Lyrics….
Long Enough
Verse 1
You always seem a little confused when you see me again.
Do you treat me like someone you abused or like a fair-weather friend?
Well don’t get in a panic for the misery that happened back there.
I don’t waste the energy; it takes me too much effort to care.

Verse 2
I could stay mad, but that’s not my natural state.
Bein’ mad makes you a drag and that’s a terrible fate.
Can’t reach out with my arms if they’re packin’ a punch.
Can’t make love to life with my panties in a bunch.

Pre-Chorus
And it’s just nice to know, that it’s alright to go…

Chorus
Without a chip on my shoulder. I ain’t holdin’ no grudge.
I’ve been misery’s soldier for just about long enough. Just about long enough.

Verse 3
Just the other day a couple guys were really pissin’ me off.
So I talked some trash and I stormed away while they mocked.
Long after they’d forgotten I’m sure about me.
My blood was so hot and heavy I could hardly breathe.

Pre-Chorus
And I remembered then, that I’m so much lighter when…

Chorus
I got no chip on my shoulder. I ain’t holdin’ no grudge.
I’ve been misery’s soldier for just about long enough. Just about long enough.

Bridge
Hey it’s cool now. We’re alright now. Yeah we’re good now. Said it’s cool now.
Hey it’s cool now. We’re alright now. Yeah we’re good now. Said it’s cool now.
(Improv)

Chorus
I got no, I got no, I got no chip on my shoulder. I ain’t holdin’ no grudge.
I’ve been misery’s soldier for just about long enough. For just about long enough.
(repeat last line and fade)

Lyrics….
On That Stage

Verse 1
She’s got her hair done right. She’s got a big, big night. Put on her face and fancy clothes.
She’s in a traffic jam. She says, “I am, I am.” But nobody cares about her on the road.

Verse 2
And she ponders how it’s such a different crowd - how even if their faces wind up all the same:
right now, they’d cut her low, yet in an hour or so they’ll be cheerin’ loud and callin’ out her name.

CHORUS
‘Cause she’s a star on her way to the show.
She’s got to breathe, ‘cause she’s getting there slow.
And they cut her off, and flip her off and all them cops try to tell her stop.
Nobody gives a damn when you’re on your way,
But they’ll treat you like a God up on that stage.

Verse 3
She gives her soul for free, but when she charges fees, they act like she never went to work.
They simply pass the buck, wish her the best of luck. Once they’ve taken her for everything she’s worth.

CHORUS
But she’s a star .....

SOLO

BRIDGE
Think you ain’t got a name yet ‘cause they ain’t proclaimed your fame yet.
You think you ain’t got a name yet ‘cause they ain’t proclaimed your fame.

CHORUS 2
But you’re a star on your way to the show.
You’ve got to breathe, ‘cause you’re getting there slow.
And they’ll cut you off, and flip you off and all them cops’ll try to tell yu stop.
Nobody gives a damn when you’re on your way.
Nobody gives a damn when you’re on your way.
But they’ll treat you like a God up on the stage.

“Chuchotement” – SOLO: “Chuchotement” has all the hallmarks of a melodic and haunted old folk song. Jessica Leia performs this version of her song “Chuchotement”, SOLO style! With just her voice and some minor chords gracefully plucked on her acoustic guitar, she sings this song in French, with lyrics which speak of how the world sounds when one listens with their heart: subtle and beautiful … almost as if everything were whispering.

“Chuchotement” – FINAL: Written in a harmonic minor key, “Chuchotement” sounds like an old, haunted, folk song. With acoustic guitar, airy strings, and elegant bass and drums, “Chuchotement” plays out like a lullaby as Jessica Leia sings in rich tones about the subtle and beautiful whispering that occurs in the world when one listens with their heart.

Lyrics….
Chuchotement

Verset 1
Le monde semble si étrange quand tu écoutes avec ton cœur.
Ce n'est pas la meme chose que quand on parle.
Mais ç'est aussi fort que la mer.

The world seems so strange when you listen with your heart
It’s not the same thing as when one speaks
But it’s as loud as the sea

Pré-Refrain 1
Et je ne sais pas comment le comprendre.
Ou exactement comment l'expliquer, mais c'est juste un peu comme…

And I don’t know how to understand it
Or exactly how to explain it, but it’s just a bit … like

Refrain 1
Chuchotement. Tout le temps. Tout le monde. Chuchotement.

Whispering. All the time. All the world. Whispering.

Verset 2
Et le monde est si étrange. Qui ose écouter avec son cœur?
Parce-que c’est mieux que quand on parle.
Et ç'est plus beau que la mer.

And the world is so strange. Who dares to listen with their heart?
Because it’s better than when one speaks.
And it’s more beautiful than the sea.

Pré-Refrain 2
Et je n'ai pas besoin de le comprendre.
Ni l'expliquer non plus. J’aime juste ecouter… a

And I don’t need to understand it.
Nor to explain it. I just like to listen… to

Refrain 2
Chuchotement. Les montagnes. Et le vent. Chuchotement.

Whispering. The mountains. And the wind. Whispering.

Refrain 3
Suis-je tout seul? Est-ce que tu entends? Chantons ensemble… de chuchotement…

Am I all alone? Do you hear? Let’s sing together… of whispering…

“Suburban Sidewalk”: Perhaps a modern day 80’s rock song, “Suburban Sidewalk” might have a little ‘Cake’ in it mixed with a little ‘White Snake’, but ultimately, it’s a tune all its own. With a driving beat, punchy vocals, wonky-wonk guitars and a groove that will make you want to get up and dance, “Suburban Sidewalk” is a fun and sassy song about a woman going out on her own to live in the big city!

Lyrics….
Suburban Sidewalk

V1
She grew up in the suburbs and of course her Mama loved her.
But she never really fit in to the “all up in yo’ business” scene.
The lady’d like to have a blast, but she just can’t escape the past.
Because she likes to kiss the girls the people call her obscene.
And she hates it, ‘cause she can’t fake it. And there’s so many other places.
So, she can leave or take it. Leave or take it.

V2
She doesn’t wanna miss a beat. She’d rather go and hit the streets.
Step out off the curb where you can catch a bus to anywhere.
Where the people let her be. Hey there ain’t nothin’ here to see.
When you’ve already seen it all, you don’t feel the need to stare.

Pre-Chorus
And she wants it. So, she’s gonna get it. And if it ends up she hates it.
She won’t even sweat it… won’t even sweat it.

Chorus 1
She’s doin’ it on her own. She’s a sweet suburban honey in an urban zone.
She got fake eyelashes and pink hair on, but don’t nobody give a damn
‘Cause this ain’t no suburban sidewalk. No, it’s a big city sidewalk.

V3
She found her way to freedom and the action’s where it is.
Anonymity among the masses – don’t nobody give a shizz.
She don’t need a reason, she don’t need to make sense.
She could be a Chupacabra and nobody’d know the difference.

