Doki Doki Literature Club Plus - Playthrough Part 2 (Monica Ending)

Things progress like one would expect from a dating sim, but the story quickly takes a darker turn. It' revealed that Sayori struggled with depression and her positive nature was a front to deal with that. The protagonist tries to reach out to her and at one point you are presented with a choice of whether you love her or see her as a friend - I chose the latter. On the next morning Sayori doesn't show up for the festival and when you check her house you find that she's hanged herself. Here Monika's true nature is revealed and the real game opens up. She is able to manipulate the game and the other characters since her AI became self-aware. This is apparent in the second playthrough where Sayori's character file is deleted and she no longer exists. Yuri and Natsuki are very different and much more obsessive and confrontational. The game also glitches out and Monika is able to control what the others say and your choices. Everything escalates to the point where Yuri stabs herself with a knife and Monika deletes her and Natsuki's character files. What is left is just Monika talking to you explaining how she became self-aware and tried to get a happy ending for herself, but her small changes didn't work and she escalated until she broke the game with drastic ones like Sayori and Yuri's suicides. On the operating system level you have the option to delete Monika's character file and it's pretty obvious that this is the only way to progress, but I want to here more of what she has to say before doing so - her dialogue is morbidly great.
