But the result is that the Tories, and Labour for that matter, are dropping in the polls with a new poll yesterday indicating that the Conservatives could lose 59 MPs if there was a snap general election right now.
And with the recent announcement that we would be holding European Parliament elections filtering down to the grassroots you can see there is much scope for further falls in Tory support.
In fact we might get to the point where, instead of staying at home for the local elections, the inability of Theresa May to not only deliver on her election pledge but also her lack of understanding of the anger within her party's normal support base, could actually drive people to make the conscious effort to get out and register a protest vote.
That would not be pretty for them at all - as many people will be voting for the obvious choice of UKIP. Hence all these calls on social media by some players trying to convince people to either go on voter strike or spoil their ballot papers.
Because they do not want the UKIP resurgence they are seeing right now.
And if people do decide not to vote, it would of course only benefit the Remain parties, who would sweep the board and make it look like Brexit is over. And wouldn't they crow about it too!
But not only that it could give Jeremy Corbyn a boost and legitimise him.
