Good afternoon, I’m still reporting on the coup.
I have a friend who lives in Maryland. Let’s just call him Dave. He is a conservative patriot and so living in Maryland would be like living in East Germany before the Berlin wall came down. It drives him crazy. Dave loves to research things he’s interested in because that’s what he does for a living.
On Friday House Democrats passed a DC statehood bill. Washington D.C. is soooo left-wing that if it ever became a state, and Karl Marx became one of their two new Senators, Marx would be primaried for being too conservative.
Of course, DC borders Virginia and Maryland and so most of Maryland and the Northern Virginia counties of Loudoun, Fairfax and Arlington suffer from the bilge overflow of bureaucracy uber alles.
The notion of making DC a state so that the Desperado party could get an extra two uber lefty Senators and one Representative comes up from time to time since I arrived on the scene over 50 years ago. But with the new in-your-face World Revolution Now movement, some may start to see this as inevitable.
But not so fast. Dave to the rescue. Remember, Dave lives in Maryland. Here is his letter to what I assume are Republican Senators – none of which represent Maryland.
Senators,
I live in Maryland. I am contacting you because I do not have a Republican Senator and you five are my favorite current senators.
Apologies for my abruptness but Nancy Pelosi must be silenced.
She is doing great harm to our country.
As you are aware, she is bringing a bill to the House to recognize
DC statehood. She is doing this to put you in a difficult position
and make Republicans look bad.
Here is my suggestion: Quickly bring a bill to the floor in the
Senate that offers to secede DC back to Maryland.
1. As you know when DC was formed, it didn't just get taken from MD.
There was a chunk taken from VA. And when it was decided that this chunk (Arlington and Alexandria) would no longer be a part of DC, they DIDN'T MAKE IT ANOTHER STATE! They seceded it BACK to where it came, VA. So, doing the same for MD follows exactly what was done before.
2. This calls the Democrats bluff. You know they won't support it. It will strip them of their phony pretense of "restoring"
representation to DC residents.
3. This puts Democrats in a hard spot. They will be forced to
articulate exactly why they don't support your bill. And, as
history with the other chunk demonstrates, there are no real
reasons. It exposes their hand. They just want 2 free new
Democrat Senators.
Let's force the Democrats to vote NO to giving DC residents statehood.

Oh my, Maryland already has one mega-mess city on its hands – Baltimore. No way would they want to take on the burden of Washington, D.C. However, DC would probably be better off for it. Nothing could be more corrupt than the existing DC government.