Pre-Chorus

Chorus 2
She’s doin’ it on her own. She’s a sweet suburban honey in an urban zone.
She got blue sunglasses and fishnets on, but don’t nobody give a damn
‘Cause this ain’t no suburban sidewalk. No, it’s a big city sidewalk.

Pre-Chorus 2
If you want it, go and get it. And if it ends up yu hate it,
don’t even sweat it. Don’t even sweat it. Don’t even sweat it.

Chorus 3
She’s doin’ it on her own. She’s a sweet suburban honey in an urban zone.
She got ten tattoos with her high heels on, but don’t nobody give a damn
‘Cause this ain’t no suburban sidewalk. No, it’s a big city sidewalk.
This ain’t no suburban sidewalk. No, it’s a big city sidewalk. This ain’t no suburban sidewalk.

Lyrics….
Why Didn’t I Then?
Verse 1
You were just scrambling in the dark - tryin’ to find someone to hold your heart
And I was full of blunders from the start
You just never know. But how can you know?
Until it’s all been said and done. Now you’ve decided I can’t be the one
A role I never figured out. Oh, but I know what I’d do now

Chorus
Why didn’t I then? Why didn’t I then?
Hey I could have been everything, everything.
Why didn’t I know? Why didn’t I know?
If I could have known, from the start, everything
Hey I would give anything.

Verse 2
And it doesn’t matter who you are - we’re all just scrambling in the dark
Trying to be experts from the start
As if we should know. But how can we know?
When we come in an empty slate. To be written upon by the hands of fate
Hands never faced with the task of having to ask

Chorus
Why didn’t I then? Why didn’t I then?
Hey I could have been everything, everything.
Why didn’t I know? Why didn’t I know?
If I could have known, from the start, everything
Hey I would give anything.

SOLO

Chorus
Why didn’t I then? Why didn’t I then?
Hey I could have been everything, everything.
Why didn’t I know? Why didn’t I know?
If I could have known, from the start, everything
If only I’d known, from the start, everything
Hey I would give anything.

“The Ultimate Invasion”
Enjoy some nice chunky funky chords on piano, mischievous guitar and a sneaky bass line - all made cohesive in this playful yet provocative song: “The Ultimate Invasion”. With an awesome industrial sound, “The Ultimate Invasion” keeps a robotic, funky and mechanical feeling beat, as if to mimic the societal machine of which the lyrics speak. A machine that has colonized our brains and rages on as we are commodified and ravished by it.

Lyrics:

V1
Do we realize our brains are being colonized, while we’re singing commercials and eating our fries?
Of course we should… but probly not.
How can we hear our brains scream
drowned out by the mainstream
lost behind the smokescreen
of pretty teens and GO TEAM!?
Well, we can’t … Our circuits are way too hot.

V2
Do we mind if the profits cost our dignity, while we’re sipping our lattes and watching TV?
Of course we don’t… Hey, how many channels you got?!
So we’re caught up in a strange dream
of always needing some thing
big truck, big screen
biggest freakin’ diamond ring
You’re not who you are … you’re what you bought.

C1
Oh, oh it’s the ultimate invasion.
Aha, raping our imagination
Oh, ho and the powers of persuasion have convinced us we’re too busy
and our soma makes us dizzy
So now who’s gonna redesign the world?

V3
All the “have-nots” are in trouble for subversion, because all the “haves” are relying on coercion:
sayin, “You know you’re only poor, because you haven’t worked hard enough.”
But can you hear the sages
who are locked up in their cages
while this cruel machine just rages
like the dark, dark ages?
If there is a God … I hope It calls our bluff.

C2
Oh, oh it’s the ultimate invasion.
Aha, raping our imagination
Oh, ho and the powers of persuasion have convinced us we’re too busy
and our Prozac makes us dizzy
So now who’s gonna redesign the world?

Bridge
Can we all really have it all?
Anh, forget about it, let’s go down to the mall!
Is it something that I really need?
Anh, who cares? It’s ‘buy one get one free’!

C3
Oh, oh our identity’s established.
Aha, we are commodified and ravished.
Oh, oh and the planet is collapsing.
Aha, while the CEO’s are laughing.
They’re so glad we’re busy and that our Zoloft makes us dizzy
Now look who’s gonna redesign the world?

Buy it! Buy it! Vroom! Vroom! Eat! Eat! Consume! Consume! (x4)

Sad Smile – Final Studio Version: “Sad Smile” is a tender and heartfelt Folky kind of ballad, reminiscent of something you might hear sung by Peter, Paul and Mary or the Carpenters. The touching lyrics of this song speak of the heartbreak that comes from loving someone immensely, but how that is just not enough when you both want completely different things in life. Enjoy this final studio versions as Jessica Leia and the boys bring together, seamlessly, all the lovely sounds in this beautiful tune!

Lyrics….
Sad Smile

Verse 1
You come to me with longing eyes, to express this yearning deep inside.
You say the years have gone and the time is ripe, don’t wanna miss your chance for makin’ life. And you’re sure… really sure.

Verse 2
Now I’m not sayin’ it’s good or bad, it’s just somethin’ I’ve never longed to have.
And you’ve always known it wasn’t meant to be, but still you keep on asking me if I’m sure… really sure.

Chorus 1
‘Cause you cannot walk the path of the sad smile.
Always glad for what yu had, but wondering how things might have been and what you might have tried, if you’d had a child.

Verse 3
Well, I’ve seen that smile time and again on many women and many men
who wanted things the other way, but decided they’d go on and stay and so I’m sure… really sure.

Chorus 2
That I cannot walk the path of the sad smile.
Always glad for what I had but wondering how things might have been and what I might have tried if I’d not had a child.

Verse 4
Either way, it’s a broken heart: one gives in or we both just part.
So here we are, neither one with doubts and still the time keeps on running out and you’re sure… and I’m sure

Chorus 3
We cannot walk the path of the sad smile.
Always glad for what we had, but wondering how things might have been and what we might have tried.
‘Cause when you’re makin’ life, you have to be sure.
And I‘m sure… And you’re sure… Are you sure? I’m sure…

Hating You – FINAL STUDIO VERSION: “Hating You” is a bluesy rock song full of grit and gusto. In this final studio version of the song, Jessica Leia bangs out chunky chords in a 12/8 time while the band throws in some dirty guitars which create the perfect foundation for Jessica’s growly vocals to lay on top of. Lyrics….
Hating You
Verse 1
The big hole never fills, when I wanna bite and I’m fit to kill
So I feed it and feed it until it asks for more
And I know I shouldn’t have let it grow, but what I feel and what I know
Don’t match up when I catch up with all my bleeding sores

Chorus
But here’s to you anyway, ‘cause I finally stopped hating her today.
Now I’ve got bigger fish to fry: pre-occupied with you and I.
Now I’ve got better things to do like hating you.

Verse 2
The anger is toxic now, so I drink it up and I show it how
To poison my person in any direction it will
I’m in a position to love the pain: the masochist having so much to gain
So I pick at it, poke at it, twist at it, just for the thrill

Chorus
But here’s to you anyway, ‘cause I finally stopped hating her today.
Now I’ve got bigger fish to fry: pre-occupied with you and I.
Now I’ve got better things to do like hating you.

