I've been kicking around the idea of transcribing my solo bass arrangements into a Guitar Pro style tab, so I set up a short demo of my Castle On The Hill arrangement using TuxGuitar. TuxGuitar is a free open source tab editor software that works similar to Guitar Pro. Guitar Pro tabs are unique and valuable because you can edit and play them back interactively in a way that combines audio and visual tracking. This can make it easier to learn a piece of music than just reading the text based version of the tabs or sheet music. I'm considering transcribing all of my solo arrangements this way, and I'd like to hear back from other bassists. Has anyone tried to learn one of my solos from the tabs and had difficulty? Would having a Guitar Pro tab help you learn better? Please like this video if so, and leave a comment with any feedback. Thanks!!
