Gloriana is historical trading simulation by German company Ascaron (formally know as Ascon). It was released as Elisabeth I. in German language. You play a merchant during the Elizabethan age, trying to reach fame and fortune. You start off with 5000 pounds and a ship you inherited from the captain whose crew you joined when you were 13 years old. The game features a plot around Queen Elizabeth, and there is also a number of mission you can fulfil. Trading is centred around buying and selling goods at various European harbours, getting more money, buying new ships, increasing your crew and improve on your equipment. If you do not want to be a merchant, the game also offers you to become a pirate.