Solo

Chorus
But here’s to you anyway, ‘cause I finally stopped hating her today.
Now I’ve got bigger fish to fry: pre-occupied with you and I.
Now I’ve got better things to do like hating you.

Song – SOLO: A song that plays out like a lullaby, “Little One” is as precious as the little ones it sings of and sings to - including the little one in all of us. Performed on a crisp, acoustic guitar and sung with rich, heartfelt vocals, Jessica Leia sings us a sweet ballad that sounds like something Mary Poppins might sing to Jane and Michael as they drift off to dream.

Lyrics….
Little One
Verse 1
Little one, do you see all that I don't? I'm just wondering
If you see the angels next to me. That's gotta be why you keep smiling
They're gonna say that you're wrong, but you stay strong, you stay strong
'Cause what you see, well it's real and the day is gonna come when it's revealed
... So just trust what you feel

Chorus 1
'Cause little one, you've got it all inside
If you get confused just close your eyes
And let it go, don't be afraid to let your imagination roll
And don't worry 'bout what they say ‘cause they will follow when you lead

Verse 2
Little one, will you teach all that you know? 'Cause I keep forgetting
How to just make believe. But you and I know we're not pretending
When we dance on the sea and we fly on the breeze
Come along, we'll take a ride on and on somewhere inside a beam of light
... And you can show me all the sites

Chorus 2
'Cause little one, you remember more than I
And if you held my hand, then I might
Let go long enough of my fear and mistrust to see a place I've been
‘Cause I'd like to go there again and I will follow where you lead

Chorus 3
Hey what say we both go there tonight?
I'll meet you on the other side
And we can roam in the place we both know as home.
Where all the dreams we crave are just one thought away.
And fascination climbs with all the new things we find
And when we both return to space and time...
You can come follow me. I'll show you all that I know. I'll bet you're wondering.

Don’t Do It:
There might be a little bit of The Strokes in there… might even be a little bit of The Beatles in certain places. One thing that’s for sure is that “Don’t Do It” is one hard core tune! Punk Rock at its core, “Don’t Do It” will mash guitars, smash some drums and showcase some pretty clean, but none-the-less, aggressive vocals as Jessica Leia belts out lyrics which chide certain professionals that just may have, possibly sold their souls to the Devil!

Lyrics….

Don’t Do It
Verse 1
Hey Preacher, Hey P – P – P – Preacher
Rumor has it that you’re gonna help me find my way to heaven.
But what yu doin’ hey preacher what yu doin’?
Teachin’ hate and fornicatin’ in the filthy devil’s den. You’re in the devil’s den!

Chorus
The Devil offered all the world to you. In exchange he said your soul would do. Then had his minions pat you on the back and say:
“Do it just do it. Do it just do it. Do it just do it.”
Then the Devil had you sign in blood, leaning in so that all that you could hear was, “Do it, just do it, just do it.”
So, you couldn’t hear the angel there whisperin’ in your other ear, “Don’t do it, don’t do it, don’t do it.”

Verse 2
Hey Doctor, hey D – D – D – Doctor
Rumor has it that you got the antidote to make me well.
But what you doin’ hey doctor what you doin’?
Countin’ your sadistic dollars while you put the sick through hell. You put the sick through hell.

Chorus

Chorus (End)
The Devil offered all the world to you. In exchange he said your soul would do. Then had his minions pat you on the back and say,
“Do it just do it. Do it just do it. Do it just do it. Do it just do it.” But don’t do it, don’t do it.
Do it just do it. Don’t do it. Don’t do it. Do it just do it. Don’t do it, don’t do it.
Do it, just do it. Don’t do it. Don’t do it. Do it just do it. Don’t do it, don’t do it.

"Wonderful" SYNOPSIS…

PART 1
So hey, if you’re pissed off because you can’t get to sleep, you may as well get up and write a song about finding your happy place! At least, that’s what Jessica Leia did when she wrote this month’s song: “Wonderful”. Join Jessica on stage as she talks about finding her “wonderful” and how doing so changes everything instantly. Because, well, finding your “wonderful” consciously makes a complete energetic turn in your being-ness. And once you realize that, you can conjure it up any ‘ol time you damn well please just because you decided to. Which of course, means controlling the very fabric of reality

Enjoy a few corny jokes while Jessica Leia discusses how “wonderful” doesn’t come from any THING; not a new job or a chocolate cake. How, just like when DUMBO realizes he doesn’t need the magic feather to fly, once you figure out how to find YOUR wonderful, you realize that it’s ALWAYS there. That’s simply part of it being YOUR “wonderful”. Of course, this is all much easier to figure out once you’ve realized that you live forever.

WARNING: finding your “wonderful” may lead to instant giggles.

PART 2
Enjoy a quick recap of PT1 of this month’s episode and then enjoy again as Jessica Leia performs “Wonderful” – a sort of love child between a Disney soundtrack and Freddy Mercury! If you enjoy upbeat, mildly theatrical music, this song is a no brainer. Enjoy as Jessica Leia performs “Wonderful” SOLO with just her vocals and piano. Get inspired as she belts out fun loving lyrics about finding that wonderful place somewhere beyond it all, where no matter what the circumstance in life are, one can still embrace the passing events with joy in their heart.

PART 3
Join Jessica Leia and the band behind the scenes while they record this month’s song: “Wonderful”! It’s not just a wonderful song, it’s a wonderful recording session; fully equipped with shwetty balls. (Remember when recording to dress in layers, lest you get too hot). There will also be sound checks, head phone yoga and kindergarten arts and crafts projects disguised as chord charts. That’s all of course, AFTER Jessica spends 100 years trying to make her pedal to stop making clicking noises. No one wants clicking noises in their song after all.

WARNING: Non-PC events may occur, including midget wrestling and spontaneous strip teases.

PART 4
Enjoy a quick re-cap of parts 1-3 of this month’s episode here on “Me and My Song” and then enjoy some more as Jessica Leia performs “Wonderful” – a sort of love child between a Disney soundtrack and Freddy Mercury! If you enjoy upbeat, mildly theatrically music, this song is a no brainer.

SYNOPSIS…

PART 1
This month on “Me and My Song”, Jessica Leia introduces us to the song “Trapped Inside”. A song, Jessica tells us, that is one of those ‘writes itself throughout your whole life’ kinda songs. As such, “Trapped Inside” began writing itself when Jessica was at the ripe old age of 7. At that time, she had a rather vivid realization about how she was, in fact, the only one inside of her body and that no one – nobody – no matter how close, could ever be inside there with her. Not only that, but the pain she was feeling was also in there with her and she had no way to escape it. Bummer. So then; what do you do about all that pain inside? Well, naturally, you just shove it deep down inside like any good human does. Then maybe later in life, when it all starts to bubble up to the surface, you can look for help and do Buddhist things or maybe take hallucinogens – at least that’s what Jessica did. Eventually, after you’ve meditated enough and your brain cracks just the right amount, you can face all that pain. Pain that you realize you’ve spent your whole life just trying to find ways to run from. And then after that, who knows, maybe you can write song about it called “Trapped Inside” … Sounds like a good plan!

PART 2
Enjoy a quick recap of PART 1, wherein Jessica Leia tells the story behind this month’s song: “Trapped Inside”. Then enjoy some more as Jessica performs the song for you all by her lonesome! Outer spacey, and with hints of modern-day sounds, “Trapped Inside” has touches of what could best be described as having old, eerie folk melodies woven within it. Jessica Leia performs “Trapped Inside” solo on stage. With just her keys and her rich, velvet voice, Jessica sings a haunted and beautiful song with lyrics which speak of the disturbing feeling that we are trapped - all alone - inside of these bodies of ours.

PART 3
Jessica Leia hangs out with the guys in studio as she takes you behind the scenes into a real recording studio and records this month’s song: “Trapped Inside”. Take a peek at what goes on behind the scenes while recording this haunting, heartfelt ballad … which is mostly bad jokes actually. But you will also experience some serious piano bench finagling, fussy bass players, lots of empirical evidence and even a money shot! Oh, and gas, there will be gas... (I mean, why else would you come to planet earth if there weren’t gas?) Hopefully somewhere amidst all of that, PLUS the distracting distractions of genius from all of the geniuses at work, this song will actually get recorded today!

PART 4
Enjoy a recap of this month’s adventures on “Me and My Song” and then enjoy the culmination of all of this month’s hard work: “Trapped Inside”.

SYNOPSIS…
PART 1
Enjoy the final monologue of Season 2 here on “Me and My Song” as Jessica goes off on a tangent about childhood memories, other worlds and how she’s so passionate about this month’s song that she has literally cracked her head open because of it! Jessica Leia tells the tale behind this month’s song: “Sail On” and how it was born because of … well, because of the way she was born.
Come along as Jessica recounts the tale of her restless bug that keeps taking her to new and exciting places - even though she never has anything to show for it and it probably just stems from the fact that she doesn’t really feel at home here on planet earth. But hey, at least she’s willing to get out of her comfort zone and drive to exotic places like neighborhood parks and her backyard! That’s just the sort of that thing that happens when you have ants in your pants and they make you do the boogie dance…

PART 2
For this final, PART 2 segment of SEASON 2 here “Me and My Song, Jessica Leia will walk you through a quick re-cap of the story behind this month’s original piece and then take the stage to perform it!

Enjoy “Sail On”, acoustic SOLO style, as Jessica Leia picks up her guitar and sings this upbeat, folk-rock kinda tune. With a pensive and mellow beginning, “Sail On” abruptly jumps into a head bobbing song as Jessica sings her heart out about that restless bug that keeps someone constantly roaming…

PART 3
Jessica Leia and the crew head over to Skyline Studios to record the Basic Tracks for this season’s final song: “Sail On”. Watch as Jessica runs around like a chicken with her head cut off while the guys in the band sit around being incredibly impatient about the whole thing. And speaking of chickens: do you know what comes first? The “G” or the “A”? Actually, it looks like nobody around here knows, but it sure is entertaining trying to watch them figure it out!
Meanwhile there’s an intern on duty in the control room so be prepared for glitches in the matrix that may result in multiple personalities. There’s plenty of chocolate and plenty of fun, but the wine is running out (maybe that’s why everybody is falling down the stairs), so enjoy another fabulous day in a real recording studio! After all, it ends up being a pretty good day ‘cause well, these guys are pretty good guys. (But don’t tell ‘em I said that).

PART 4
For this final PART 4 segment of SEASON 2 here “Me and My Song”, Jessica Leia will walk you through a quick re-cap of the adventures behind this month’s original piece and then perform it with the band!

Enjoy “Sail On” - an upbeat, folk-rock kinda tune with a pensive and mellow start which abruptly jumps into a head bobbing, blood pumping zinger! Enjoy playful guitar licks, some awesome drum and bass solos as well as powerful vocals that Jessica belts out while she sings of that restless bug that keeps someone constantly roaming…

PART 1
Jessica Leia was a song writing rookie when she wrote this month’s song; “After A While”. Consequently, it ended up being kind of a long song. But hey, it’s a song that ultimately concludes time isn’t really all that important anyway, so there yu go.
Join Jessica on stage, along with guest appearances from: Mz. Floozy, Father Time, OMG Girl and even Debbie Downer, as they discuss how time can’t make people strangers when they share a true love bond. Enjoy a bit of intel about Jessica’s childhood where she didn’t really bond with other humans, but was lucky enough to have a really cool aunt to hang out with. They would watch horror movies and get into M&M battles and you know what? Jessica wouldn’t trade those times for the world … even though that might not be saying much, because she’s not really all that impressed with this world…. None-the-less, you’ll enjoy getting the scoop about why this song was ever even born and shucks, Jessica might even dedicate it to you personally!

PART 2
Jessica Leia gives you a recap of why this month’s song “After A While” was ever even born and then takes the stage, singing the song SOLO just for you … and anyone else who would like to hear it.

PART 3
For this month’s song: “After A While,” Jessica Leia and the band (and Luna the dog), all head over to Laughing Tiger studios and bang out some basic tracks on yet another fantabulous tune here on: “Me and My Song”!
You will enjoy a behind the scenes adventure where you’ll get to watch Jessica and her handy dandy cam guy give the clap to all of the recording equipment. You’ll see firsthand what it looks like when a drummer gets testy. And you’ll also get to watch as Jessica begrudgingly caves to the whims of her bandmates, who are protesting a lack of vocals on Jessica’s end, as they endeavor to record their respective parts. You’ll get a little recording music intel throughout the process and watch the band go a little tribal for a moment, but other than that, it’s really just a typical day at the office here on “Me and My Song”!

PART 4
Enjoy a quick recap of this month’s musical adventure here on “Me and My Song”. It’s been a behind the scenes look at the making of this Episode’s tune: “After A While”. And holy Toledo, after that, you get to hear the whole entire song, itself! The piece will be presented and performed to the backdrop of a rock star video that Jessica made, herself – using all the footage accumulated over the previous month.

PART 1
Jessica Leia takes the stage and walks us through some of her approaches to songwriting and how that “played” out in this month’s song: “Brand New Elvis” … She will also fill you in on the concept behind the song itself. Which is, more-or-less, a discussion on the dissatisfaction that this matrix brings us and how we, as humans, constantly try and fill that hole of dissatisfaction with “the next best thing”. And that’s not mentioning that we tend to act a bit bratty in the process of attaining those things which we believe WILL fill that proverbial hole. But anyway, also, this week, enjoy a guest appearance from her co-songwriter, Dean Kattari, who shares his own insights on the writing of this month’s tune - discussing the layers of lyrical themes and how the chords sound pugilistic. (We’ll let you look that word up for yourself).

