Community Note: What would you think if I did a weekly live show where we discuss a figure’s (or figures’) transformation sequence(s) in detail. Especially the more expensive and complex molds. Subject priority: 1) Loaner figure I will shortly no longer have on-hand. 2) Anything particularly awesome I just acquired. 3) Figures my inner circle of supporters want to see (provided I have the figure) 4) Figure requests from the community at large. I’m thinking Wednesdays.
Figure Note:
Stop-Motion Transformation of Takara/Tomy MP-42 Masterpiece Cordon. I had been considering doing Sunstreaker again, because he’s not quite the modern format and deserves to be seen the new way (ie: no cuts). Fortunately, fakter1 offered Cordon up on his latest wave of figure loans, so it was a great opportunity to do the mold again without repeating the particular figure.

Car to Robot: 0:09
Robot to Car: 1:53
Speed run to Robot: 3:38
Speed run to Car: 4:10
2x Run: 4:43
End credits: 5:15
Production Note: Shot for a 24fps rate.
Viewing Note:
If you want to follow along, I recommend skipping to the speed run and using the Chrome plugin called "Frame by Frame for YouTube". It turns your , and . keyboard keys into single-frame movement keys. Every step of the transformation is documented in the frames of the video, in what I consider to be the best sequence. With minimal rubbing and minimal parts-parking.
