itself, although this map lacks enemies and is unfinished.
The first three maps are pretty great minus some lag from the pyramid on the second map. There are plenty of jump scares and surprises, that this campaign would be highly recommended for those who want a challenge and horror based AvP maps.
Note: This campaign also comes with new main menus and Spanish fonts (Nivel426 was a Spanish map-making team). Therefore, if you don't know Spanish, the mission objectives will be confusing.

This map is basically dm_alley with some marine and corporate ai placed about the map. The ai won't leave wherever they are positioned, but they are quick to shoot you down if they spot you. Alley Alien is not a great map, but it's the offline version of dm_alley if you don't have any other players to play online against.

This is basically the map Alley Alien (built off of dm_alley) but for the predator instead of the alien. Alley Predator is not a great map, but it's the offline version of dm_alley if you don't have any other players to play online against.

This is a straight forward predator map in which you need to find your spear and return to your ship. The map has a lot of influence from the AvP movie in it. The best and worst part of the map is your sidekick predator ai. He is seemingly invincible and can help you out a lot in combat, when he works that is. He frequently gets stuck and you have to bump him and kind of lead him to get around. You will likely need his help at times because your weapon load out is limited too. Lastly, some of the alien ai spawns are totally unfair as they spawn right in front of you. Regardless, the map is worth a play just to see the predator ai fight about.
Note this map was released previously two times. The most up to date version of the map is version 3 and it can be found in the Celtic Map pack.

This is easily one of the best hive custom maps made for AvP2. It is very dark and spooky to navigate. There are some jump scares, but unfortunately there are also a few cheap alien spawns right in front of you. Regardless, the map is overall great. The player is tasked with a few objectives that force the player to travel through the hive. Eventually the map will turn into a skirmish mode, which is slightly disappointing because you want to escape after accomplishing all the tasks.
The player can also retrieve the torch to activate the turrets for additional cover fire. In my playthrough, I was unable to find the torch but finished all objectives. I returned back to the apc at the end of the map when I realized it is safe point to end the map on.

This is another skirmish map from the twisted mind of Windebieste, who claims he had the flu when he came up with the idea for this map. It's a circular map with respawning aliens chasing you. You can climb up the ladder to the stone platforms for some cover, but occasionally aliens will drop down on your head. Overall, this is a small but funny skirmish map.

Trooper Style Skirmish is a singleplayer skirmish map for the marine against waves of aliens. You have three marine teammates that will either follow you around or hold their ground upon selecting them. Once you open the ammo boxes within the compound, the alien waves will commence. There seems to be about 5 waves with increasing difficulty that will loop after each other. The map is great, but it would be great if the difficulty continued to increase past the praetorian wave. I highlight all the initial waves in the video, but then skip ahead to some other tough waves. I eventually quit the map as the waves never became overwhelmingly difficult nor did my player die.

This cool map was inspired by the map "Saving Private Frosty", the movie Saving Private Ryan and obviously WW2. In this map, you play as a Marine storming a hill off the coast of a beach. You will encounter landmines, tank blockers, barbed wire and extremely tough corporate ai. Your goal is to reach the communications center and remote detonate the bombs. Saving Private Redclaw is one of the toughest singleplayer maps ever built, if not the toughest due to corporate ai being very deadly and relentless.
I kept dieing numerous times trying to storm the hill guns blazing at first playthrough. This recording is my second attempt to try and beat the map. In order to win this map, you must take a strategic approach, quick-save and be willing to retreat to regain health and ammo pickups.
