Shine Out the DarkA controversial Pepsi Ad featuring Kendall Jenner was pulled by the company after only one day on air. The ad featured Jenner giving a Pepsi to a police officer during a protest. The protest ad was protested, seen as 'offensive, insensitive, tone def,' and trivializing current important social issues like Black Lives Matter, Standing Rock, etal, even co-opting for product profit. Statement by Pepsi: "Pepsi was trying to protect a global message of unity, peace, and understanding. Clearly we missed the mark, and we apologize. We did not intend to make light of any serious issue. We are pulling the content and halting any further roll out.
