In order for those to have been misled to begin to see “correctly,“ they must have a clear, analytical understanding of the origin, strategies, mechanics, purpose and methods of the device that has blinded them in the first place. The color of my poetry reflects the intent of those who inspire the pohm (poem), not my own. Eye prefer logic, reason , and accountability over emotionally driven conjecture. From this point on “White” is to be understood in its proper historical context created by your ancestors not mine. Eye research facts eye don’t make them….
The definition of “White”:
Built upon the idea of the British as:
Christian
- freeborn;
- deserving of rights and privilege from which “others” can be denied.
Legal standard for whiteness = sufficiently British-like
White = tool to divide laborers
White = superiority to nonwhite
White = worked to connect European laborers to the British elite.
White = center for patriarchal power
No genetic shift-a human assertion of power. “White” identity is only granted relevance by its complement “Black” identity. Pre 1930’s other than “White” were assigned “Black” legal status.
