@pushingblack “LITTLE LEAGUERS BEING LITTLE LEAGUERS.” AMERICA’S REAL PAST TIME IS RACISM
•
The Davenport, Iowa, Little League team is under fire after they singled out a Black player and filled his hair with cotton. They claim that they did this to other players as well, but have failed to provide any photos or videos showing this. But they’ve got video of the Black player in the crowd being treated like a mascot and the butt of a joke that just so happens to line up with longstanding racist imagery.

While the video was broadcast for all to see, the announcers tried to downplay it, saying things like, “Little leaguers will be little leaguers,” and “When in Rome.” First of all, they’re not in Rome, and secondly, being racist is not in the job description of a little leaguer. This isn’t just being a little leaguer, this is beng a racist. The kids need to be corrected and disciplined, instead of excusing their behavior and making excuses for them. #Unacceptable