PART 2
Join Jessica Leia this week on “Me and My Song”, as she gives a quick re-cap behind the making of this month’s tune, “Brand New Elvis”! Then enjoy, as she takes the stage and rocks it out!!

With punchy chords banging out in the bass of her piano, Jessica Leia rolls through an acoustic version of an almost punk rock sounding song: “Brand New Elvis”. Go ahead and enjoy a carnival of tones that come pounding out of the keys, matched with knock ‘em out vocals. Combined together they will make for one badass solo version of this aggressive, yet poignant piece.

PART 3
Welcome to “Me and My Song”! This week, Jessica Leia and a couple of guys from the band are rockin’ it out in Issaquah WA - recording ‘The Basic Tracks’ for this month’s song: “Brand New Elvis”. We don’t always record ‘The Basic Tracks’ of a tune the way we are going to this week. THIS time, we will be taking more of a production approach – layering each track, one at a time and then combining them for the final mix. There will be crappy symbols, hi-hat mic condoms, quivering furballs aaaaand R.O.U.S’s … Although, I don’t think they exist.

PART 4
Jessica Leia covers what’s been done in the writing and recording of this month’s song: “Brand New Elvis” and then she performs the final studio version for you right here on “Me and My Song”

“Brand New Elvis” is a punchy rock tune filled with a wall of guitars and aggressive vocals that walk you through the story of always seeking the next best thing in life. Enjoy bang ‘em out drums inside of a bang ‘em out combo of sounds that create a tasty, grungy kinda rock that sometimes flows into an airy space of tones but sometimes jumps into a sharp groove that makes you wanna tap your feet (and maybe even bang your head)!

PART 5
Look out … it’s a BONUS SUNDAY! “Me and My Song” is a video series formatted for a 4-week month, but sometimes there are fiiiiive weeks. So, on that 5th week, Jessica Leia adds another segment to the show, which she calls: “Bonus Sunday”. For this “Bonus Sunday,” Jessica Leia is gonna throw at y’all a wall of sound in a live performance put on by she and her very obnoxious band! … That is, if she can get them to shush long enough to actually perform anything. We’ll see what happens. (insert shoulder shrugging emoji here)

SYNOPSIS…
PART 1
Sometimes you just wanna write a pretty song and that’s how this month’s song: “I’ll Keep Believing” was ever even born. But you have to choose a subject matter if you want lyrics for that song and in Part 1 of this month’s episode here on “Me and My Song”, Jessica Leia will tell you how those words were inspired.
Strange things can happen when you’re cleaning a floor that Rhett Butler once walked on – like vision understanding thingies that reveal the Truth (with a capitol “T”) and how that Truth doesn’t need anyone to believe in it in order to exist. But we keep on believing in things anyway, which is cool because otherwise, we might not have a reality to play inside of. And now that we’ve got a subject matter for some lyrics, where did that floor cleanser go?

PART 2
Enjoy a quick recap of last week’s telling of why this month’s song: “I’ll Keep Believing” was ever even born and then enjoy a solo performance as Jessica Leia takes the stage with just her voice and her acoustic guitar.

“I’ll Keep Believing” SOLO:
“I’ll Keep Believing” is a soft rock song with an almost Bossa Nova kind of feel. Jessica Leia plays acoustic guitar in this solo version of the song. Enjoy as she sings - in a sometimes velvety, at other times powerful voice - poetic and contemplative lyrics about the fine art of believing.

PART 3
Jessica Leia and the band head on down to Skyline Studios this month here on “Me and My Song”! Enjoy watching the gang while they record this month’s song: “I’ll Keep Believing”. You’ll get to see how modern music technology is so incredibly helpful when you’re in a recording studio … or maybe not. Enjoy a tour of the studio, a quick lesson on overdubs and how Jessica Leia helps the people in her life be far more incredibly healthy… or maybe not. Either way, don’t worry: they will get this song recorded… Promise.

PART 4
Jessica Leia walks you through a quick recap of all the horseplay this month on “Me and My Song” as she prepares to sing the final vocals for this month’s song: “I’ll Keep Believing”. Then enjoy the final music video, comprised of footage accumulated throughout the month that has documented the process of creation.

“I’ll Keep Believing” is a soft rock song with an almost Bossa Nova kind of feel. Imagine Chris Isaak meets Roberta Flack and you’ll have an idea. Jessica Leia plays acoustic guitar in the background of a beautiful canvas of tones. Enjoy pensive bass lines, and sexy drum rhythms spiced with tambourine, tasty electric guitar chord comps and a gorgeous solo with the lead, as Jessica Leia sings - in a sometimes velvety, and at other times powerful voice - poetic and contemplative lyrics about the fine art of believing.

PART 1
Jessica Leia takes the stage and explains how this month’s song: “Kisses” came to be. It was all because she heard a phonetically fun phrase: ‘kisses illicit kisses”, and at that moment she knew she would use it someday in a song. A song, it ends up, that is all about nothing. Well ok, it’s basically about kissing, but Jessica doesn’t really recommend kissing anyone because really, well, it’s just disgusting.
Enjoy as Jessica explains the realities of how filthy our mouths really are and how kissing is essentially nothing more than a fabulous way to transfer large amounts of bacteria. (Bacteria that grows in your body and stays there for the rest of your life. Eww!)

Although the lyrics in this song are singing about kisses and hugs, Jessica will not be pitching it to Hershey for commercial use because she takes her chocolate consumption far too seriously to support milk chocolate that tastes like barf.

Meanwhile, on a field trip to the dentist’s office, Jessica asks her dentist what he thinks about kissing and it ends up that he thinks her mouth is clean enough to kiss. Sadly, he refrains from doing so due to social norms. What a gentleman. And he would never judge anyone because they have bad breath. But Jessica will, so brush those teeth, pop in some sugar free gum and enjoy this week’s segment of “Me and My Song”!

PART 2
Enjoy this month’s song: “Kisses” which will, this time, be performed SOLO by Jessica Leia on her groovy FS Wurly organ sound patch. It is, after all, a wurly durly kinda song - about kissing and hugging - and it probably sounds like nothing you’ve ever heard before.

Kinda sexy and kinda playful, “Kisses” keeps a strong syncopated beat underneath countless trills tossed in the treble. The bump and grind in the groove creates a fun, off kilter drive that almost feels like a 5/4 time … but isn’t. It’s a one chord song in the bass but uses minor pentatonic scale notes on top which makes it sound kinda bluesy and kinda rock n’ rolly all at the same time! Meanwhile Jessica dances around the keys and sings a sultry song about smoochin’ and rubbin’!

PART 3
Jessica Leia and the band head over to Mega Sonic Studio to record the basic tracks for this month’s song: “Kisses”. After setting up and taking a family picnic screenshot photo, the gang gets to work actually recording the music.
There’s a little bit of uncertainty about where to pull out all the stops and a little bit of demeaning each other about some of the noodling around that’s goin’ on. But mostly everyone is on task as they exercise their musicianship skills AND their rights as Americans … I just thought I’d throw that in there …and that’s my right as an American. Speaking of throwing that in there, how about a little a dog butt in 4k as a grand finale and then we can call it a wrap at yet another fabulous recording session here on “Me and My Song”.

