Ancient DNA Reveals Movements of First Farmers in East Africa's Rift Valley

Researchers from North American, European and African institutions analyzed ancient DNA from 41 human skeletons, providing answers to previously unsolved questions about life in sub-Saharan Africa thousands of years ago. The Jindo takes a look at the Great Rift Valley region, it's known history, and the context in which genetic data reveals the movements of herders, farmers and the extent of their interactions with the local hunter gatherers within the past 6,000 years.
