In the winter of 2022, truckers and their supports from across Canada converged on Ottawa to protest COVID-19 mandates in what became known as the Freedom Convoy. By mid-February, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau plunged the country into a new era, invoking the never-before-used Emergencies Act in response to the protest. This war-time legislation requires a public inquiry after it's use.
Over the course of six weeks, the Trudeau government's decision-making process stood trial. Now, in this new documentary, Trucker Rebellion, Trudeau on Trial, we take you through the Public Order Emergency Commission, which saw on-the-record testimony from members of the public, protesters, police, city officials and Trudeau's cabinet, including the prime minister himself.
