There are no independent non-Mormon witnesses to Joseph Smith being the author of the Book of Abraham first published in Times Season March 1 1844 and ultimately in the Pearl of Great Price canonized in 1880. Joseph Smith specifically denounces the publication of the Book of Abraham and takes back the Times and Season previously given over to Willard Richards and the Quorum of the 12 only two month earlier in February 1842. Four independent credible non-Mormon Witnesses state Lucy Mack Smith owned and interpreted the Mummies and Papyrus. In 1844, Smith shows the curiosities to Josiah Quincy and Charles Francis Adams and relies on Lucy's assistance to help him interpret them for the visitors. Strikingly absent is any reference to the papyri being translated and published in print. Smith and Lucy simply give a general explanation to the hieroglyphics after which the visitors paid Lucy 25 cents for the exhibition.

Significant, Henry Asbury, Anglican Churchman from England brought a Greek psalter which Joseph Smith claimed was a ancient language dictionary of Greek, Reformed Egyptian letters. I have to wonder if these are the infamous WW Phelps notebooks filled with Egyptian letters. WW Phelps appears to be completely involve in the Mormon Document forgeries. WW Phelps is responsible for burying, then unburying and taking the Minutes of the Council of 50 to Utah where they languished in dust for over 100 years. If the story sounds fishy, then I have a 1852 Polygamy revelation suddenly found in the same dusty file cabinet miraculously appearing 8 years after Smiths death.

CORRECTION. THE THIRD BOOK IS READ FROM HENRY CASWELL. THREE DAYS WITH THE MORMONS. MR. CASWELL WROTE ANOTHER VOLUME ON THE MORMONS AS A ENGLISH CHURCHMAN REPORTING TO HIS COUNTRYMEN ABOUT WHETHER THE MORMONS WOULD SUPPORT BRITAIN IN EVENT OF ANOTHER WAR.
