A Landsknecht song from the German federal youth movement, words: Joseph Buchhorn, music: Willie Jahn, written in 1914. One of the federal songs, which should strengthen the feeling of belonging and cohesion within the group. Written in the contemporary form of a soldier's song. Although it was written at the beginning of World War I, the song only really became popular after the war.
From 1924, the federal song of the German Scout Association was sung on the same melody (the lily banner is blowing). After the federal youth movement and the scout organizations were banned in the time of National Socialism, there were numerous parodies of this song.
Ein Landsknechtslied aus der bündischen Jugend, Text: Joseph Buchhorn, Musik: Willie Jahn, geschrieben 1914. Eines der bündischen Lieder, welches das Wir-Gefühl und den Zusammenhalt innerhalb der Gruppe stärken sollte. Geschrieben in der damals zeitgemässen Form eines Soldatenliedes. Obwohl bereits zu Beginn des 1. Weltkrieges geschrieben, wurde das Lied erst nach dem Krieg richtig populär.
Auf die gleiche Melodie wurde ab 1924 das Bundeslied des Deutschen Pfadfinderbundes gesungen (Das Lilienbanner wehet).
