There are countless anecdotes of health declining on vegan diets and returning on omnivore or carnivore diets.
The problem is the meat in most cases seems to involve harsh evil that is out of sight and out of mind.
As Tony said, only a psychopath can watch a documentary like Earthlings and be fine with that.

"I went vegan for 4 months and I think it almost killed me. I'm a B+ blood type with European ancestry, which means I need meat to thrive. I had severe chest pains to the point I had to lay down on the floor wherever I was at. I lost most of my body weight and could see and feel my bones in my hands, basically my body was eating itself. I was so sick. Finally I began to eat red meat again and within a week I felt back to my old self again.. my body needs meat in order to live. And if we are so against killing animals (which is a natural thing) then I guess we need to somehow force lions, tigers, and bears to grow gardens and drink green smoothies. [My edit: clearly the scale is totally different. The atrocious conditions exhibited in the horrifying films is because there's far too much demand for cheap animal products.]
I also went to the kushi institute in Massachusetts and watched these vegan teachers teeth erode to the point of falling out, they had horrible teeth from being vegans. Several teachers just dropped dead after being vegan for 10-20 years. It's extremely dangerous to our health to be vegan."
