POLAND IS PREPARING THE GROUND FOR THE POTENTIAL DEPLOYMENT OF TROOPS IN UKRAINE
Today in Kiev, Vladimir Zelenskyy met with President of Poland Andrzej Duda, who also spoke in the Ukrainian Rada. Both politicians made a few important statements:
◾️ Zelensky announced the appearance of a bill on the special status of Polish citizens in Ukraine. Its details are still not completely clear, but in preliminary we are talking about a significant expansion of the rights and opportunities of Warsaw citizens on the territory of the state. According to some reports, the Poles will even be able to hold positions in the Ukrainian authorities.
◾️ Zelensky also announced the simplification of crossing the border between Ukraine and Poland: according to his Polish colleague, this "will allow repelling any threat." Earlier, the Polish leader promised that the border between the two states would disappear in the near future.
◾️ During his speech, Duda once again said that Ukraine should become a member of the EU. He did not name a specific date.
The events that took place are a clear example of Poland's work to create the ground for the potential deployment of troops to Ukraine. The signed agreements demonstrate the desire of the authorities in Warsaw to take advantage of the situation and significantly increase the military-political, economic and cultural influence in the western regions of the neighboring country.
In the foreseeable future, there will only be more similar bilateral documents. Well, by themselves they do not mean that tomorrow or even a month later, Polish troops will definitely enter the territory of Ukraine. However, all these agreements open up a huge window of opportunity for Warsaw and free its hands for a direct invasion of the neighboring state.
With the legal framework done, nothing will prevent Poland from directly sending its units to Ukraine, leaving them there for an indefinite period, same as from systematically integrating the Ukrainian lands into its composition.
