Good morning, I’m still reporting on the coup.
What if it turns out that General Mark Milley, the current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was actually the commanding officer of the deeply covert agent provocateur group which incited and spearheaded the violence of the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol building?
Sounds impossible? Well maybe not.
According to author Julie Kelly of American Greatness – an online magazine that started 6 years ago: After Attorney General William Barr resigned from the Justice Department, Jeffrey Rosen became the acting Attorney General on Christmas Eve of 2020. With the Electoral College vote coming down only two weeks later on Jan. 6, 2021, Rosen began assembling a covert operations team to – apparently – infiltrate the rallies and protests that were scheduled that day in the Mall area of Washington, D.C.
How was it that Jeffrey Rosen came up with such a bold, seditious plan in so few days? It seems reasonable to assume that he had help from some organization with deep expertise in covert action. That pretty much narrows it down to either the CIA or the military version of it – the Defense Intelligence Agency. That’s the same outfit that Gen. Michael Flynn headed up after being appointed by President Obama in 2012. After two years at DIA, Flynn retired from the military after 31 years of meritorious service. I am positive that none of what you are about to hear could have possibly happened with Gen. Flynn at the helm of DIA.
Author Julie Kelly credits the following to Newsweek reporter William M. Arkin, who disclosed the following in a bombshell report earlier this year.
“There was no formal request from the U.S. Capitol Police, the Secret Service, or the Metropolitan Police Department—in fact, no external request from any agency.
“The leadership in Justice and the FBI anticipated the worst and decided to act independently, [with] … special operations forces lurking behind the scenes.”
Again, according to Arkin these special operators included “commandos” with shoot-to-kill authority. And among them were members of the military.
I have worked at OSD – the Office of the Secretary of Defense – as well as in conjunction with the Special Operations Forces (SOF) group – both in the Pentagon. I find it hard to believe that you could scrape together more than a handful of SOF operators treasonous enough to conduct the Jan. 6th operation the way it went down, but the FBI has it's own Special Operations unit and CIA certainly has folks who could be described as “commandos” to use William Arkin’s terminology.
To continue Julie Kelly quoting William Arkin:
“The presence of these extraordinary forces under the control of the Attorney General—and mostly operating under contingency plans that Congress and the U.S. Capitol Police were not privy to—added an additional layer of highly armed responders.
“The role that the military played in this highly classified operation is still unknown, though FBI sources tell Newsweek that military operators seconded to the FBI, and those on alert as part of the National Mission Force, were present in the metropolitan area.”
National Mission Force??? That’s a new one on me.
Rosen gave scant testimony about his secret mission before the House Oversight Committee in May 2021. According to Julie Kelly writing in “American Greatness”:
“Little else is known about Rosen’s secret mission. His testimony to the House Oversight Committee in May 2021 was just as obscure. Rosen, who publicly bragged to the January 6 select committee about his attempts to deter Team Trump from pursuing vote fraud days before the Capitol protest, said the FBI opened a multi-agency operation center, which included the Department of Defense, at FBI headquarters on January 5.”
Quoting Rosen again:
“Each of these federal agencies supplied personnel to staff the [center] 24/7 beginning on January 5 and 6, and continuing for a period thereafter.”
The reason I’m being so careful with my quotes here is that if this is true, then Rosen, who, as a civilian, would not have had it drilled into him that having someone who is active military involved in a law enforcement or intelligence operation, including surveillance collection, against American civilians is strictly forbidden under the military’s Code of Conduct and federal law.
“Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army, the Navy, the Marine Corps, the Air Force, or the Space Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.” (Certain exclusions, such as the president’s invocation of the Insurrection Act and any use of the National Guard, apply.)