PART 4
In this week’s segment of “Me and My Song” Jessica will give a quick recap of all of everything that’s been happening here this month on the show - then you get to enjoy this month’s song: “Kisses”!

Kinda sexy and kinda playful, “Kisses” keeps a strong syncopated beat underneath countless trills tossed in the treble. The bump and grind in the groove creates a fun, off kilter drive that almost feels like a 5/4 time … but isn’t. It’s a one chord song in the bass clef but uses minor pentatonic scale notes on top which makes it sound kinda bluesy and kinda rock n’ rolly all at the same time! You’ll hear a driving bass guitar, sexy and playful electric guitars and double kicking drums all bringing this song to life as Jessica Leia dances around on her organ and sings in a sultry voice a song that’s all about smoochin’ and rubbin’!

SYNOPSIS…

PART 1
Sometimes you get really pissed off at God for abandoning you. Then Boom! God is there … in your bathroom, of all places. And it dawns on you that everything could never be anything outside of itself so you don’t have to worry about being abandoned by anyone … ever. It’s kinda like remembering that you forgot you remembered who you are. Pickin up what I’m droppin? Well, you might if you listen to Jessica Leia as she chats about an experience that adjusted her thinking a bit and put a new blip on her radar … a lot of blips, actually. And how the Divine WIFI is something that we can all tap into when we leave enough bandwidth available for it. Unless of course, we rather just sit around and be cry asses all the time.

PART 2
See a quick recap of the chat Jessica Leia had with you last week about her song: “You Are the One”. Then enjoy as she pulls the keys in close and sings it for yu!
SOLO Song Description
An intimate and haunting ballad; “You Are the One” is performed solo by Jessica Leia. Written in a 6/8 time and in a minor key, the song expresses a feeling of mystery and cosmology. Jessica Leia sings heartfelt lyrics about the continued search for communion with the Divine.

PART 3
You can go back in to time immediately from this space. Or maybe it’s go back in to space from that point in time…? That might sound confusing but figuring out how to go in and out of time IS pretty tricky business. It’s a good thing that musicians are good at time travel! Join Jessica Leia and the band this week on “Me and My Song”, as they head on in to a recording studio, time travel, take a bunch of takes, and get a bit testy with each other. Don’t worry though – there’s plenty of sock lint and hugs to go around at the end. Especially when the cam guy FINALLY does something right!

PART 4
Jessica Leia walks you through the journey of the writing and the recording of this month’s song: “You Are the One” and then plays the fully mixed, mastered and produced version of the song, to the backdrop of a really cool rock star music video.
ELECTRIC Song Description

“It’s So Fun” – SOLO: With just her playful vocals and punchy acoustic guitar, Jessica Leia performs “It’s So Fun”, all upbeat, playful and sassy like. That is of course a description of the music, itself, as well as the lyrics, which playfully poke the bear and dare you to laugh a little at life. A Pop-Rock Acoustic tune that bounces between bar chords and open chords, “It’s So Fun” is sure to leave you in a better mood than you were in before yu heard it!

“It’s So Fun” – Studio Version: “It’s So Fun” IS so fun! A Pop-Rock playful tune, with punchy guitars and nifty drum fills: think Spin Doctors meets Steve Miller meets George Michael…. Uh, but with a female vocalist. Vocals, by the way, that playfully poke the bear and dare you to laugh a little at life. “It’s So Fun” is sure to leave you in a better mood than you were in before yu heard it!

SYNOPSIS…

PART 1
Go ahead and grab yourself some kind of beverage before you watch Jessica Leia take the stage, but don’t worry about a snack because this week on “Me and My Song”, she is going to give you PLENTY to chew on. It won’t just be the unabashed honesty with which she explains her misguided and often times destructive love life. She will also bend your mind as she discusses the realities of how impossible happiness is when you are suffering from brain washing mind programs – and don’t even realize it! Not, like project Mockingbird programs, more like, the “Bullshit Romantic Fantasy Software Program” … which is actually more like a virus, really. A virus that has led Jessica - and more than likely many of us - on a path of heartache and sometimes even destruction, until we can break the spell of our programming and just be present with ourselves and each other, long enough to see things for what they are, instead of resenting them for not being what they’re not. And that, my friends, is why this month’s song: “Something Better” was ever even born!

PART 2
Jessica Leia rocks the keys and blasts the vocals in this solo rendition of “Something Better”. This song starts out sweet and gentle but quickly rocket blasts into an inspirational tale of waking up from the illusions of love and realizing that is a good thing. You’ll hear hints of Alanis Morissette and Melissa Etheridge when the vocals get rough, and keys reminiscent of 90’s pop-rock style, but Jessica makes it all her own as she belts out a heartfelt and determined story about finding something better.

PART 3
SO much fun to just hang out with the team and see how this month’s song, “Something Better” gets recorded in real time by real people with a real dog in the studio that adds real dog farts to the experience. Ok, maybe that last part isn’t THAT fun. But hey, we keep shit real here on “Me and My Song”, so join us in studio this week as Jessica Leia teases her drummer Rich about not knowing the parts of the song and as she also breaks out into random song improvising mid recording session. Rich decides to bust out some random song singing as well, but his song makes no G*dman sense. Smh.

Watch in wonder as master producer, guitar player and bbq-er, Dean Kattari lays down each layer of this super groovy pop-rock song like a pro, (because he IS one)! So what if he knocks over a couple of mics and pisses off the bass guitar union of America in the process? Enjoy the fun and be happy this isn’t smell-a-vision…

PART 4
Join Jessica Leia as she goes in studio to record some final vocals this week on “Me and My Song”! She will walk you through the adventures of this month’s musical adventures which naturally lead to the culmination of this month’s song:

“Something Better”…

Open up your ragtop and get cruising with “Something Better” playing loud through the speakers because well, it’s just that kind of song! With a beautifully blended wall of pop sound to back her up, Jessica Leia lays on some powerful vocals that tell of an inspirational tale about waking up from the illusions of love and realizing that is a good thing. It sounds like it could be a song from Disney or the Never-Ending Story, but Jessica makes it all her own as she belts out a heartfelt and determined story about finding something better.

PART 1
Sometimes you go out for all of your dreams and they end up turning into poop. Caca. Terd, terd. But hey, that’s better than just sittin’ around and settling for just getting by. At least that’s what Jessica Leia has concluded. And she will tell you, in comic detail, all about her dreams that went to poop, here on “Me and My Song” in PART 1 of this month’s Episode: “Just Getting By.”
Come see about all of the adventures surrounding this month’s song, “Just Getting By” and how they led Jessica to some pretty interesting places, like driving through burning forests. And to some pretty interesting people, like folks from Wiccan and Christian record labels. Yes: Wiccan AND Christian.
Moral of the story this week is to make no mistake; that Law of Attraction shit really does work. Just look out, because if you aren’t happy on the inside when you’re tryin’ to make a happy life on the outside, it’s very possible that you may run into things like black mold and termites, crooks at the DMV and fungus growing out of your ears. (P.S. You may also find that motorcyclists run into YOU.) … Not even kidding.

