BMA , MDU & MPS Extensive survey revealed :
1. Many doctors feel that the organisation is now out of control, and it’s actions are vindictive, sclerotic and overly bureaucratic.
2. After a number of appallingly misguided cases, against Dr Hadiza Bawa GABA, since 2017 , Mr Omar Karim FRCS, since 2018 , Mr Muhammad Iqbal Adil suspension since April 2020 , Mr Almas U Din Qazi FRCS since July 2020 , Dr Arora 2021 , Mr Kumar Orthopaedic Surgeon , the doctor’s union, the British Medical Association (BMA), has called for a complete overhaul of how the GMC operates.
3. A survey by the BMA & Medical Protection Society highlighted that 76 per cent of respondents felt that GMCcis a racist organisation and their GMC investigation had a detrimental impact on their mental and/or physical health and performance at work .
4. The racial bias of the GMC is one of the main issues that BMA has raised in their complaint High up .
5. The BMA has argued that the GMC is imposing fitness-to-practise sanctions ‘on vulnerable doctors in order to send a message to the wider medical profession’.
6. Far from protecting the public and upholding standards, the GMC appears to be increasingly damaging workforce morale.

We no longer trust that the GMC will treat us fairly and protect us from malicious or false accusations. And as any good doctor will tell you, once trust is lost, it’s incredibly hard to win back.

GMC published its report on 14/11/2014 admitting that 114 doctors died during GMC investigations between 2005-2013 , out of that 28 doctors suicided and another report published by thecGMC in May 2022 , GMC admitted 29 doctors died during gmc investigations and 7 suicides between 2018-2020 .

Dr Michael McPhillips
was an eminent Consultant Psychiatrist graduated from Cambridge University who has committed suicided after receiving a threatening letter received from the GMC for commencing some investigations.
Michael was an eminent Consultant psychiatrist of London , graduated from University of Cambridge and very competent psychiatrist well liked by his patients & colleagues. committed suicide after receiving letter GMC investigations against him.
The West London coroner Anton van Dellen recorded a conclusion of suicide, adding,
“ I have no hesitation in concluding that the information in the content of the communication from the GMC letter did contribute to Dr McPhillips’s state of mind and therefore contributed to his death.“
Future Strategies !
The BMA and dozens of other medical organisations and associations within U.K. have raised strong voice against the cruelty , discriminatory and biased approach of the GMC especially against the ethnic minority before other highly qualified, skilled and experienced doctors commit suicide and demand robust changes in the way GMC operates and immediate suspension of Medical act 1983 to safeguard health professionals, patients and public before public and health professionals take over the GMC and its control in their hands to protect patients and the public.
We the health professionals in collaboration with the British Medical Association and multiple medical associations and organisations demand scrap of medical act 1983 which gmc is exploiting against the health professionals to crucify them .
New regulatory body be established which should be fair , unbiased , honest , non discriminatory accurate and independent to deal with the complaint process with unbiased and honest approach .
Otherwise the entire decision making for doctors enquiries, investigations process be handed over to the honourable High Court for the justice .
We the health professionals are giving you two weeks notice to resolve these issues of biased and discriminatory approach before we the health professionals take drastic action in collaboration with the BMA and the public to take the law in our hands against the draconian act of the GMC and its key workers and decision making senior officers and managers .
