1991 was a transitional year between the 1980s and 1990s styles of street skating. 1980s tricks like one foots were still being done but so where the flip tricks of the 1990s. Then there were also some distinctly “1991” tricks like ollie impossibles and late shove-its. It was a colorful year with a lot of variety and advancements done big on large obstacles, such as Sean Sheefey’s BS tailslide on a table and Eric Rick’s 360 flip over a trashcan. The last few months of the year can be defined as the beginning of the “Big Pants Small Wheels” era. Here are some of the main events from the video broken down by month:
