CHRISTMAS Stuff/MOVIES
CHRISTMAS ain't no joke;
Even if you/I question "Divine revelation" . . .
The SPIRIT should make one/me mist up---once in a while . . .
The CHRISTMAS Classic--based, quoted, & borrowed from/upon Dickens's "A CHRISTMAS CAROL."
Beautifully & lavishly produced & filmed, with compelling special effects, and with 11 timeless musical production-numbers/songs, all of a traditional English nature, and in keeping with the theme & spirit of the original tale.
*** "MANKIND should be our business, but we seldom attend to it--as YOU shall see . . ." --Jacob Marley's ghost; ex-businessman
"A Christmas Carol" was written from October to December of 1843, and was published as a novella.
Dickens had to pay the expenses of production, as Chapman and Hall published it on commission. *
It helped make CHARLES DICKENS one of the most famous and popular authors & speakers of the 19th century.
" . . . 'A Christmas Carol' quite consumed his mind during the weeks of its writing. He 'wept and laughed, and wept again, and excited himself in a most extraordinary manner in the composition; and thinking whereof he walked about the black streets of London fifteen and twenty miles many a night when all sober folks had gone to bed'. Great lyrics.
*************************************************************************LYRICS********************************************************************
You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch
You really are a heel;
You're as cuddly as a cactus
You're as charming as an eel,
Mr. Grinch:
You're a bad banana with a
Greasy black peel.
You're a monster, Mr. Grinch
Your heart's an empty hole;
Your brain is full of spiders
You've got garlic in your soul,
Mr. Grinch:
I wouldn't touch you with a
Thirty-nine-and-a-half-foot pole.
You're a vile one, Mr. Grinch
You have termites in your smile;
You have all the tender sweetness
Of a sea-sick crocodile,
Mr Grinch:
Given the choice between the two of you,
I'd take the sea-sick crocodile.
You're a foul one, Mr. Grinch
You're a nasty wasty skunk;
Your heart is full of unwashed socks
Your soul is full of gunk,
Mr. Grinch:
The three words that best describe you are as follows (and I quote):
Stink; stank; stunk.
You're a rotter, Mr. Grinch
You're the king of sinful sots;
Your heart's a dead tomato
Splotched with moldy purple spots,
Mr. Grinch:
Your soul is an appalling dump-heap
Overflowing with the most disgraceful assortment of deplorable rubbish imaginable
Mangled up in tangled-up knots.
You nauseate me, Mr. Grinch
With a nauseous super naus;
You're a crooked jerky jockey
And you drive a crooked hoss',
Mr. Grinch:
You're a three-decker sauerkraut-and-toadstool sandwich
With arsenic sauce!!!!!!!!!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
--- Definition of "Sot": A drunkard
--- "Hoss' " is an old American way of saying "horse."
--- "Arsenic" is--of course--poison.
******** THURL RAVENSCROFT: "Born in 1914, raised in Norfolk, Nebraska, Thurl Ravenscroft served as a navigator in the US Army Air Transport Command in World War II before settling in Hollywood. An accomplished singer, he performed with The Sportsmen Quartet, The Mellowmen Quartet, The Johnny Mann Singers, and many major stars, including Jim Nabors and Elvis Presley. He was best known, however, for his mellifluous voice-overs, and he voiced Tony the Tiger in countless advertisements for Kellogg's Frosted Flakes in both English and Spanish. In 1996 he and his wife June retired to southern California, although he still did occasional work as Tony. He died in 2005 . . ." --IMDb
VINCE GUARALDI. (Trio.)
"Vince" is always short for "Vincent."
Victorious. Victory. Invincible.
This is the Peanuts theme song . . .
Turn it up.
(Sometimes you gotta tear up for your music.)
I'd start using a "video converter" and save mp4's (videos) to usb thumb-drive sticks.
Either by those of us who post this stuff, but then have to take it down for fear of losing our abilities to shop for food, bank, work . . . or when they shut down sites like BitChute that do not comply with THE NEW WORLD ORDER of things . . .)
The INGALLS family moves overland (with harshness) from their "Little House in the Big Woods" of Pepin, Wisconsin to the hypothetically farmable prairie of Kansas in the early 1870s.
(This series is something that one must pay for. THIS particular BitChute video that you are watching is watchable, but is not what one would get if one bought the videos.
This video is somewhat cropped here & there and "worked upon" to make it available on the web without getting sued too harshly, and there is a tinkling piano in the background that is not original--for the same litigious reasons. Most relatively modern/successful productions are highly proprietary . . .
I highly recommend purchasing these vids, if you like them . . . or if you have kids.
They are great, and VERY highly produced.
The quality is top-notch, and is a great small investment.)
This vid is in 360.
It was taken from 480, so the sharpness ain't nothin' to write home about, but it's a great story . . .
I'd buy the market versions.
(WAEN TV- Atlanta--or some one calling themselves such on CrapTube--put this up in May of 2020, somehow.)
American decency. Family FUN. Even some HILARITY.
With Dom DeLuise, Bob Newhart, women in boots, Bob Hope, Dennis Weaver, & c.
(Seven minutes of quick appearances at the LONNNGGGG ending; the BIGGEST of the BIG & CO. paying their respects to helping disadvantaged youth: George Burns, William Holden, Tony Bennett, Nancy Sinatra, Johnny Carson, Bob Newhart, Glenn Ford, Glen Campbell, Raymond Burr, Don Rickles, Lorne Green, Agent 99/Barbara Feldon, Rowan & Martin, Hoss'/Dan Blocker, Roy Rogers, Michael Landon, Gomer Pyle/Jim Neighbors, Andy Griffith, Frank Sinatra Jr., Red Skelton, Tennessee Ernie Ford, James Stewart, Jack Benny, Lucille Ball.)
Skating & flowing . . .
Flowin' & skatin' . . .
A happy, fun, original, well-written, jovial, spritely-executed, well-recorded, festive, rejoicing CHRISTMAS SONG.
(Humans: Cheek-by-jowl; reveling in the spirit of CHRISTMAS. No masks anywhere . . .
Oh, the HORROR!)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------LYRICS--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The moon is right;
The spirit's up;
We're here tonight;
And that's enough!
Simply having a wonderful Christmas time!
Simply having a wonderful Christmas time!
The party's on;
The feeling's here
That only comes
This time of year!
Simply having a wonderful Christmas time!
Simply having a wonderful Christmas time!
The choir of children sing their song:
"Ding dong, ding dong
Ding dong, ding
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh--OOOOOH
Doo-doot, doo-doot, doo-doot doot!"
We're simply having a wonderful Christmas time!
Simply havin' a wonderful Christmas time!
The word is out
About the town;
So, lift a glass;
Ah, 'n don't look "down!" . . . ; )
Simply havin' a wonderful Christmas time!
The choir of children sing their song;
They practiced all year long:
"Ding dong, ding dong
Ding dong, ding dong
Dong dong, ding dong
Dong dong, dong dong!"
The party's on;
The spirit's up;
We're here tonight,
And that's enough!
We're simply havin' a wonderful Christmas time!
We're simply havin' a wonderful Christmas time!
(Wooaahh, woo hoo! . . . HAVIN' . . .)
( . . . A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS TIME! . . .)
(Woo hoo hoo . . .)
The mood is right;
The spirit's up;
We're here tonight:
Ohh, that's enough!
(YAH!)
We're simply havin' a wonderful Christmas time!
Simply havin' a wonderful Christmas time!
Simply havin' a wonderful Christmas time!
Ohhh, ohhh, ohhh, ohhh, (OH)
Ohhh, ohhh, ohhh
OH, CHRISTMAS TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
