Check your contract with your bank. When you make a deposit you are giving the bank an unsecured loan (unless you can arrange a "special deposit agreement", you might want to study that). The money you have is not yours when you deposit it. Don't feel bad, according to the Untied States Treasury and the courts, Federal Reserve Notes are not money anyway.
