This video covers the actions of a quartering party when you will be establishing a base camp or assembly area. The main body maintains a defensive position while the quartering party checks the area and then reports back to the commander in charge of the main body. If the commander decides the area is suitable they then are lead forward by the quartering party NCOIC (which is Pt. 2) to the base camp area. Security at the base camp area is maintained by the quartering party personnel. The quartering party is made up of 1x NCO from each platoon and 2x troops from each squad. One NCO will be in overall control of the quartering party.