PART 2
Jessica Leia gives a recap on the wild and wooly circumstances that surround this month’s song: “Just Getting By.” Then she sings it for yu SOLO, in ‘The Raw Reveal’ portion of this month’s episode here on “Me and My Song” … “Just Getting By” is a waltz that Jessica will play for you, solo, on acoustic guitar. It is a ballad that seems like a cross between an old Irish folk song and something that “The Carpenters” may have sung once upon a time. The song is an intimate and tender tune about the internal struggles one faces when they acknowledge that their life hasn’t quite turned out the way they had hoped…

PART 3
We’re experimentin’ in the recording studio this week here on “Me and My Song”! Join Jessica Leia and Producer, Dean Kattari while they (and Mr. Rich DiBenedetto on percussion), take a previously recorded tune (that was a recording studio disaster), and bring it back to life! Muahaha!!
That would be of course, this month’s song: “Just Getting By”. You’ll watch as Jessica makes chicken pluck sounds AND has déjà vu while recording her guitar tracks. And also, as Rich shakes some ninja salt shakers on top of Jessica’s guitar tracks, (which naturally, reminds Jessica of doing hallucinogenics). You’ll also learn how to make sprinkle, tinkle sounds with hot rods (not to be mistaken for hot dogs). Warning: sprinkle tinkle sounds may lead one to feel as if they are in an altered state of mind.
There were no drugs in the making of this video, but there sure were some tasty basic tracks laid down… so tasty you could eat ‘em! … Depending on how hungry you are. Enjoy all these magical, behind the scenes moments! And remember kids: you can experiment with music too.

PART 4
Jessica Leia takes you on a quick tour of this last month’s musical adventures here on “Me and My Song”, and then she presents you with the culmination of this month’s musical adventures: “Just Getting By”.

PART 5
Well, just like in Season One of “Me and My Song”, we had to have at least one recording session go kaputs here in Season Two! So welcome to this season’s first BONUS SUNDAY, which presents to you a recording session gone wrong. There was no music used from this session in the final recording of this month’s song, “Just Getting By”, but that doesn’t make the recording session any less entertaining. SO, enjoy all of the madness (as in “crazy” and as in “being pissed off”) in all of these fabulous, behind the scenes moments and discover how and why this session ended up not turning out so well… Hint: It wasn’t because of all the dirty talk and inappropriate remarks. In fact, it probably had something more to do with that fact that everybody kind of sucked at playing the song. Good thing Jessica Leia was there to chew everyone out for not doing their homework.

SYNOPSIS…

PART 1
What do you get when you cross a Patsy Cline rhythmic pattern with a cacophony of noise created by music students? (drumroll please) … Well, you get this month’s song: “Shadow”. Join Jessica Leia this first week of the month here on “Me and My Song”, as she (and a number of her subpersonalities) tell the story behind the writing of “Shadow”. She will share childhood nightmares, reflections upon the extreme potentials in all of us and how incredibly ugly her shadow self is. But don’t worry, Jessica doesn’t diss her shadow self just because it’s ugly – instead she embraces it, because like it or not, it IS there.

PART 2
Join Jessica Leia this week on “Me and My Song” as she inserts a re-cap from last week about the behind the scenes writing of this month’s song: “Shadow” … Then she’s gonna sing it for yu! … SOLO, in The Raw Reveal portion of this month’s episode of “Me and My Song”. Because of its upbeat, Honky-Tonky kind of shuffle, “Shadow” will have you bobbin' your head to Jessica Leia's bouncy, Honky-Tonk piano playing. But it will also have you rubbing your chin in thought when you notice that those playful, yet sultry sounding vocals are actually singing about something very dark... Enjoy. And if Jessica starts screamin’, don’t worry about it – it’s only her shadow.

PART 3
Welcome to week 3 this month here on “Me and My Song”. Jessica Leia and the band are headin’ on down to Mega Sonic or Ultra Sonic or Something Sonic Studio (I mean, what’s in a name, really?), to record The Basic Tracks of this month’s song: “Shadow”! There will not only be difficulties figuring out the name of the place, but also difficulties figuring out when to change chords and stuff. (Insert shoulder shrugging emoji here) … There will be plenty of bickering amongst the rhythm section, some booby traps and an abundance of communication problems for the viewing audience to enjoy. Because hey, these things can be complicated. Fortunately, Jessica’s, female brain is used to complicated. But don’t worry, even though recording this song is a real bear, all of those wild and wooly musicians will figure it out in the end… Especially once Jessica admits that she’s the problem… Ummm… you guys aren’t supposed to agree with her when she says that…

PART 4
Well hi there and hello from all of us multiple personalities here on “Me and My Song”… Come along as Jessica Leia recaps y’all some reminders about how it’s all gone this month exploring the song, “Shadow”. Then you can open a seat and pull up a beer while you enjoy listening to the final culmination of the tune: fully mixed, mastered and produced for your listening pleasure.
"Shadow" is a surprisingly playful and upbeat Honky-Tonky kind of song. There will be Honky-Tonk piano, slide guitar, and a shuffle beat. You will be bobbing your head to this quasi-classic Country sounding tune, but also rubbing your chin in thought as you notice that those playful sounding vocals are actually singing about something very dark...

SYNOPSIS…

PART 1
A parasite just wants a nice home…. AND to destroy you. Join Jessica Leia this week on “Me and My Song” as she explains the inspiration behind this month’s song: “My Soul”… A song that clearly explains how it feels to be violated by a “Parasite Person”. What’s a “Parasite Person”, you say? Well, some people are parasites and Jessica Leia calls them “Parasite People”. You may know one or two of them. They usually do things like suck the life out of you and make you feel horrible about who you are, all the while, going around acting sweet as pie to everyone else. “Parasite People”, just like parasite, parasites, literally change your brain so that you will unwittingly do things to create an environment that better suits their survival… and then they’ll leave you for dead. But hey, Jessica Leia is here to remind you that as horrible as that all may sound, at least sometimes “Parasite People” also inspire you to write music.

PART 2
Jessica Leia gives you a quick recap of last week’s story behind this song: “My Soul” … and then she sings it for yu! On a dark stage, with just her voice and her piano, Jessica Leia delivers a beautiful, yet dark and brooding ballad. It is a ballad of theatric proportions, reminiscent of something you might hear in the Phantom of the Opera. But in this story, the song isn’t about a love that can never be, it is a song about a love that was and that resulted in the violation of the deepest part of a human being: their soul.

PART 3
The thing about recording intense music is that everybody at the recording session always gets so gosh darn sensitive! At least that’s what happens this week on, ”Me and My Song”, as Jessica Leia and the band head on down to a recording studio to record The Basic Tracks for this month’s song: “My Soul”. Be prepared for inner wounded child issues, random folks coming in off of the street with random bags of dog poop aaaand lizard people. Yes, I said lizard people. Nothing to be afraid of here though, we’re just hangin’ out and recording music while we trust in the eternal nature of our souls…

PART 4
Jessica Leia’s gonna take you on a walk down memory lane so you can have a look at the wild musical adventures she has had while creating this month’s song: “My Soul”. And then, well, gee golly, she’s gonna show the music video that is, of course, comprised of all the footage she has collected over the last month and where, of course, you will be able to enjoy the final, recorded, mixed and mastered version of the 2nd tune for Season 2 here on “Me & My Song”!
“My Soul” is a beautiful, yet dark and brooding ballad. Jessica Leia’s sultry and severe vocals lay on top of an instrumental background filled with ambient minor sounds and haunted tones. It is a song of theatric proportions, reminiscent of something you might hear in the Phantom of the Opera. But in this story, the song isn’t about a love that can never be, it is a song about a love that was and that resulted in the violation of the deepest part of a human being: their soul.

SYNOPSIS…

PART 1
Are you watching the show or starring in it? Jessica Leia pretty much feels like she’s always doing both in this show we call life. That, she says, is part of why this month’s song “Welcome to the Show,” was ever even born.
Learn the history of how Jessica was chillin’ in a theta brain wave state when a sudden peace about life and all of its goings-on inspired her to write this tune. In fact, Jessica says life wrote this song for her, she just had to make sure to rhyme the words at the end of each line with words at the end of the next line.

And please do step right up as a double-sided task master mischievously tries to sell you tickets to this somewhat questionable show, all the while, ensuring you that you can’t put a price on such an event … even though you will die at the end.

Enjoy a little story about when - whilst on “medicine” - Life, herself came to visit Jessica in order to set Jessica straight about what it means to actually embrace Life.

In the end, even with all the potential hazards of living in this show we call life, (like lions and tigers and bears … and STD’s), Jessica still stands by the lyrics in this month’s song “Welcome to the Show” that assuredly state: “Don’t be afraid, it’s just life!”

PART 2
Jessica Leia sings "Welcome to the Show" for yu’ – SOLO - in the Raw Reveal. Join Jessica and her friend Grace, as she performs for you a finger snappin' kinda song, in good ol' fashioned “girl with a guitar” style - a song about the show we call life!

PART 3
This week on “Me and My Song”, Jessica Leia and her band of wild hooligans are heading over to Skyline studios to record The Basic Tracks for “Welcome to the Show”. As always, there will be lots of sarcasm, lots of chocolate and LOTS of doo doos … wait wha? … as Jessica Leia and the guys try to remember what the heck they rehearsed yesterday, so that they can actually record it today… Yesterday can seem so long ago sometimes.

And it can be rather difficult to communicate in a recording session when people are all separated from each other, so sometimes you ultimately just end up talking to the hand. (Insert emoji hand here) But something must get accomplished in this recording session because at the end of the day, Jessica made a whole, entire video about it! So, have a seat and join the bass player in pulling out some fat rolls because it’s time to rock AND roll! ….. Dah doo dah doo doo doo…

PART 4
Hopefully you've enjoyed taking a look at the wild musical adventures Jessica Leia has had while creating this month’s song: “Welcome to the Show”.
'Cause, well, gee golly, she’s gonna show the music video that is, of course, comprised of all the footage she has collected over the last month and where, of course, you will be able to enjoy the final, recorded, mixed and mastered version of the very first tune for Season 2 here on “Me & My Song”!

Me & My Song SE1 Episode 11

“Mixdown Month”

PART 1:
Come along this week on “Me and My Song” as the recording of this Season’s album is finally getting wrapped up! On this PART 1 / week 1 of “Mixdown Month”, join Jessica and some of the other familiar faces from the season, as you get walked through some of the final processes that go in to putting an album together. You’ll get to learn some of the teensy, tiny, little details that go in to editing and mixing down music. You’ll also get to learn that Jessica has trust issues and doesn’t really know what’s going on. And while that may not be surprising, you MAY be surprised to know that this installment only has an ALMOST happy ending. But enjoy it anyway!

PART 2:
Hey we’re just hangin’ out here, editing and mixing and mastering some music during Mixdown Month on “Me and My Song”. Come take a look at what kind of crazy stuff happens when you spend hours working on your music projects …. (Like going kind of crazy, for example).
This week, for PART 2 of “Mixdown Month”, Jessica Leia works hard with an engineer on editing and mixing down a song. You will learn about how all the pop stars fix their sour notes with software, how it’s best to have more than one brain working on a project at once and how important banana time is. (Almost as important as having a banana phone). Watch and learn all about the secrets of music production inside of magic software, as Jessica discovers that it’s not all it’s cracked up to be and she also tries to figure out (as per usual), what the heck is going on!

PART 3:
Hey we’re just hangin’ out here, editing and mixing and mastering some music during Mixdown Month on “Me and My Song”. It may not be the funnest job in the world, but somebody’s gotta do it! And hey, we’re pretty fun, so if you’re gonna see how this stuff works behind the scenes, you may as well check it out with us! ESPECIALLY since there will be medieval rabbits filleting some poor, Roman guy… (Ok, that doesn’t NORMALLY happen during music editing, but no one here ever claimed to be normal).

PART 4:
Hey we’re just hangin’ out here, editing and mixing and mastering some music during Mixdown Month on “Me and My Song! In this final PART 4 of Mixdown Month, Jessica Leia interviews Steve Savage about the elements of mixing and mastering while she spits on him… But it’s ok, Steve’s cool with it. <shrugging shoulders>

Verse 1
Well I was just sittin’ around. I was just lookin’ for God
Searchin’ for some truth.
I was just prayin’ for Paradise, so it didn’t seem odd
when I found you.

Verse 2
Well, you could call it coincidence, you could say it was luck;
or that you fell out of the blue. But when you consider the circumstance,
I think you’d have to admit that, that isn’t true.

Chorus
Cause I was just lookin’ just lookin’ for a little bit of Heaven –
When along came you.

Verse 3
I’ll bet you didn’t know you’re a miracle.
I’ll bet you weren’t even aware,
that you’re my living proof,
that allows me to testify
to the power of prayer.
And I surely do.

Chorus
‘Cause I was just lookin’, just lookin’ for a little bit of Heaven –
when along came you

Bridge
They say the Lord works in mysterious ways and in all my days, Lordy I’d say
that’s true.
‘Cause I was lookin’ for wings and halos and things like pearly gates I gotta say
I never knew, an angel could look just like you.
Yaba-dabba-doo!

Verse 4
Well I was just sittin’ around. I was just lookin’ for God.
Searchin’ for some truth.
I was just prayin’ for Paradise so it didn’t seem odd
When I found you.

Chorus
